Mobile app for members - register for events, search directory
Current situation:
Our mobile app is only accessible to administrators of an organization.
Desired situation:
Have a native app (apple + android) that useful for members (e.g. register for events, view directory, edit profile, etc)
Mobile app for members is available now. See help page for details: https://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Wild+Apricot+member+app
Please, don’t add feature requests here in comments. It is better to create separate topics so other people could vote for them.

Agree with Walt's post! The functionality of the App is thin anyhow and will do nothing for us personally. I could care less about an Android device for myself but I have to stand up for our members who do. This should not be marked resolved. And does that mean there will be an additional price increase if/when the do it?

Whoa, Nellie! This request is "Have a native app (apple + android) ..."So it should NOT be marked resolved until the app is available on Android. I'm not going to tell half my members that they are second-class.
I try to avoid asking when something will be done. But since the app is being touted as part of the mitigation for WA's 30% rate increase, I think it's a reasonable question.

The stat is based on usage of mobile app for admins.

Thanks for the explanation. I suggest you also post it in the Android app thread.
Googling briefly, I see Android and iOS about 50-50. Are your usage stats collected from members accessing WA websites on mobile?
You will not get an accurate measure of the app's acceptance without an Android version. I won't roll it out to our club and make half the members second class citizens. Others are saying the same thing in the Android thread and on the Tribe. Please take this into account when evaluating your stats.
-
Walt, understand - but we have created a separate thread for Android app, this is easier to manage.
By the way, our stat shows that usage of iOS vs Android is in average 4:1 - we have 4 times more people using iOS than Android. This why we started with this platform.
Also, I want to share that before starting the development we were not sure if the app would worth the money spent, so this is kind of an experiment after all - to see if the functionality and acceptance of the app is on proper level to continue development investments.
Android app is something we will definitely build if we see good stats on current app.

Make the forum part of the WA app! It needs to be easy to use in order to get my members to have conversations in WA over Facebook!
Just copied what Kim Stegeman said... many of our members do not like FB and would like to have ease of use of the forum.
-
Bob - access to member directory can be controlled by admin.
-
Bob Harr commented
The member mobile app sounds great but for member privacy access to the directory should be selectable (on / off) by system admin.

Not sure if this has come up in another comment but having the ability to brand our WA app (with a logo for example) would be amazing!

The app needs to do for members much of what they can do on the web. They complain when things are left out. I.e. register, pay, directory, profile. They are still asking when can they cancel on the web - that's needed on mobile too. We need all of the admin functions too, which is severely limited right now.

Would love it if your app had a member version where administrators could push out program information and membership renewal information

Our organization also would like to have this member-version app for its members to use. It can be branded with Wild Apricot's logo with the organization's logo or name displaying once the member logs in and the software knows the organization. Is this app being developed? If so, what is the expected release date?

If you aren't going to develop a member app, can't you develop an app to allow for forum access, or to create access to forums via Tapatalk?

Members mobile software. As another comment said, many of our members don't use computers but rely solely on their phone. Access to administrator specified web content as read only.

It would be awesome if there was an app for the members so they could access the directory on their phones without going online and logging into the site.

Please work on making the emails look the same as they look when they are sent out. We are having difficulty with the formatting.

We have built a beta version of this app for a small group in KC MO and will have version 1.0 ready to launch at the end of August. It will include iOS and Android apps, Contact info for Members and Admin, Events and Calendar, and we will be working on adding push notifications before the end of the year. If you have interest in this app please contact me at josh@phisionary.com or call 816-200-1809.

While the web site is moderately mobile friendly, it takes minutes to load on the poor internet on our island community. The mobile app takes just seconds to load, and has a much nicer interface to look up events and see the member directory. We want our members to see it!
