Ability to use date range for date-type fields
The database column "Renewal Date last Changed" is essential when we need to send out membership cards and other new member items.
I produce member cards twice a month - once for the first half and then for the last half of the month. Any time on or after the 16th of the month I extract all those with a renewal date of the 1st thru the 15th and then after the first I extract all those with a renewal dated of the 16th thru the 31st.
Given the current tools, this is a tricky selection that requires two criteria - everyone whose renew date is greater than or equal to the 1st of the month AND less than or equal to the 15th of the month. There is a different set of criteria for the last half of the month. Also, these searches cannot be saved since next month the dates have to be changed to reflect the new month.
This process would be greatly simplified with a pair of new search criteria :
Select all members with a "Renewal Date last Changed" between day X and day Y of this month.
and
Select all members with a "Renewal Date last Changed" between day X and day Y of last month.
I would use option 1 on the 16th of the month in the form
"Select all members with a "Renewal Date last Changed" between day 1 and day 15 of this month."
and after the first of the next month I'd use option 2 in the form
"Select all members with a "Renewal Date last Changed" between day 16 and day 31 of last month."
Users who send out weekly member cards could set up additional ranges for whatever dates they are interested in,
Also, these searches could be saved and re-used each month since the terms "this month" and "last month" are based on the current date and are always meaningful.

Remove tooltips from the menu bar
To me the tooltips are not useful on the menu bar because the tooltip simply repeats the name of the menu item
http://screencast.com/t/X2gdxssSFJg
and worse than that, often obscure items in the menu below. Is there any positive impact they are supposed to have?
If not, I would vote to have them removed (or made possible to remove) in the next release of the system version.

display list of recipients in sending state
When I send a message to a group of recipients, all of the recipients go into a "sending" state until the message is delivered. If I click on the "failures" tab, it tells me that the message is still being sent until all have completed. None of the tabs seem to tell me which of recipients have not yet received the message and thus which may be experiencing delays. I suppose I could copy down the original recipient list and do set arithmetic with the successful delivery list, but I'm sort of disinclined to do this manually more than once.
I'd like to be able to list the recipients to which sending has not yet completed, so that if the process takes an inordinate amount of time, and if the message is time-sensitive, I can follow up with those people through other means, such as a telephone call or an alternate contact address.
I understand that it's not possible to know with 100% certainty that someone has not yet received a message. Delivery could possibly still occur even though the server gets (say) an SMTP 452 deferral error due to recipient grey-listing. Still, it would be good to know which ones the system still thinks are outstanding.
And I understand that delays in sending may represent problems that I should (and will) report to technical support for direct resolution. Just the same, having the data available would provide me with more options.

Better-looking quick search field in member's directory
Hello,
It would be really great if you could improve the looks of the quick search filter above the members' directory. The lists look really ugly (see screenshot) but we are keeping them because they are very useful in quickly narrowing down the members' list. Can you make them dropdown menus please??
Cheers,

Remove underline icon from editor options
I wish you would remove the Underline icon from the CMS page editing interface. Our website editors just love underlining headings! And nothing except links should ever be underlined on a web page. Links are underlined automatically (if that's the style you've chosen) so there is no need for this icon. Please!

Custom heading styles people can then apply via WYSIWYG
My club has several admins updating pages pertinent to the area that they are managing. They update the content themselves but have no html experience. I have created global text, header and link settings which they keep overriding when they add content with sub-headings, by using the WYSIWYG menu - creating a visual mess that does not match other pages.
Please add Header tag buttons to the menu so they can select a sub-heading and tag it with h1-h3 thereby using the global settings.
Thank you!!

Export Blog Content
My reading of this forum this morning leads me to believe there is no way of extracting blog posts from the Wild Apricot CMS. Is this true? Across the board, meaning even WA staff cannot export the content? Or, a support request to the WA technical staff can solve this issue?
Thanks

Email notice distribution
We would like to be able to specify individual members (rather than administrative roles) to receive specific system-generated emails (rather than ALL emails for membership, or ALL emails for events).
The system generates a lot of emails. For instance, there are initiation emails for membership sign-up and renewal; completion emails for membership sign-up and renewal; reminder emails for memberships that are expiring or have lapsed; and so on for events.
We have volunteers who work on membership and events who shouldn't have administrator access, but who should be able to get emails when someone signs up for a specific event, for instance.
And we have administrators who are incredibly frustrated because they're bombarded with emails that are basically irrelevant for them.
We want to be able to say that one specific member AND/OR one specific administrative role should receive a specific system-generated email, such as membership renewals or event sign-up for a specific event.
Really granular at the system-generated-email level as well as at the membership level.

