Mapping location of members
For trade associations, it would be great for companies to be able to indicate where they are located, so everyone can search for local companies.
then to sort and map companies by their indicated locations, would be phenomenal.

Happy to announce that ‘Members location mapping’ feature is released for all our clients in version 6.11.
Now, with our new gadget, you can display an interactive map that shows where your members are located, and displays information about each member.
We highly recommend reading the setup instruction: https://gethelp.wildapricot.com/en/articles/1601

Matt D'Ercole commented I am digging the new feature. However...Is there any way to turn off the "map cluster count" option and just put pins in the location? I know this creates overlapping pins, but our members would much prefer the multiple overlapping pins to the "cluster counts" that show up in the more populated areas.

Scott Overpeck commented That's fantastic. I didn't realize how simple it was to create a widget from scratch by simply editing the template.
-
Scott, any page of your WA website can be used as the widget, you just need to place /widget after the domain name, like http://yoursite.wildapricot.org/widget/pageURL
More details and instructions you can find on this help article: https://gethelp.wildapricot.com/en/articles/222#other

Scott Overpeck commented digging the mapping feature. does exactly what i need with one small but incredibly important for us detail. I currently cannot seem to get it to show up in the widgets page on the settings page. This means that while it looks awesome, I cannot add it to our wordpress website which is the only way our members access anything from us. Is there something I'm missing or is this a later addition?

commentedHi, I submitted my interest in participating - as this would be like gold to have this functionality - but as of yet I haven't heard anything. Could you please advise if this option to participate is still open?

commentedThis is what I need right now. The members on my site are made up of mechanics from all over. When a customer from Anywhere, USA needs a mechanic to come work on their tractor they can enter their zip code and find a match. Is it still a work in progress?

commentedI'd love to be able to show where our Members are located on a Google map.
This would be handy to show Members who they are near to for possible socials.
Plus, it would be great to be able to decide what level of info to include:
From a simple marker, to Members name and even clickable email contact link.
-
Debborah, it will be possible to select any 5 membership fields to be displayed on the marker pop up. The first will be used as link to member profile. Nat

commentedCan I ask one question - the thread attachment shows how this gadget will display members Address details only. Will it be possible to select a range of other membership fields to be displayed on the map?
We need the member address, plus several other membership fields which indicate the member's availability, speciality, skills etc.

commentedThanks Team Astra! This will be a fantastic addition to the system - well worth the increase in subscription fees. I look forward to it.

commentedWe have farmers markets as members, and we would like to display a simple, interactive map on our website through the member directory site page/wordpress widget so that our website visitors can get a visual on where our markets are located.

commentedThank you, thank you, thank you. I do work for two non-profits in the medical field. This would allow patients to find help so much easier. I ask for it a while back. Can't wait for this feature. I like someone's comment about being able to post detailed information and posting with only the postal code to keep certain members anonymous.

commentedSo glad to hear about this feature. We've made a broot force map about once every 5 years so be sure we are promoting events where large groups of our members live. We also get occasional requests for members to find minders in their area. So glad this is being worked on.
