1. Update Event fields via file Import

   Hi

   It would be great to store user feedback linked to the user and event.

   I've created a custom event field called Feedback. Now it would be great if I could import the feedback collected via Wufoo via file import.

   This would mean I could export the data from Wufoo, and import here, instead of having to enter each entry manually.

2. Adding "Read more" link to event details

   Hello there,

   We sometimes have events that have many speakers for which we give bios of each. This can make the event description quite lengthy. In order to shorten the event description so that it's not so overwhelming for the potential attendee, it would be great to have the ability for a "Read more" link within the event description. That way, if someone wants to read more about Jane Doe's life, then he/she can just click the "Read more" link and be taken to a separate page just for that person. Right now, I could create a content page underneath the Event Calendar (what we call "Programs"), but then that page also shows up as a sub-header, which I don't want. In fact, the only way I would like someone to be able to link to that page is via the event description (short of typing in the url).

   Does that make sense? If so, is there a way to do this? I don't want to restrict access to anyone because our events are open to our non-members as well as members.

3. Add "Anonymous" Commenting Option to Profile

   Currently, anyone commenting on a Forum has their name displayed with their comment. The only way to comment anonymously is to remove all outside access to the profile.

   On the premise that people might be more willing to participate in a Forum if they could easily create anonymity, adding a profile option to permit anonymous commenting would be a helpful feature.

   An alternative approach might be to direct the commenter through a process allowing removal of their name, substituting of a "nickname" or simply "anonymous" to identify the commenter.

4. Ability to see forum posts by each user/member

   I put this comment in a different thread (oops!) and the Chief Apricot Dmitry said "I totally agree with your point about the usefulness of seeing a particular person's posts and I would appreciate if you could create a thread on this" Thanks Dmitry! Here it is...

   It would be useful for us to see posts by each user - like in these WA forums when you click on the user's name and it brings you to a page with a tab that shows all of their posts.

   Situations when we would like to see a list of each user's posts would include: when I know I posted something on a particular topic and want to follow up on it (and I forgot to subscribe to the topic) and I can't find it because the forum is large and I don't have time to sort through it all. Or, when I find a particular user's posts more helpful or informative than others, I would like to see what they had to say in their other posts on different topics. Also, we encourage members to be active on our forums and offer a reduced membership fee for a certain amount of participation - tracking this would be much easier if each member had a list of their posts.

   Would this be useful to any other WA users?

5. Auto-login from e-mail links

   It would be great if a macro could be built that could be used in an e-mail where the recipient simply clicks on a link and they are automatically signed in and directed to their membership profile. Currently, there is a macro that will direct the recipient to their profile, but they still have to manually login to get to it.

   Anything we can do to simply the process for members who aren't super computer savy would be great. Having the macro automatically log them in would be a great enhancement. Thought I would post this to see if others also would like to see this function made available.

6. Event Registration Report - options Mark All / Clear All

   I am using the Event Registration Report frequently. I have events with over 30 field choices. It is very tedious to have to click or unclick each field box.

   Would it be possible to make two Report Options?

   Mark All - will select every field to report on.

   Clear All - will unselect every field

7. Tracking and automating member benefits

   I would be interested to know if a process to track and manage unique member benefits has been discussed or proposed. We are considering using WA for a small museum, and our members receive benefits including free admissions (vouchers) that they can give away. I would like to populate the system with a certain number of benefits per level and then give the member the ability to use/print these unique pages any time they wished.

   For example - a member at level 1 may receive a 5 free guest admissions, whereas a member at level 2 may receive 10 etc.

8. Event gadget formatted as Mini Calendar

   I have the listed events gadget already in use. What I was wanting was a mini map that would show dates, and the viewer can click on the date and get specific events happening on that date. I also want to show the current events gadget as well on the home page.

   I would like to have a gadget that shows a working "Mini Calendar" like the one below for the home page.

9. Highlight lapsed members in event registration admin screens

   Although a lapsed member is unable to register for member-only events online (this is good), the Event Manager or Administrator when adding an attendee manually (one who mails in a registration form for example) does not get any notification when adding an attendee that their membership has in fact lapsed, and they are not eligible for the event (this is bad!).

   I had hoped to save all my Event Managers any extra work by telling them that when they entered the email address of the attendee, the system would not find them if they were not a current member. That only works in year one --- once renewals lapse, WA finds the member data but does not notify the manager of the members status as lapsed.

   This means that for every attendee manually added to a member-only event, the event manager must take the extra step of clicking on the member name, clicking on Membership to see that the status is Active member. I don't see that working real well.

   Please consider adding notification about member status when adding an attendee manually to an event via their email address. I'm OK with notification only if that's a quick fix --- not so concerned about blocking event manager from adding the lapsed member.

   We need this before next August when our non-renewing members will lapse!!!!

10. Tracking message sent to registered members from visitors

    "Send Message" feature is great feature that we requested for about a year and we eventually got it this August. Thanks very much for that!

