Increase default profile photo size
Right now, the system resizes member profiles to a tiny 110px x 110px. This is true of any additional custom member photo fields we could add.
It's time for WA to increase this size or at least reserve a copy of the original upload:
1) so we can offer a decent profile photo on the profile page;
2) because most new phones and tablets and laptop devices offer retina imagery (or higher), which displays at 3x the resolution and so makes these low res 110px x 110px look really terrible.Time for an update!

subscription for updated photos
Social forums are great. Users can subscribe and get an update anytime something changes in their topic(s) of interest.
We need the same concept for uploaded Photos. Each Member can subscribe to get updates any time a new photo is updated in a specific album/page.
By having this, Members would be automatically sent updates that they can visit the website. Sometimes, a little prodding is good to help with adoption AND this is when something NEW has been added. Going to a site and viewing all of the albums looking for new photos can be a waste of time.

photo library access
As an organization of visual artists, we wish the templates were more compelling. Also, I wish admin could retrieve photos from member profiles for our general website gallery use (gallery showcase, homepage slideshow, etc)....is there any way the members could check off a permission box when they upload their photos so we can access and add the images to our library?

Modern way (s) of displaying picture galleries and slide shows.
Please update gadget for image display: gallery slide show with clickable images that will open a gallery with all images inside, easy image navigation within the slide show. Huge buttons under the slide show is really bad choice for 2017. The gallery tool is really outdated. Take a look how WIX.com handling images and make this available for us, please!!!!

Gadget that lists member photo albums all on one page.
The member photo galleries seem to be a much better feature than the regular galleries, since members can create folders, etc. I'd love to have a site "gallery" page that just lists the individual folders created in the member photo galleries (newest first, etc). All of them though, not just the most recent 5 or whatever.

Automatically post updates to Instagram, FB, or other social sites
Add a way to update my Photo Gallery automatically with photos I post to Instagram or Facebook, or a widget on a page to show my latest Instagram or Facebook photos.

Upload images the right side up
Read the EXIR file so that images are uploaded right side up. Apple reads the file, Wild Apricot should as well.
It is unacceptable for Wild Apricot to make necessary for its customers/members to spend money and time, essentially doing the work that Wild Apricot should have done and can do, hence read the EXIR file.
If you had a photo load upside down, it is because Wild Apricot is not reading the EXIR file.
Why should I do your work for you and get charged a fee?

Updates to new insert image dialog
The latest update does not let me see the entire picture file name. I can't copy the picture and add it to a folder and I can't move the picture to a folder. Makes it hard to organize them. Also, can't rename the pictures, but can rename folders at least. Maybe I'm missing something, as this is the first look I've had at the 10/29/15 update. Hope I can find some work around or it's going to be difficult to get the work done that I need to do now.
4 votesDuring complete redesign we have consciously removed some features from old dialog in sake of ease of use or just development timeline.
We will gradually update dialog with new features/improvements, meanwhile Please post any ideas you have into this thread.
Meanwhile you can use old file management under Website-Files tab in admin backend -
File Management
I wish I could actually delete folders (although I’ve discovered I can do that when in WebDev mode).

Replace existing photo instead of adding new one when uploading a file with same name
I wish uploaded photos would replace a previous version even if it has the same name instead of ignoring the request, forcing me to rename the photo (even if it’s been deleted!).

Limit number of member albums by membership level?
We would like to offer the photo album feature as a benefit of memberhship. And we'd like to offer an increasing number of albums as membership level increases. For example, one album for a basic membership, and 3 albums for a premium membership.
Currently, it appears that wild apricot tools only provide for equal access to albums by all members. Could this be revised to help us encourage members to go up a level in membership?

Photo Album - Storage Management or more space
For some organizations the photo albums are essential but difficult to manage. Creatives need the ability to share their works in images, but may not be capable of managing their storage use effectively. And there are no built-in tools for the administrators to monitor or manage storage use effectively.
A quota for storage that could be set at the membership level (and perhaps overridden at the member level for special cases) would help to let members self-manage their storage use.
Reporting of storage use by member would also be of benefit to the administrators. Perhaps there is already a tool…
