Registrant to view and change his event registrations
Current features:
Once registered, a person can not change anything (i.e. cancel/edit details) about their registration, this can only be done by the administrator
Desired behavior:
Registrants should have the ability to view and edit their own event registration(s)
Hello, dear supporters!
We’re happy to announce that now your registrants can view and cancel registrations.
This suggestion has accumulated many votes and comments. As usual, we started with the main needs and some of your requests are not covered in this release.
What released:
- All registrants now can view all their event registrations in one place. There is new tab ’My registrations’ in the profile.
- You, as administrator, can allow them to cancel their registrations and specify cut-off date if required.
- We added new email – Event registration cancelled. This message is sent when a registration was cancelled, either by an administrator or by the registrant.
What is not covered yet:
- Managing late event cancellation (cancellation fee) – https://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932/suggestions/8826904
- Adding guests later or changing existing ones – https://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932/suggestions/8827063
- Changing registration details https://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932/suggestions/32407099
Check our help page for more information about these changes and others, that we added in this release – https://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Release+5.15
We hope you’ll like it. Please leave your feedback any time by email, by using in-product feedback form and use our Wishlist for sharing your new suggestions.
Thank you for your patience and have a great day!

Members need to be able to see what events they have registered for.

Where an event is free it would be very useful to allow the registrant to cancel their own registration without having to refer to an administrator

Echoing Kathryn's post. We were under the impression that members would be able to see what they had signed up for. This is a big problem for us.

Our members need to be able to see what they've signed up for. This is one of the reasons we went with Wild Apricot - because we understood that people would be able to see what events they had signed up for. It's important to avoid people cancelling at the last minute when they finally get their reminder email, but had previously forgotten what they registered for.

What happened to the portion of the roadmap that listed features that were in design and implementation queues but not scheduled? I don't see it any more.

I'm looking for the status of allowing guests to self-edit certain portions of the registration. I would like for guests to be able to add or delete themselves from check box items not related to monetary transactions up to a pre-set date.

I am very interested in users being able to view their event registration history. Most of our events are free so allow users to cancel registrations would also be desirable.
-
maciu - good to hear about design. About the roadmap - not this year, it's been planned already. Next year is unclear yet.

The proposed design looks really good - exactly what I would need. Any chance this will be placed on the roadmap soon?

When there is no fee for an event please can you give an option for the person to cancel themselves. When setting up the event you just need a tick box for the admin "allow registrant to cancel" yes or no.
And if people could view their event registrations in their profile that would help. Long gone are the days when people would hunt through their email for an event confirmation.
We have a lot of free online events and people forget what they are registered for

Agree that automatically issuing refunds is undesirable. Agree that event admins should be notified when changes (including cancellations) are made. Agree that it should be possible to lock a registration (preferably) or a whole event.

Thanks for feedback.
The list of registrations is included in the solution of another feature - Self-service on event registrations. All details presented in this post: http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8825602-registrant-to-view-change-his-event-registrations

I support this 100%. We have added this functionality via client side java script because we felt like it is the first thing a person wants to see after logging in. Show me my events.
This should be a standard feature and probably a widget. The way I am doing it is using upcoming events widget and looking for 'Already Registered' via JavaScript and hide the rest.
It would not be difficult to implement. Add a toggle for it to events widget ?

It would be nice if there were an option to cancel an event and have it appear in the upcoming events with a big red slash that says "cancelled". My only option currently is to delete the event so someone goes to the website and thinks "I could have sworn they had this event coming up". I want the viewer to know that the event was cancelled.
Most of our events don't include registration.

Another task this feature could accomplish is refunding payments. You could have the option to "refund all payments" or "keep payments as an available balance". In the case of our event tomorrow we decided to refund all payments, so again, I'm going one by one and refunding each (then we'll also have to go one by one in PayPal).
If there was a way that someone could log-in and see their available balance (a personalized link when they log in to the members-only section?) then we would have gone with the available balance approach. But, since people can't access their own finances, we had a feeling we'd be bombarded with questions and just decided to refund all.

I understand the challenges that the user, organization & WA face to allow people to cancel registrations. The ability to view registrations should be considered as a separate wish list and de-couple it from the ability to cancel.
One significant problem is people cannot view the events for which they are registered. Over a few months, we offer dozens of programs and some people are just not very good at remembering to write down which events they've registered, they misplace the confirmation emails, etc. -- this feature would allow people to verify that they are in an event.
For events with a fee, they can look at their Financial Transactions (not a very intuitive process for many), but when the event is free (close to 100% of our programs are free to members) there is no way to view registrations, except to email an admin.
Admins can view the events that they are registered in, so can the developers include that feature for everyone when they log in?
Thanks for considering this!
This is a good first step (guests being able to cancel something they registered for), but we also need the ability for guests to edit / modify an existing registration.
This proposal will permit them to cancel and then re-register with the change.
It's not elegant but at least they can do it without waiting for an admin to respond.
The member will have an easier experience re-registering (and registering, for that matter) if all the fields can be pre-populated with whatever the member previously entered.

This is a good first step (guests being able to cancel something they registered for), but we also need the ability for guests to edit / modify an existing registration. We don't use the system for dollar transactions, so our request is much simpler than what other orgs may need.
