1. Allow to make common fields readonly

   It would be very helpful to be able to add a common field which can be changed only by the administrator, but still be seen by non-members or members (depending on what options have been selected under common fields). This way a rating could be input by the administrator, without being accessable by the member, but still be viewable by anyone.

   For example the admin adds a new common field called 'Ratings' - Options set at 'for administrator access/input only' - Others access set at 'Anybody'- this would allow the administrator to manually add a rating to a member as such:

   Rating: 5/5 Star Rating (1 vote)

   Is this possible at all???

   Happy to say that you're now able to set contact fields as read-only, as you could do previously for Member fields. This was added in  WildApricot with release 8.7

2. Integration with QuickBooks Online

   1) Integration with QuickBooks. Need to be able to download monthly in a way that recognizes existing customers and allows me to code transactions in WA according to my QB Chart of Accounts.

   For financial data from Wild Apricot to be useful to Parent Booster USA, I have to be able to download an arbitrary number of transactions, e.g., all transactiuons in a month, for all members, them load those transactions into QuickBooks so that the download adds new transactions to the exisitng customer accounts. Downloads that create new customers each month aren't helpful. Beyond that, I'd like to be able to code financial transactions in Wild Apricot so that they match the accounting codes in QB, e.g., new member, basic level is transaction code 6101.

   As it currently operates, the financial subsystem gives PBUSA's members something to complain about and the administrators unneeded manual tasks.

   We have released dedicated QuickBooks Online invoice export that will allow you to keep your accounting up-to-date.

3. Exported Finance Info 'name' column problem

   When I export data from the Finance area, WA puts the members names in one column (John Doe). I need the name to be in two columns so I can alphabetize by last name. I went to the WA support/help people and was told that's the way it is and I will need to do a 'text to columns' procedure as a 'workaround'. This is what I've been doing and, because I export frequently, it's an additional timely and frustrating problem when reformatting the Exports.

   1. I would like WA to consider changing the way the names are exported in the Finance section.

   2. If this can't be done, I'd like an explanation as to why it has to be this way? For the life of me, I can't see the logic in how it is now.

   3. If anyone who reads this request knows of a solution (besides what I'm already doing), please pass on your information.

4. Numeric field type

   We had an old discussion about adding new type for a custom field - numbers:

   When we started our analysis work on this problem, we realized that we have no clear vision of what is underlying problem that our clients want to resolve with this new field type.

   Most comments were about export into Excel, so it can properly recognize numbers. But from our point of view, export itself is a workaround to another problem - something is missing in Wild Apricot functionality and you try to substitute it with export. This means that adding new field type will not truly resolve initial problem, so at some level it's not a real system improvement and we usually try to avoid such system changes.

   On the other hand, we might miss something important and Numeric field type can really be useful and fulfill some of an organization necessities (please, do not mix Numeric type with dates and other field types - for dates we can clearly see scenarios). For example, to validate user input when your members apply for membership (but in this case what in particular the field is about?)

   So can you please help us:

   1) We need your reasons and examples of why your particular organization would benefit from having Numeric field - ideally, not as a workaround of a bigger problem.
   2) Do you need to have ability to search on this numbers like "less" or "greater" or "between"?
   3) Do you need integer type, decimal or both?
   4) Do you need special validation rules for the field like "cannot be less than..." or "not greater than"?

   From version 8.2 the Numeric field type and Numeric extra charge field type are available on Contact, Membership and Event forms. 

   With a new version of API (2.3) we also added the proper recognition of these fields.

5. Provide event name and membership level details in invoices

   Currently, there is no way to report on financial transaction details in WA. I need a way to report by transaction - which event, what membership level, etc in Excel. Currently, the only way to determine this is to export a QuickBooks file and either open in Excel or import into QuickBooks. PLEASE add more financial reporting that gives details of each transaction (opposed to just saying Event Registration or Membership). This is crucial for bookkeeping because we track each transaction by type.

   We have updated contents of financial exports in 5.12. release (https://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Release+5.12#Release5.12-Exportingfinancialdetails):
   – Added more contact details
   – Invoice origin details, e.g. Event name & Registration type for events and Level name for membership invoices
   – Payment date to invoices
   Some other minor changes.

6. Forum Search

   This is a requirement for any site. I can't imagine there isn't a SEARCH function on the Forum site. How sad. Please add this feature.

7. Single sign-on

   One of our WA pages redirects to our second website domain but appears seamless to the member and they think they are still on the same site. It confuses them that they have to login a second time (they think the system bumped them).

   Is there any code I can add to the redirecting page so the member's login credentials are automatically filled in (and sent) or authenticated on the second site? I haven't been able to find any single sign-on options that make sense.

8. Mandatory payment for event registration: complete a registration only when a payment is received

   I have two sites that I have just created and thought before hand (Prior to last update) that I tried the registration process. I recall being able to turn off manual or offline payments which in turn would only complete event registrations only if an online payment was received.

   Now that I have built these two sites and see that "invoices" are being created and people are regsitering without paying online, it is creating a major problem and adding a tremendous burden on our businesses in multiple ways.

   1. A bunch of our events have limited registration so when people register without paying, It is closing our events to participants that have no financial committement yet to us, which causes issues trying to receive those payments before the scheduled events.

   2. Most of our event participants are not members of our site, and one of our sites we have even used css customization to completely take out the username/password box so when people register for events and don't pay they don't have anyway to do so in the future except the one email they get afterwards showing they have an invoice.

   3. A lot of our events are online so we don't physically see the participant. This goes along with the first point in trying to collect payments prior to the event starting and the pain that goes along in trying to collect registration fees from a registered guest.

