  1. The Edit Button is a Waste of Time

When updating registration types for events, I have to click the "Edit" button to update the registration option. You should go to the Edit page directly. The middle step is a waste of time. In fact get rid of ALL edit buttons. Every page should have open fields. Clicking Edit is archaic and counterintuitive. WHY ADD THE EXTRA STEP!?

  2. Separate profile page for contacts vs. members

    Dear Wild Apricot,

I am setting up an account that has various membership levels plus it allows people to sign up just for an email newsletter without membership. It would be really nice to have a separate profile page (or the ability to set fields for the profile) based on membership or non-membership. The profile page shows invoices as well as subscriptions to forums to forums, for example, to people who are non-members. I think this is confusing.

Also, it would be nice to have be able to set when fields are required or not based on whether someone is…

  3. Stop applying website styles to emails when composing

Currently when composing an email you cannot tell if it is styled properly as website styles are applied in the composition window.

E.g. my website text is Open Sans 16pt and I want to send an email in Open Sans 16pt. It looks like it is already formatted that way when composing, because website styles are applied. When a test email arrives in my inbox the text might be a mix of styled and unstyled. (Also, the font indicator in the email composer is unreliable.)

I can't think of any good reason for it to be set up this way.

  5. Pay On The Day (cash) registration along side online payments

Give the ability to make one ticket a 'Pay xx amount online for registration' but also have the ability to make another ticket in the same event that says 'Pay In Cash' and doesn't bill it to the users account or send an invoice.

At the moment to do this, ( as some people pay online and some don't) we have to make one of the registrations 'free' but make it clear that they must pay cash on the day. Annoyingly enough it says $0 by the ticket. Even the option to just take away that $0 would be nice.

  6. Rework the admin UI

I've worked with many different types of admin panels, and Wild Apricot's is hands down the most difficult and counter-intuitive panel I have ever had to struggle with. And, the problem exists throughout the admin system. Whether you're working on the website, managing financial matters or just trying to send an email out to members or contacts, you have to poke around and experiment to hopefully get it close to right. The learning curve is way too steep for what is supposed to be a simple membership site.

  8. IP Address monitoring to keep members from freely sharing membership login info

There's a few services that offer IP address monitoring to ensure paid members aren't freely sharing their membership. This would be helpful for me (I believe Sentry does this)

  9. Integrate Taxes for Liability Accounts Quickbooks

Allow taxes to be tracked separately for download properly into Quickbooks. Current system does not track the HST tax as would be needed in a liability account in any accounting system. This requires a lot of manipulation to re-enter the data into our accounts.

  10. control blog excerpt length

    I don't see a way to control the length of the "excerpt" generated by the RSS for the blog posts. Typically the user can control either the number of characters or the number of words;

  13. Add an Advanced Search feature that allows you to search for a specific member type that is Active when you have many membership levels.

We have to add all of the membership levels we don't want and mark "Not this level" on each type. It would be great to have an option to search for one or two levels that are active without going through that process.

  17. Macro for remaining registrations

I'd like a macro for the # of open spots for an event. I have some events that are limited to 10 people. It would be great if the announcement emails could include the number of open spots left so that people would know to hurry up and register.

  18. Build registration for events so that Members do not see General admission and overpay

When my members log on and go to register for an event, they see the member rate that applies, but they also see the general public rate. (I assume they see that because it is open to nonmembers and so the system shows it to everyone.)
And inevitably a handful of members blindly click the general public rate. In which case, I have to contact them and refund their money and then step them through another registration. Very time-consuming.
Is there a way, (I'm recalling that there are very clever ways to limit the results in search while looking at…

  19. Creating Courses Using Wild Apricot

Would like to use WA to have people signup and pay for courses. As a starting off point it would be helpful if automatic recurring payments for same could be limited by a date range - say a 3 month course billed monthly but for only 3 months and then the membership level would default to a different membership level ie "course graduate" who would have different site access.

  20. Overhaul WA HTML e-Mail to send out REAL HTML standard

A while ago I realized why my RESPONSIVE HTML e-Mails weren't responsive: I found out that the Wild Apricot eMail System does not send out WW3 confirm HTML eMails, as it "cleans" all HTML code from the templates that are not inside the <body> tag while sending it out.

This is a real problem because eMail clients like Apple Mail and others totally depend on the correct DOC Type and <meta> tag structure and content to correctly display HTML and give the viewing device the chance to arrange the layout according to the designer's CSS code. Without the complete HTML…