Report for Updates
When emails are returned as undeliverable and the changes are made a daily report of updates made by administrators so the email could be resent would be helpful.

Automatic invoices for admin-initiated membership level changes
When a member opts to change membership level the system automatically generates an invoice.
However if the member sends in a cheque so that one of our admin staff does the membership level change, no invoices are generated automatically.
We have a stripped down free member level that we hope encourages people to become paid members, however, the workflow as it stands now makes it very easy for our admin people to just miss the invoice step so that the member will never be charged the new rate.
I'd like to see invoices automatically generated for membership level changes (if there is a difference in price of course). At the very least, please put a "Manual Invoice" button somewhere in the workflow so that our admins are reminded that it's not an automatic process

Include event tags in export of invoices for events
We're loving WA, and we think it's really going to work!
The one thing we're finding a bit strange is that Event Category tags work fantastic, but they don't show up anywhere in reporting.
Furthermore, it's impossible to export a list of events and see any sort of financial data.
It would be fantastic to have event included in the list of invoices and export of invoices
Then if we could export this with financial data that would be top!
Cheers

Change position of any contact/member form field
Currently the member form fields are shown vertically one under another on a page. How can we move any field we want to any position on the page?

Background Pictures/Watermarks
I have no trouble with adding a picture or background colour, but is there a way that we can add a picture, but fade it so that it is just lightly in the background?

Control which saved searches to show in the list
From what I've read so far through the apps we are not able to create new searches or modify existing searches that have been saved through the desktop version of WA. Could there possibly be a way to add a checkbox on the full version of WA searches to show only those searches in the app? We have a lot of internal searches that don't necessarily need to be included on the app, but it would be nice to be able to reduce the number of searches in the app list to only those that are deemed necessary for our membership administrators.
Thanks.
Larry

Icons/previews for page templates or master templates
We're considering a small improvement that would add previews/icons of page templates and or master templates instead of the current drop down list.
But before we invest time/energy into researching a solution and developing it, we wanted to confirm if any users actually had problems with the existing dropdowns during their initial setup or for regular updates.
Any comments for or against this change would be appreciated!

Easily resizing a picture by dragging a corner
I'm not finding this to be very intuitive as with a wix.com site. I'd like to just insert the picture and than drag a corner to adjust the size. Am I missing where to access an option like this?

Designate an attendee as a non-member if they are registered under a member attending
To have a field that designates an attendee as a non-member if they are registered under a member attending. The way it is now, non-members who sign up for an event under a member are listed as "members" and this is not correct.

registration confirmation e-mail template
In the email template that automatically confirms a registration, it would be hugely helpful if the invoice number generated by the registration was included as macro field. We often have registrants sending us their confirmation email, but it doesn't refer to the registration number/invoice.
Thanks!

Exporting of credit card type
It would be really great if there was a way to export the type of credit card used in the payment export. We balance our deposits into our bank account and American Express is deposited separate from all other bank cards. It would be great to export the payments from a certain time period, sort by credit card used and then calculate totals by card type so we can reconcile our bank statements. Currently it is a manual effort.

Transferring sign-in/authentication status to a third party website
We would like to have our members link to outside web sites (for example to access journal article content), using the WA login. The easiest way to do this is using signed linking, which there is no support for in WA. This could also provide a simple mechanism to provide Single Sign-on support using the WA login.
For example, WA should be able to create a link such as:
<a href="pathInfo?originator=originator&identity=identity×tamp=timestamp&token=signature">
Where:
• pathInfo - the destination of the link
• originator - the name of the service generating the signed link. This would be specified in the link settings.
• identity - the identity to which the user will be authenticated. E.g. the identity of the society or the user. (perhaps to be specified by the editor setting up the link)
• timestamp - the timestamp for the signed link, the date and time at which the link will expire. (to specify how long the link should remain valid after creation)
• signature – an MD5 checksum made up of the parameters, the pathInfo, plus a secret pass phrase.
