An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedI wonder if this really requires special functionality - to me it seems that it would be enough to include this restriction into level description.
If people chose to ignore it and apply anyway, date of birth field would not stop them - they would simply enter fake date.
Anyone else, thoughts?

An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedDavid,
Did you consider doing this via a special membership level? People would sign up for membership in that level and will get access to secure member-only area with that whitepaper.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedDavid, Thanks for posting, this is useful input. Our current thinking is to address this scenario when we implement the online store - see http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8825548-online-store-5506

An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedBecky, thank you, your ideas are much appreciated.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedBecky, there are different ways to track database history depending on the intended usage. What would really help us is a a detailed example of a couple of situations of how this might be used in your organization.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedThis is not currently possible - good point, I can see why this might be useful.

We just launched integration with Integromat platform, which helps to build automated workflows. We also provide several templates for quick start, and one of them allows to send birthday emails.
You can try the integration by this link https://www.integromat.com/en/integration/2274-happy-birthday-to-wild-apricot-members

An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedLet me check I understand:
- you are using WA in 'widget mode', embedding it into your existing webpage
- when people use 'forgot password' feature, the email they receive contains a link to a page on your WA site where they reset their password.
- they find it confusing because they have to do it on a website which they do not normally use directly.
Correct?

An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedCraig - I fully agree with everything you say.
It is a very important request and we accordingly assign it very high priority on our product roadmap - and it still has to be considered in the context of other highly important requests. Please see http://www.wildapricot.com/blogs/newsblog/2014/05/29/wild-apricot-software-roadmap-beyond-version-5 for the discussion of our roadmap and a link to live version.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedIan,
Yes, that's the plan - to address this soon after releasing the new CMS.
FYI, I highly doubt that indexing your member pages would affect *your site* Google ranking in any way. It *might* give *your member sites* a *tiny* boost - but unless they have great keyword reach descriptions in their profiles, closely related to your other site content, this would not affect your site ranking. In fact, it might have slight negative effect if it adds lots of outbound links (I assume that each member has a link to their own site on their profile page). SEO is a very complex area.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedIan, this is on our roadmap - but I currently see the priority of this as relatively low, given two things:
1) Few comments on this thread
2) As I understand, the idea is that your members will get a bit of SEO benefit by having a link from your site. It seems to me that this benefit would be imperceptibly small in most cases, given that it's just one link and that your own site is not a very high ranking site in Google.
One other factor is that we need to wait for version 5.0 (~late summer 2012) which will have new CMS and new architecture for displaying all functional pages, only then it would make sense to consider changes to member directory.
I would appreciate feedback.

An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedWhat do you mean by 'most current'? At the moments, events are sorted from the latest date to the earliest date (e.g. oldest event is at the very bottom). Can you elaborate how would you ideally see this changed?
-
39 votesDmitry Buterin supported this idea ·
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedIs this specific for event or broadly for emails? We have a separate thread for the latter but the former did not come up before I think.

An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedThe issue is that finance manager might need detailed access to original transaction records, possibly with ability to modify them and generate updated invoices. So it's not as simple as accessing the Finances tab (I think) - though the idea itself makes perfect sense since we have many clients with a dedicated 'treasurer' role and/or 'bookkeeper' role.
So I would highly appreciate ideas on what kind of access these roles should and should NOT have.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedWe have been thinking along these lines.
This would essentially be the treasurer, am I correct?
This make total sense, though I would like people to review our new financial management module once we receive the version 3.5 end of August - so that we can figure out all the screens/functions to enable/disable for this role.

An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedWell, we do not have a concept of a shopping cart yet - so people buy individual items only - membership application or event registration etc.
This is something we are working on though - both the shopping cart and discounts - but it is some time away.