    Now we are looking for an additional feature to that:

    We really want to track how many visitors ahve sent message to our registered members - we want to track the lead that our website generated to our members - a number to attract more new members for sure.

    When visitors send message to the member, we would like to receive a copy of the message - it's that simple.

    We think most of WA websites will need this feature too.

    Please put this on your to-do list.

11. Improve interface for adding people into Groups

    When you go into membership settings - group managment - manage participants -

    You can pick a group you want to edit the participant for that group. You have two lists on the left hand side you have the list of participants for that group, on the right hand side you have a list of all members so you can quickly add new members to be participants of that group. All good.

    My suggestion is to have a drop down box with a list of data base fields above the right hand box (all members list) then you can pick a database field (custom ones as well). next to the dropdownbox (data base field) you have a text box to specify what you want to search on in that field. Then a search is done and the list below is now a list of specific members you can add to that group. Making life easier.

    Reasons for use could create a group for peopleliving in a certain city, etc.

    Now to make it even more fancy you could add filter capacity too it. By adding one of those + by the right hand side you could add more searches so you caould search on 2+ fields.

    What do people think? hope it goes down well as a new user I hope I am on the right track. Loving your work WA like the new page managment.

13. Respect calendar event color settings in weekly calendar view

    Week view in the calendar doesn't currently respect the event tile color settings set using custom javascript as seen here https://gethelp.wildapricot.com/en/articles/94#Eventtags-colorcodingColorcodingeventsusingeventtags
    This is confirmed by the bot 'Currently, color coding event tiles using event tags is only supported in the monthly calendar view, not in the week view.'
    It should be a simple fix to have the tiles respect the coding in Week view, so make it so.

14. WebDav Is slow

    I have seen a couple of posts on this dating back to 2014. Can't believe this hasn't been addressed.

    WebDav is painfully slow. It takes ages for files to appear...loading, loading, loading....! If copy/pasting one file from the WebDav directory it not only takes down the server connection but partially pulls down the website as well. The Website > Files section is clunky and dated, pretty much like the rest of WildApricot.

    When is Personify going to improve this service?

15. custom field visible on member list

    Because I work with children, who don't have credit cards, the primary contact on WildApricot is not the person I work with, and the name of the child is a custom field. When I am looking at member lists, it would be useful to see the child's name (custom field) anywhere. The parents' names are often different, frequently including different last names, and right now I sometimes can't figure out who these people are without clicking on them.

    We have a community in which members are often looking to find, borrow, buy or rent something (a cabin, boat, bike) or they have a similar item to give way, rent or sell. We would like a classifieds page or gadget that lets users self-post the item they have or want. Ideally it would allow them to add a picture and contact info, and would have an expiration date, so that the post disappears (or is archived after a certain period of time. Using a forum for this is a poor solution. I tried your to make the Personify "jobs board" work, but it does not allow enough customization of field names to be useful, and would only confuse users.

    I just read that Cloudflare is going to roll out an option to allow web servers to block AI scrapers, in order to protect privacy and IP rights. Can WA employ this service or something similar to protect our content from AI scrapers?

18. Ability to receive forwarded emails sent wildapricot.org

    Okay, this might be a tricky one... We would like to have Wild Apricot able to include other mailing lists in our own mailings. In other words, we send a blast to our members AND to members of a group that we don't control via their list. Unfortunately, that means that the other group has to accept emails from our Wild Apricot account. Those emails are from "ouraccount@wildapricot.org". If we try to sign up to the other mailing list, using that as an email address, we need to be able to confirm that registration.

    My guess is that for this (and possibly other reasons), it would be nice if emails to ouraccount@wildapricot.org could automatically be forwarded to our official account administration email address.

    Our company works with educational institutes. These members are represented by several individuals in those institutes. Wild Apricots current method of event registration allows for only the primary email address to register for events. Our events are open to all of the people in those institutes and passing around an email address to everyone is not ideal and is too informal for the work that we do. We need a way to allow people at these institutes to register on their behalf. Right now we have an event that allows non-members to attend an event for a fee. If they are a member it's free. This current setup is causing members to receive invoices that some have mistakenly paid when they used the wrong email address. Our staff has been dealing with this issue for almost 2 weeks.

    There are several ways this can be done:
    - A new field in the internal part in each member profile to list accepted email addresses for members to register for events with.
    - A new field in the internal part in each member profile for an accepted email domain name for registrations. For example any email ending 'school.edu' should be allowed to register for an event on the behalf of that member.
    - Instead of members typing an email address, request that they type the correct name of their institute. If that institute is a member they can register for free.

    This functionality is imperative to our use of events in Wild Apricot.

20. Members View "Checked-in" for ALL Registered Events

    This feature is currently only available at the Admin level (see image). Members must see that they have been checked in (see image). This is the only way they can self-verify attendance of all event registered AND attended.
