Add ability to record a donation using Wild Apricot app and PayPal Here mobile card reader
We are very happy that we can now accept payments using the PayPal Here mobile card reader in conjunction with the Wild Apricot app. However, we have discovered that it is not possible to accept a donation and have it recorded as a donation in the member's account using PayPal Here - because a payment can only be recorded against an outstanding invoice and there isn't a way to generate an invoice for a donation. This is a big drawback!! We want members to be able to pay both membership dues and donations this way -- preferably in one transaction -- and have the payments recorded in the member account appropriately. Please, please add this ability!
If nothing else, could you add the ability to generate an invoice for a donation? I know that sounds weird - to bill someone for a donation - but that sounds like the easiest fix. Even better would be if it were set up so the invoice wasn't sent to the member but rather just used for internal bookkeeping reasons. I would still want the member to receive an automated Thank You email and receipt, however.

subscription for updated photos
Social forums are great. Users can subscribe and get an update anytime something changes in their topic(s) of interest.
We need the same concept for uploaded Photos. Each Member can subscribe to get updates any time a new photo is updated in a specific album/page.
By having this, Members would be automatically sent updates that they can visit the website. Sometimes, a little prodding is good to help with adoption AND this is when something NEW has been added. Going to a site and viewing all of the albums looking for new photos can be a waste of time.

Allow event registration within grace period, for members with past renewal date
Since the March 2017 release, this was implemented: "For existing members, member-specific registration types are only available if their renewal date is not in the past. This applies to members with statuses of Active, Pending - Renewal, and Pending - Level change. This prevents existing members whose membership is not paid up from using member-specific registration types."
WA provides for a Grace Period defined at the "membership level". The "no event registration" for member-specific registration types should be set after the grace period is up, NOT AT "PAST DUE" . That is the meaning of Grace Period for many organizations.5 votes -
Add a user access level for Contacts
Currently for a number of gadgets, such as the directory gadget, privacy levels for information display and access are set to either admins, members, or anybody. However anybody is actually two distinct categories: contacts who have set up system user accounts to access limited parts of the system, say the forums, and members of the public who have not set up any system user accounts. By having a Contact user access level administrators would have one more level of security to filter system use access; this could be used as a measure to build trusted access for non-members (presumably prospective members) to be exposed to the organization's activities.
As a part of this proposal I would add that contacts have privacy settings in their system user profiles.
Here is an example. We are considering putting our membership directory on a public page including allowing non-members to use the personal messaging system to send messages to members. Our hobby is very eclectic so having any means of matching members interests to those of potential members is important to us. While the personal messaging system would serve as a "firewall" against spambots harassing our members it would not provide protection against a human harassing our members by sending a personal message using a false email address as the reply to address. By requiring non-member users of the system to set up a system user account before they access the personal messaging system system administrators can set up a new level of accountability for non-members using the system.
Such a level of accountability already exists for "public" members to access the forums; by making Contacts a full access level that accountability can be spread system wide.

Event Registration - members with guests
Events Registration - program to have the linked registration function write the hosts name in the linked registration field if the host has guests. So the data export to an excel file can be sorted to assign sit together tables for table assignment?
host name ...... host name
host name ...... guest name
host name ...... guest nameThe host name .... guest name write is already there, it just requires the host name .... host name write.
This is a definite requirement for clubs that have meetings with table seatings and would take a WA programmer 2 secs to change. Whereas users searching and manually updating cells for every event over and over can take forever.

Copy 'Change status to Lapsed' to automatic actions for grace period
Membership Renewal Policy: Copy the functionality of the second "If not renewed within x days" to the first. We want a membership which expired to change from Pending Renewal to Lapsed. After x days later, we want to void the invoice and change the status to Suspended. Not all associations offer a grace period after the expiration date.

Conditionally Linked Multiple Event Registrations
If we have two events A and B. In order to attend event B a participant must be registered for event A. There should be a mechanism in Wild Apricot to 'check' for the initial event A prior to allowing registration for event B.

forums and Facebook
Build a connection between forums and a closed facebook group. Members are saying that they don't use the forums because it is a pain to log into a system they don't already access on a regular basis... but most are on Facebook daily...
Or, is there a way to auto-subscribe members to certain forum channels? Any advice on easing the process for members to comment/interact?

