1. Administrator control over Member photo albums

   As a Wild Apricot website Administrator, I would like to be able to delete individual images from a Member's photo album (e.g. offensive, inappropriate, others' request).

   While a Member can add and delete photos, an Administrator can only turn the photo album feature on and off, i.e. shut down all albums for an individual Member.

   A workaround is to reset that Member's password, log in as that Member then delete the desired image(s). Then advise the Member to reset their password. This is not the most desirable solution.

   From a security perspective, Administrator control over a Member's uploaded content is very important. Wild Apricot have added this to their internal wish list, but I would like to learn fellow Administrators' support for this request here.

2. Ability to reset forgotten password via a widget

   I wanted to bring this particular topic back to the forefront as I think it is an important one. I found a similar post: http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308920-archive/suggestions/8830963-forgotten-password-and-widgets and it does not appear that it ever made it to the Wishlist.

   I really does present a problem when a member that forgot their password is redirected to the WA website and not back to our website after they click on the link they receive in the email received. The web pages that I have set up in WA are no where close to what I have on my website for our members. I really don't like the fact that they are now outside our website and on the member page within WA.

   There should be a way to have the email link redirect back to the log in page on our site, or even to a log in page in WA that then redirects back to a page on my site. I'm sure this probably doesn't make much sense and I should have probably thought through my question a little better before posting it, but I'm getting a lot of people asking where they are once they click the link in the Email. Because we have existing members the easiest thing for me to do was to tell them to click the forgot password link the first time they sign in so that they would have the link sent to them. Now 1100 + members are being redirected out of one website and into another that they are unsure what it actually is.

   Again, I hope this request makes sense. Along with the post that I referenced above, hopefully it does. I also wanted to bring it to the Wishlist as it appears others have the same concerns that I do.

3. Allow Member profile Access Control by Member Level

   Bottom Line: The matrix for controlling "Access to Others" for Profiles is insufficient. Currently the only choices are: Anyone, Members and No Access. We need another layer between Anyone and Members. This way we can use the full functionality of Wild Apricot and control access to information by delineating between the Public/Prospects and all real Members.

   Discussion: What this is about is how Wild Apricot allows us and our Members to control access to the information they provide in their profiles and how they and we control everyone's privacy.

   We have created two member levels:

   Guest
   
   *

   Member

   In order to make use of the full functionality of Wild Apricot, each level is given the status of Active Member.

   We want Guests to be able to freely register on our web site and we want to be able to add them to our e-mailing list. We also want Guests to receive notice of our weekly speaker series. The Guests are in effect prospective members.

   Our organization is run entirely by volunteers and assists experienced professions in job search and job transition. The majority of our Members are unemployed. One becomes a Member by participating in our intensive job search training program which costs several hundred dollars.

   One of the services we want to provide to our Members is the ability to post detailed profiles of their professional experience and job skills. The kind of profiles we want to provide would be similar to those found on LinkedIN. This allows current Members to learn about networking opportunities among one another and it also lets them learn about inactive Members who might be willing to help in their job search. Wild Apricot handles this quite well.

   In addition, we want to be able to afford our Members the option of a public listing. After all, many of them are looking for jobs. The Wild Apricot field Directory Listing Text is just what we need for this and the Public Directory page is made to order for this too. The Member can create a mini-profile promoting their own job search without revealing just the amount of information they feel comfortable.

   We are restricting the profile details available to Guests and we are not placing the Guests on the Public Directory. Again, we can do this with the member level controls currently available.

   So far so good. The problem arises in that we want to distinguish services provided between Members who pay a lot of money and invest considerable volunteer hours and Guests who register for free on the web site to receive notice of our events, etc. Remember our Guests are really members of the public who are prospects and we really don't want to afford them the privileges of Members. But to use the Wild Apricot features we have to give Guests the status Member Active in Wild Apricot.

