   There are situations where a group needs to be administered by admin. and not open to members to join. Example: Special committee created by the BoD. Use of group identifies the committee members.

   Today, the generic setting allows members to select any and all groups. In other words, some groups membership needs to be controlled, while others need to be open to all members.
