Donations shown on page
It would be nice to allow individual donations to show up ON the donation page. When someone does a charity run there is usually a way to donate and also post a message of support. This encourages others to do the same. Of course you can always choose to donate anonymously but most don't.

importing donations
We need to be able to import a list of donations from a spreadsheet. We collect a lot of donations by check, and entering them one at a time is time consuming and prone to error. Thanks.

Need different "Amount" settings per donation gadget
Need the ability to customize the system field "Amount" settings per donation gadget - e.g. one donation form lets people fill in their own amount, but another uses pre-set amounts. Right now there's only a single setting for all gadgets.
Also would be good to have a per-gadget setting for who gets the donation notifications.

in kind donations
We'd love to have a receipt developed for in-kind donations to our fundraising auctions! The receipt would state a dollar value of the item but would not affect the account statement of the member. This would be in addition to our donation letter we send to the donor.

Donation report showing payment system fees
While the system allows you to add in how you receive donations; cash - check - PayPal, when you go to run a report, the system does not take into account PayPal fees. Would be extremely beneficial to have those fees taken out when run report.
This is the same when hold an event & people with PayPal, run a report & have the fees taken out.

Donation Goal Gadget should take into account donations that had to be refunded
I would like the Donation Goal Gadget to take into account refunds made of payments mistakenly made as donations.
It probably sounds strange that we have to refund donations but it happens. Sometimes members make a donation online when they really meant to pay membership dues. In order to set the record straight, we "refund" the donation and manually record it as payment of dues.
The Donation Goal Gadget appears to be based on "collections" only (without subtracting donations that have been refunded) and thus is overstating the amount we've collected. I would like for the gadget to reflect the…

Make a Donation via Text Message
1) allow SMS Text of a keyword (e.g. donation category/type) to Short Number
2) WA asks how much would you like to donate to the 'org' 'keyword description'
3) device holder sends amount 'XXX'
4) WA sends confirmation text w/URL for needed completion activities in response
5) Donor completes
6) WA puts donation through payments processing as set up on WA website:-)

Donation Confirmation emails
I have some donations coming in that are paid by check. I have figured out how to manually record them in the Donations and can send a donation receipt, but cannot figure out how to send the Donation confirmation email (Thank you letter) manually and get the macros to populate. It would be nice to be able to acknowledge manual donations without going through a lot of manual steps. Has anyone come up with a quick way to do this?

Recording donations from non-contacts
In the "Record Donation" page, donor details, allow option to create a new contact immediately using the details provided where the donor does not have a record in the organization. Current method of adding a contact first, followed by donation, is somewhat cumbersome.

I would like a gadget that displays names of donors by donation level for a particular year or campaign, with the ability of the donor to opt out of being included in this display at the time they make the donation.

Single donation for multiple funds
Currently these is no way to direct a single donation to multiple funds. Our organization has several restricted funds, and many members will make a single donation but specify that there donation be applied to multiple funds. Example: A single donation of $75 is made, however the donator specifies that $25 goes to fund A, $25 goes to fund B and $25 goes to fund C. Having this capability would be an asset to our organizations donation/fundraising efforts.

Support "Sponsors" in addition to "Donors" at a system level
Most trade associations do not have "fundraisers" but more so "sponsors" the system needs to allow for this and create invoices for it. There is to much back end rigging needed to offer annual sponsorships & event sponsorships.

Donation categorization and tracking/management by member
Provide different contribution to types (i.e. PAC and Small Donor Committee). Include in membership record to allow individual member donations tracking by type, and ability to limit donations to categories to satisfy legal requirements. Donation as a advanced search type and reports by donation type by member would provide capability to encourage members and manage the legal requirements.

integrate the PayPal Giving Fund into Wild Apricot - so that we don't have to pay the transaction fees for donations
Nonprofits that are PayPal Giving Fund members can receive donations from PayPal and Ebay customers without any transaction fees. It would be very useful if there were an option in the donate widget that would allow this option.

PDF for the official tax Donation Receipt
We are just in the midst of switching over to wild apricot and I was very disappointed that when donations are made there is no option to send the official tax receipt as a PDF as it is not secure to send it as an email since it is too easy to change up the donation amount and date ect. Our current system sends an email after donation had been received thanking them and then letting them know they will receive a their tax receipt in another email attached as PDF please see email below

Donation Acknowledgement Internal Field
Hi! I would like to add a field to my database so that I can track whether or not our organization has sent a Thank You Note to a donor for their donation. This is NOT the same note as the system-generated confirmation of their online donation, this is a personal note written by our Executive Director. Bulk Donation Upload
Bulk Donation data upload. It should work pretty similar to bulk membership upload. For those of us migrating from other systems, this is a must-have solution unless you want to pay someone to upload 20 years of data.