   So, here is the rub. We created our Public Directory which excludes Guests. We limited the profile available for Guests. Members can write short promotional profiles, if they want, for the Directory Listing Text field. Our Members who have substantial detail available to them for their profiles can control what is seen by “Anyone”, “Members”, and “No Access.” We would hope that most if not all Members would allow access to their profiles to fellow Members. Their only choice to do so is to select the Wild Apricot choice of Member, which really means ALL member levels which have been created, without distinction.

   This means that all Guests who go to the Public Directory and click on any Member name will see all of the profile information that Member has available (which might include phone numbers and addresses, etc). But we DO NOT want Guests to be able to do this.

4. Easy way to insert links to system pages like member profile pages

   I could really use an easy way to link a member's name to their directory profile. I have a lot of pages where I list a committee chairperson's name or an officer's name as in "See Sue Smith for more information." and I would like to put a hyperlink on 'Sue Smith' that takes the user straight to Sue's directory profile so that the user can find her contact information.

   Right now, the only way I've figured out to do this is to log out as an administrator and log back in as a member. Then go to the member directory and find Sue Smith's profile. Then I copy the URL of this page to the clipboard or into Notepad if I have more than one profile URL that I need. Now I log out and log back in as an administrator again. I go to the place where I want the hyperlink, highlight the hyperlink text, click the Link button, and paste the profile page URL there. Pfew. That's a lot of back-and-forth just to get a directory link.

   As an admin I can do this, but our average members who update content on the website would never figure it out.

5. Give members closure after online registration

   My members who are first-time users of Wildapricot are complaining about the lack of closure during online registration. After clicking Confirm, where they might have expected a "Thank you for registering," they get the attached instead. "! This invoice is unpaid!" Of course it's unpaid. All invoices are unpaid when they're presented. Since we're operating in offline payment mode, there is nothing the member can do about it at the moment anyway. Please change this ugly non-assurance to something that gives some closure. The wording here is not just a gaffe for offline payers; it's a gaffe for everyone. People might not notice it after a few times registering, but it is still disrespectful to our members.

6. Change registrant visibility when moving from waitlist to registrants

   Waitlist: When an event is full and a member puts themselves on the waiting list, the flag for 'Share registration: Show registration on event registrants list' defaults to NO. So when the person on the waitlist is moved to the registrants list, the person still shows up as 'anonymous user'. Please change this flag so that when someone is added to the waitlist, it clicks yes to 'Show registration on event registants list'.

7. Certificate for members to print

   Hi, still would LOVE if the member cards could ALSO be printed as an 8x11 Certificate like I attached. Or, we could add a separate certificate section.

8. Different prices for the different variations of product

   I see that you can list variations on a item in the store. However, you cannot list different prices for the different variations. An example would be we sell postcards in quantities of 50, 100, 250, 500, and 1000. The different quantities cost different amounts. It would be nice to have the option rather than listing each quantity as a new product.

9. Disable renewal reminders for members with automated recurring payments enabled

   It would be great if we had the option to disable the various "Renewal Reminder" automated emails for those members who have automated recurring payments configured! We try to word the emails to indicate that those members can disregard the reminders, but it still causes confusion, especially for those members who worry that their membership will expire of they don't take action when the reminder email arrives in their inbox.

   There should be an additional checkbox for each of the reminder email configurations, which would allow us to optionally skip those members who have enabled automated recurring payments.

10. Recall Emails once they are scheduled and recall unopened emails

    I found out after I had sent the blast email that there was some incorrect information in it. I would like the ability to recall any scheduled emails and unopened emails.

11. print invoice by members

    Currently, When a member renews, the dialogue has a button to view/print the renewal invoice. When clicked, the screen shows some of the information contained on the invoice, but not an entire, formal invoice. Some of our members would like to generate a full formal invoice (with all the headings, terms, mailing information, etc. that is on the invoices that get generated in the WA invoicing module). Instead of presenting just the invoice information, how about using the invoice generator to generate a proper invoice for viewing and printing? Looks like functionality is already there.....
    Oh, and can we get an actual Print Invoice button? There isn't one there currently, even though the system implies there is.