An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedJustin - thanks for the input. We haven't done any work on this area - though it is now clear that we need to replace our generic 'bundle membership' functionality with properly designed dedicated functionality for families and for corporations. This thread is focused on the family membership and I would really appreciate if you could post a new thread with a detailed example of how corporate membership specifically would ideally work.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedYou are right, in our current design we do not have good functionality for handling family registrations.I would appreciate input from everyone who is dealing with families as we are trying to come up with the right design.I am thinking that there are two different aspects to this:1) When registering guests, it should be possible to specify the registration type for each guest. This can help with families and in other scenarios. There a thread dedicated to this:http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8826058-allow-to-select-registration-type-for-guests-7910 2) If a family is already setup in Wild Apricot (using 'bundles'), then there should be a simplified way to register the whole family. I do not think this is addressed in other threads so let's focus this thread on this topic.
(And one essential aspect of this is that bundles can not currently be properly used if emails are not available for each family member) Thoughts? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedWe no longer use the concept of 'incomplete transactions'. In your example, this would be a transaction with an unpaid invoice and it will be always shown in their profile and also special notification box, not just for 72 hours. Admins can clearly see which transactions were paid and which were not and contact unpaid ones if desired.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedIt's because we got rid of the concept of incomplete/abandoned transactions except for donations. All other transactions are only created when people click on Confirm and proceed to pay. Then they proceed to payment - but can bail out - so you can distinguish between unpaid and unpaid transactions (invoices).

I am hearing you! I am not sure though that tags is the best mechanism for what you are talking about. We have this separate thread about event coordinators and I would appreciate your comments there:

An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedYou mean like a separate 'Draft' version of a page, correct?
Would love to hear from other users on this.
For now a workaround is to duplicate a page and make it admin-only, then once satisfied with edits, delete old one and make new one visible. Or copy-paste HTML into the old page.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedyes, I meant the trial accounts - before they convert to free plan.
I understand this is not a long-term solution, but wanted to mention this workaround.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedIan, CSS customization is available in trial accounts so feel free to open trial accounts as needed for your testing.

An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedSorry, no, we have not decided yet when/if we are going to pursue this.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedThis is something we plan to do sometime in the future - but there is no specific timeline yet, we are still collecting comments and analyzing. I don't expect us to start any work on this at least for the next 12 months, sorry.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedSorry, no, we decided not to pursue this for the moment. At least for the next 18 months.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedOpening software - you mean like open-sourcing it? Sorry, not something we intend to do.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedVera, sorry, we have not made any decisions about this year even in the best case it is more than a year away.
An error occurred while saving the comment Dmitry Buterin commentedThe genesis of this request comes from this thread:
This thread is dedicated to the scenario where each chapter in your organization is maintaining its own website/database and there is a need to consolidate all chapter data on the national level.
As of version 3.5 Wild Apricot does not provide any way to consolidate data from chapters maintaining separate accounts. This thread is to outline our vision of a possible solution and we would highly appreciate your input to flesh this out in details and prioritize this.
In this scenario each chapter runs its own website - based on a separate Wild Apricot account. Chapter events and registrations and chapter member self-service (applying for membership, renewals) are handled on that website and within that particular Wild Apricot account.
National organization also runs its own website using another separate Wild Apricot account. It handles global events and registrations as well as membership for members who are not affiliated with any chapter (if any) (aka members-at-large), its own contact database etc.
National organization can provide links to individual chapter websites for their respective event calendars - or can embed them within its own website via Wild Apricot widgets. In a similar way, it can provide links to chapter membership applications or embed them within widgets on its own website.
Now to the gist of the matter: national organization would have some special functionality to access/ consolidate the data, e.g. :
- it will be linked up and listing the websites of its subordinate chapters, including membership counts
- ability to search membership records across all chapters
- ability to send out emailing across all members in all chapters
- income report by chapter
- ability for national organization admins to log in into any chapter account
We would greatly appreciate additional details and examples!

David,
I would appreciate some examples of what might go into such a footer.
Also, can you elaborate - what do you see as advantages of having a separate footer instead of including a desired footer in every email? Is it about the enforcement of including a specific standard footer?