   I don't understand how this is not a larger issue with other sites. For example:

   Dinner Events - Multiple guests can register for the event that didn't pay, not show up and the business is out money.

   Bracketed Events - We are running a sports tournament that have a max of 16 competitors in each division. The winner of the division gets a paid trip to the world championships. If competitors register and don't pay and don't show up, we are out of the money and have to pay out of pocket for the competitor in that division to go to the world championships.

   Online Events - I started a fantasy sports site where each event consists of 10 teams that have a specific online draft date. The winners get the prize money. If a team registers but doesn't pay, then we have to pay winners out of pocket.

   I understand invoices are created and we can send them ourselves and spend time trying to collect payments afterwards. However this is very time consuming and risky. If there is a way to limit registrations to only participants that already paid online then I would be extremely grateful if someone would be able to explain it to me. If not, is there anything in the works to fix this issue.

   Through creating the site I have used WA support and it has been very helpful...except when I called about this specific issue which the lady was pretty rude. I just want to say thanks for the help so far and I apologize for how large this post got. I just need to find a solution for this issue prior to moving forward with the businesses I am working for/with.

9. Sign-on integration with Wordpress etc. [16822]

   This would be a great feature for us to have. Having single sign-on is crucial in our efforts to simplify and manage the user experience when members access multiple systems aside from WA.

   Right now they would have to basically sign-up in multiple places, receive and manage multiple logins this is a real big headache for us admins and developers who are trying to offer services via other platforms aside from WA.

   Let me know if we are even close to having something like this release in the near future.

10. Limiting tickets sold per ticket type

    Hello, I run a singles group and would like a feature where I have 20 tickets to sell, but only 10 womens tickets and 10 mens tickets.

    Currently the system will allow me to limit tickets to 20, but I could have 20 women sign up unless I dillegently (really dilligently) watch ticket sales and disable womens tickets sales once it reaches 10.

    This is one of the reasons I'm looking for new membership website software. It's so much easier to run events (ie, sell tickets) with eventbrite and wordpress- but then I lose out on the features that I do like with wild apricot.

    Coupon codes, limiting ticket sales per ticket, wait list features... come on guys! Help us make more money, easier, so our $200 a month fee doesn't feel like it's being wasted!

    Current situation:
    Our mobile app is only accessible to administrators of an organization.

13. More Renewal Emails

    Love most of the functionality of Wild Apricot.

    In reading many sources, a lot of which are provided by Wild Apricot, I note that organizations that have a renewal rate over 80% typically have a never-ending cycle of renewal messages that go out - they start 30 days after someone renews their membership.

    I would like to be able to have more than the minimal number of membership renewal emails that are possible now - is it 3 or 4, I don't recall at this second. It would be really good to have 10 renewal emails available.

14. Customize contact fields to include on donation form

    Hi guys.

    Would it be possible to make the donation function page's contact fields editable, much like the current page that allows people to sign up for the email newsletter?

    Right now, it defaults to all required contact information, which makes sense for anyone applying to our organization for membership or registering for an event, but does not make sense for people who only want to donate to us.

15. Disabling password email

    In release 4.3 back on 14 December 2011 we have introduced a number of quite serious changes into system behaviour.

    One of the change was ability for any contact to log in into the system - this was required to support new payment workflow with invoices. (Before the release only members were able to log in). Part of the change is that password is not not entered now (even for membership applications), it's automatically generated and sent by special password email (Settings / Password email). Automatically means certain situation - mostly when new contact is created in the contact database due to some form submit (i.e. event registration, donation, membership application, subscription form). If contact already existed, password is not sent.

    Having the password, any contact can log in into Wild Apricot and review his profile:
    * Update email preferences
    * See open invoices and history of payments
    * Pay online for any open invoice
    * Repeat failed payment
    * Review event registrations

    As I said, ability to log in for any contact is required to support new payment workflows. But we have received some comments from you that you do not want these emails to be sent and want to somehow switch them off. We want to understand "why" before going into any development - right now it's not clear for us.

    Please give us as much details as you can - so we can find best solution. Probably, switching off password email is not what you need, it's just because another part of the system does not work well for you and password problem is just a consequence of it.

    In 6.17 update we have added option to disable password email to non-member users.

16. QR codes scan for event attendance tracking

    Does anyone know a way to use QR codes with WildApricot? It would be a nice way to handle check-in to events, etc. if we can get the reservation to print with a QR code.

17. Customization of Financial Reports

    Hey. I have seen that there is progress for the integration with quickbooks which is amazing, but in order for our finances to get figured out I need to be able to generate reports with the attendee, email, organization, event, payment date, amount, and payment type. The closest I can see it exporting the attendee reports from each event and then combining them.

    If we could edit the level of detail that the finance reports show, that would be ideal

    We are getting requests from event attendees for a pdf or a hardcopy of the invoice as organisations won't accept an email as an official invoice

    We have released the functionality of directly getting PDF of financial documents (Invoices, Donation receipts) in recent 8.10 release. As of now it's just a PDF of email, but we plan to make it separate customizable document in future versions.

19. Text (SMS) communications with attendees, members, etc.

    I did not see this on the wishlist in the list of 339, unless i missed it :).

    SMS (text) notication option would be great to have as alot of our members use texting on their phones. Email works good too but push text woould be great to have as an option for communication. Thanks.

    Text messaging service is available in the Communication center for US and Canadian customers. 

20. Customization of Email sent during Membership Level Change workflow

    When a member changes there level, the system automatically sends them an email. Since there is an option to choose "manual payment", we need to be able to add our physical address to the email.

    Customizing level change email was released live back in 9.0 and now is available for all clients as part of new membership level setup UI.

    NB: it's not available in legacy membership level UI
