A true form-based Content Management System
For Email and Event entry, we need a true Content Management System -- where novice end-users can enter text and it is automatically dropped into a template that we design. You try explaining to some of our members why centered text is more readable; I've given up! And there are a lot of browser and mail-client quirks that need to be addressed expertly. They occur even if the HTML editor is never used, and they should not require HTML editing to fix. For example, your CSS image margin specs are totally ignored by Outlook 2010 and other mail clients. It…

Backup/Restore Events
Recently, a new WA admin mistakenly deleted our "gala" event with over 100 registrants - just a few days before the event.
Currently, WA Support cannot restore the event (or any events) - nor will a site backup recover the events. At best, WA Support Level II is hoping to recover some data...
This situation is probably not significant with respect to frequency. However, depending on the Event it can have a significant impact on a non-profit collecting funds, managing an event, and the perception regarding same.
Clearly, this situation can and has put WA and folks supporting same in…

Variable cost events
- In the Upcoming Events gadget, you should be able to NOT show multiple sessions for a multi-session event, just the event itself.
- For event payments, it would be good to have an option that doesn't have a fixed price, but allows the price to be calculated (e.g. number of classes x cost per class, where the classes are sessions of a single event).

Change word "Registration" to "Reservation"
Allow rewording of "Registration is Closed." We do not always begin an event's reservations period as soon as it is posted. Saying registration is closed can be misinterpreted as meaning the event is full. This, people won't come back when reservations actually open. Let us substitute "Registration is not yet open" or "Registrations begin (date)" or omit it altogether. And while your at it, let us say "reservations" not "registration"; it's the word we've used for decades, the person who takes reservations is the Reservationist (who ever heard of a "Registrationist"?) and we think it's friendlier. Not every event is…

Fields in Registration Forms
Fields in Registration Forms need a "disable" option so we can cut off sign-ups for paper submission (academic conference) three or so weeks before the event, and also cut off sign-ups for meals a few days before the event (because of caterer deadlines). Right now the only way to handle this is to backup the registration data (i.e., put it into "Excel Hell") and then delete the field, thus loosing the data it held. Better yet would be to have a date-specified cutoff such as is available for Registration Types.

Event Promo section for each Event that can be customized and included as a macro
- In an automatic promo email, is there a macro or something that will insert either just the first part of an Event’s description, or a shorter description we would custom-write (different for each event)? The reason for this is that some events have very long, detailed descriptions that would be inappropriate for a promo email, and/or disclose “too much” in the email. Often our aim is to drive them to the site for more information. But there is no macro that we can use, and we found no workaround, other than writing custom copy for each and every automatic email.

Add event detail to financial invoice reporting
Under financial reports/income - if a payment is made for an event, list the event (not just "event"). We have numerous trips and need to drill down on each to determine what trip is being paid for.

Manualy register several attendees for event
I would like to be able to manually register more than one contact/member at a time for an event, either through an import or by being able to put a check beside every contact/member I would like to manually register and being able to select "All" as well.

Recording Event Attendance
I would like to be able to more easily record attendance of MEMBERS at an event who don't pre-register for the event. Ideally, I’d like to be able to search the member database, find a member, and then be able to click on the event in question to indicate that he/she attended.

Speaker Registration
Allow "speaker" registration so that you can simply enter it in without it being counted towards the registration total / being billed.

Bulk import of event data form a structured file
Provide ability to import bulk event information from either an sql, excel file or tab delimited file. We have upwards of 60 events to enter three times a year. Now, each event has multiple cut an pastes to enter them in Wild Apricot.

Select contacts for registration as a group
When addiing Registrants to an event, it is very time consuming to have to go through several clicks for each registrant. It would be great to say add registrants, and the contact list opens so I could select multiple people at once. Registering 150 one by one is time consuming!

Reserved seating at an event (ticket sales)
It would be so great to be able to reserve specific seats at our HOA events, this is the only reason we are not using the reservation/tickets sales module.
I would like to be able to add a graphic of the seating arrangement which is hyperlinked and when clicked on would open a larger.pdf to see the seat id numbers. Then list them to be selected. When purchased they would be automatically be removed from the seating list. Like is done on airlines and sports events.10 votes -
Adding registration items from dropdown list to invoice
Haven't found this elsewhere so I'm suggesting it here. We'd like to be able to modify an existing invoice by adding additional existing registration types. We have a limited availability Golf Scramble (say 80 slots) but our conference is unlimited. Because of this the Golf Scramble is a separate event, otherwise it could potentially be oversold if it was incorporated in the conference registration.
We'd like to be able to edit the invoice to add the Golf Scramble (or other registration types) from a pick list or drop down, so that it is counted in the Golf Scramble registration type.

have events that have customizable data fields with UI support for data entry and validation
Currently contacts, members, and event registration forms have customizable data fields that offer user interface options to control data entry. This proposal is to provide that functionality to events as well. In addition existing data fields, including the event tag field, would also receive UI options including preset options. The UI elements could be used by both administrators and by members submitting event proposals. The data fields and their UI elements could be attached to any event; said event could be duplicated to make the UI elements available to administrators. When Wild Apricot has the ability to allow users to…

hidden event registration options
A hidden registration option that can be sent out as a link that does not show up on the event registration page that the public can see. This would be used to register presenters, sponsors etc., at events where they need to be part of the head count but do not pay to attend.

give you a warning before you change or modify anything in a registration form that you might be deleting or altering data.
There needs to be a pop up to warn administrators looking to alter or delete anything in a registration form. Doing so overwrites or deletes data, which is a nasty surprise.

It would be nice to have a gadget to list featured events on a page, such as the home page.
A featured event gadget could be used to list one or more selected event for a page, say the home page and allow the ordering of those selected events. Alternatively, a simpler gadget could display one featured event and if I wanted to feature more than one event I could use more instances of the gadget. The information displayed could be similar to the information displayed for an event on the "Upcoming Events" page, i.e., not the full information, but a teaser. A teaser tool, to give control over how much info to display would be nice.