Adding additional recipients to automatic event e-mails
Our club has large events (long-weekend gatherings) at are administered by an event manager, and contained within it smaller activities that are separately organized by different people with separate registration requirements/limits (classes, activities). This is a little more complicated than multi-session events, so we can't use that functionality for this.
So instead, we have the master event with the event organizer being the overall event manager (used to sign up people for the long weekend and over overall event costs), and then the "sub-events" that happen during the master event are events themselves, with their leader/instructor as the event organizer (used to sign up people to individual activities, enforce skill requirements, limit class size, etc.).
Our request is the ability to add additional e-mail addresses on the automatic registration e-mails generated when a member signs up for one of these sub-events. For example, the event manager would like a copy of the registration e-mail, as well as the person who manages all events in Wild Apricot (e.g. the person with administrative powers).
To answer a question you may have, our club as some 5 weekend events each year, each with a separate event manager, probably 10-20 sub-events per weekend event, and 50-200 single day events not associated with a weekend event a year, each with their own organizer (different people from the event manager). Since we can't give that many people admin powers (whew!), the organizers, event managers, and event admin need to be in the loop to cancel registrations, pull people from the waitlist, etc. to make it all work.
Allowing additional people to be e-mailed when someone registers for a particular event would help a lot in this respect.
Thanks!

On Membership renewal system page, move renewal code box nearer to top
We have many custom member fields defined, and they are all displayed (for editing?) on the Membership renewal system page. Way, way, way down at the bottom is the box to enter a renewal discount code.
Our members never discover that box - it seems more natural that this be up nearer the top, before the "Your profile" section.
For that matter, we'd be happy to be able to remove the entire "Your profile" section completely from the Membership renewal page.

photo library access
As an organization of visual artists, we wish the templates were more compelling. Also, I wish admin could retrieve photos from member profiles for our general website gallery use (gallery showcase, homepage slideshow, etc)....is there any way the members could check off a permission box when they upload their photos so we can access and add the images to our library?

Contacts Directory Gadget
This would be an adaptation of the Membership Directory gadget to allow contacts to be listed. Additionally contacts would have access to a set of Privacy settings in their User Profile comparable to what members have today. A stronger user agreement or terms of service agreement might be required along with legal opt-in requirements and notifications for any contact using the system. A personal message sent by a member to a contact could be set to go through admins for approval, to use the organization's administrative email address, to allow the member to disclose his email address if he wishes, or to point the contact to send a personal message to the member from location on a public membership directory.
Wild Apricot currently has a Membership Directory gadget that uses a pretty secure personal messaging system: the sender of the message must provide his email address to the recipient but only if the recipient responds does the recipient disclose her/his/their email address. A degree of privacy is preserved. Aside from standard email and Wild Apricot email blasts the personal messaging system is the primary means of initiating contact inside our organization. We make very little use of our forums and will not reconsider using them more until the Listserv project is online (empty forums do not look good; email is what will make them show activity).
As a hobby group our organization has eclectic interests. Allowing a member to contact someone who has stated similar interests would allow us to better self-organize and to recruit potential members.

Add holidays to event calendar
I would like to import a list of holidays into the WA calendar gadget. I'm thinking of something similar to how I can choose to add "Holidays in [country]" as another calendar in Google Calendar.
I know I can add sessions to a "Holiday" event, but it would be nice to have the name of the holiday as the title instead of "Holiday" without having to create an event for every single one.

Keep financial information about bundle after switching bundle administrator
This actually works quite well for us and is the main reason we chose WA. The only thing that I think can be confusing is that sometimes we switch who is the bundle administrator but the account information of previous invoices and payments stays with the member not the new bundle administrator – so you can be in a situation whereby clicking on the bundle administrator account doesn’t always tell the whole story financially

Phone App check in button to small
Check in button on phone app is too close to the area to display registration. Users keep missing the button to check in by just a little bit and calling up the registration record.
