  1. Cloning website, but no ability to activate it.

When we want to modify a website (new layout, look, templates), we create a clone website to play with. We take hours to get it right, make sure it works. Yet there is NO way to copy that over to become our new active website. We must go back and spend hours again, starting from scratch, building a new website. That makes no sense to me, any other web hosting company I've worked with allows that feature easily. Please help....

  2. Automatic CSS syntax checker

When entering custom CSS through the CSS editor in the admin interface, it would be nice for CSS syntax to be checked on the fly before saving. It's pretty easy to make a syntax error and then beat your head against a desk thinking you are doing something wrong all because of a misplaced semi-colon or curly brace or wrong property name.

  3. Another display of Week calendar view

I’m looking for a compact horizontal bar to display what’s happening this week. The current display is not compact.

  4. Page visible to public, but not visible to members

We have a "Join today" page. I'd like to only make that page visible to people who are not members. Once you've logged in, there's no need to show the "Join Now" page.

In other words, I'd like to have "not" logic to the restrictions for the pages.

  5. Website Contrast for Low Vision

Many your standard website themes are not ADA compliant, particularly when it comes to contrast. Please add in ADA compliant themes and provide a way to switch to low-vision mode.

  6. top menu drop down section

I'm not sure if this has already been covered but I couldn't find it. Currently, when navigating to an internal section of my website, the top menu for that section loses its drop-down capability, meaning users have to navigate further using the side menu (which I hate and plan to remove), or go back to the home page. Is there a way to keep the drop-down capability of the top menus at all times?

  7. membership message

It would be great to have a website gadget that displays a member's expiration date and includes a renew button. For non-members it should display a join button. Would be helpful to be able to display this info on the home page or on events pages, rather than just the member profile page.

Alternatively, a customizable pop-up message that displays when the member logs in could get at this purpose. Pop up could draw from a field tied to the specific member, or to a specific member level. Would be great for it to be customizable/dynamic based on rules.

  8. Scheduled changes to website

Many organizations need to schedule repeated changes to the website for the public and members. There are scheduling features for email reminders and eblasts but no scheduling for website changes in Wild Apricot. It would be great to be able to

    1) make a change to a page or page template
    2) preview the change without making the change go public
    3) schedule the change to be applied

Changes should be possible to the same gadget. The schedules should be modifiable as well as cancellable.

This is the sort of feature many CMS products have using workflow control (draft, publish…

  9. Warning message on limitations of search function

Warn users that PDF and document on website are NOT searched - until this functionality is included.

I have thousands of files from 19+ years - impossible to turn to page content. When a user searches a website, they expect to, and it is reasonable, to be able to find content within files contained with in the website site.

Until this fixed, Wild Apricot should put a warning message up each time a user enters text in the search field, that it will NOT find the search word or phrase in any document associated with the site.

  10. Reviews posted on Website

As Google has changed their formulas for SEO yet again, it is my understanding that on-site reviews are increasingly important. The blog is almost good emough to use, but not quite formatted correctly. We need something to be able to add reviews

  11. Replace Outdated Fonts

The available fonts are extremely outdated. I wish there was a way to add some modern fonts. I see that others have posted this request.

  13. Add Public-coming soon Access Level with link to default coming soon page

Add a "Public - coming soon" option to access level for pages. Currently we use admin only when building pages or for pages that are only turned on for part of the year.

Additionally make it so any links to those while still in "Public - coming soon" showed a default coming soon page that could be configured rather than the default 404 page. This could work using the admin only option currently available as well but it makes it much more clear to distinguish between a true admin only page and a public page that just isn't ready to…

  14. Website Pop-Up Opt-in Featrure

It would be great if WA offered a Pop-Up Opt-In Form on their website builder feature. This would help grant permission from prospective members to authorize your obtaining their email address, oppose to sending them emails without permission.

Just like there is an ability to assign a custom landing page for membership levels, it would be beneficial to configure a custom landing page for groups.

  18. change theme colors

I'd like a simple way to change the default colors of a theme. For example, I like everything about a particular theme, except for the 2 shades of blue that are used (I'd like to match them to my existing logo). It would be great if there was an easy way to change this in the whole site, rather than using Colors and Styles and CSS to change the blues wherever I find them.

  19. Allow Contact Profile as an Entry in Site Menu

Now that members can see and print their membership cards from their profile, we want to give them a less circuitous way to get there, by putting the profile in the dropdown menu.

In the meantime, a workaround is to create a dummy page that redirects to the profile page. This is done by creating a page with text (ours says "One moment, please" to display something sensible while redirecting) and inserting the following snippet in the text box with the <S> tool:

    <script type="text/javascript">
    if (!top.adminpanel) {

    try { window.location.href = 'https://tyc.org/Sys/Profile' ; } catch (e) {}…

  20. Add bundle administrators as a visibility setting for restricted web pages

This proposal is to add bundle administrators as a separate toggle for setting the visibility of restricted web pages and gadgets. The toggle would be listed as a "bundle administrators only" sub-option within each membership level or as a global "bundle administrators only" option across all membership levels.

Our organization makes a clear distinction between what a bundle administrator can do and what the other members of the bundle can do. I suspect that other organizations do the same.