12. secondary email address and email log

    I think it's important to see the results of each email in the Email Log. The capability to CC to additional email addresses is a HUGE step forward. However, the Log does not include the additional email addresses. It looks as if they don't exist, there is no way to know it worked unless you include a QC profile.

13. Event Registration Report Email(s)

    It would be great if the meeting organizer could setup a date & time for Wild Apricot to automatically email him/her (and a cc list) a report of those that are registered (and have declined) for an event. This should take advantage of the event "report" feature and be at the event level in the email section.

    Marketing Automation is a really important and effective feature for building relationships with members, retaining members/customers, and building a brand.

    Unlike one-off campaigns, automations are triggered when specific people meet the pre-defined criteria you set.

    For example, you can introduce folks to your company with a welcome series, get repeat customers by sharing product recommendations, re-engage lapsed customers, send happy birthday messages, and more.

    It would be ideal if WA offered a number of automation types with built-in triggers for common activities, with the ability to create a custom automation if needed.

    Once you’ve chosen an automation, added your content, and set your sending criteria, WA would manage the subscriber queue and email sends. After someone receives the first message in an automation series, they’ll receive every email in the series in sequence, unless they are removed from the automation.

16. SEO: Custom meta description and title tag for each Event. Also a "list title" as opposed to Page Title and Headline

    Please give more robust Search Engine Optimization capability to those of us who know its importance and know how to use it.

    It's more than "SEO"; it's a matter of site functionality.

    We get a lot of visitors from search engines. Often they find and go directly to an event description page, or the overall list of events, where they register and have are not even aware that they should know more about us first. For this reason, and for SEO reasons, we would benefit greatly if we were able to tweak the displayed page title and search snippet for EACH event description. Otherwise, Google picks up fragments of text containing the search words, which is usually does not help convert to a clickthrough, and does not help us explain what they've found.

    I believe HTML 5 allows meta tags to be contained in the body of a page (rather than in the header), but it requires a certain specification in the header. I am unfamiliar with the required code and syntax, but surely someone at WA is. However WA's HTML editor immediately deletes any meta tag in the event description, unless it is contained in an HTML comment tag, which will probably make it ignored, or worse, look like spamming. So that needs attention from WA, too.

    Please rocognize that a Title tag, a page Headline (e.g., H1), and the title of an event as shown in the master events list are NOT the same things (and for that matter, neither is the page's file name, which we cannot customize for an event, either, right?). Each serves a different purpose and needs to be worded specifically for that. The title that appears in a SERP would look stupid, wordy and redundant in a list of events, and would not be an attractive headline. It might contain stop words and punctuation and would often be relatively long, so it would not be good as a custom URL, either.

    In summary, each event description (and similar generated pages) needs the following fields, which can contain defaults but need to be individually customizeable for that particular event:

    • Custom URL (file name, for that particular event)
    • Title tag (for that particular event). Field length should match Google's typical minimum (although actually Google goes by the space used, not character count, so allow a bit extra).
    • Meta Description tag (for that particular event) (ditto regarding field length)
    • "List" title (appears on the list of all events and as the Title macro in emails)
    • Headline for the description text (an existing capability)

    This is mainly about Google but of course all major search engines are relevant. And this is all standard SEO/marketing best practices, nothing "black hat" about it.

    Please give more robust Search Engine Optimization capability to those of us who know its importance and know how to use it.

17. Ability to customize security aspects of {Registration_buttons} macro (warning message, auto-login behavior) in event announcements emails

    Current behavior:
    When an event announcement email includes the {Registration_buttons} macro
    - buttons has the ability to auto login recipients
    - security warning advising against forwarding the email will automatically appear in red at the top

    There are some issues with this solution:
    - "scary" security warning may reduce attendee engagement
    - risks of having autologin link in email might not be clear enough
    - there is no customization available (i.e there is no way to switch off autologin functionality and remove message)

    Desired behavior:
    We need to find proper balance between usability and security here

    It would be helpful to have a check box for all invoices so that multiple could be selected and marked as paid without having to open each individual invoice.
