Just before importing, display example table of import data fields
Display 5 or 6 examples lines of imported data, BEFORE actually importing. Reason: Somehow the phone numbers failed to import, even though I thought I'd checked everything carefully. Seeing a table of sample data for several records would have clearly shown me that the phone number column was empty.

Export templates: save and reuse columns to export
Allow several templates to be created in the Export registrants in each Event. You currently can either export all information (a button) of pick each thing that you want to export. To make the program easier for novices to use, we need the webmaster to create standard export templates/reports. Currently a set of instructions need to be given to new users on exactly which buttons to select to get the exact export report we need.
We need somebody to select all the fields and then save/name the report for them to use. You already have a select all button just…17 votes -

Increase Field Length
Please increase field length. When I import a member's profile text from Excel and from Quickbooks notes, it truncates the text and doesn't give me an error message either. Would like to be able to add a person's history relevant to their membership. It is way too short.

Export Invoice data to Access database or TXT files
I would like a new Invoice Export to assist me to getting invoice data to access to print many invoices at one time via a report.
The export format would be either an access database (or individual text files that could be easily imported as individual tables into an Access database). It would understood that a custom invoice would need to created in Access by the Exporter.
The tables or individual files would mirror exactly what is returned when looking at the Macro button when editing Invoice Settings in Wild Apricot. The high level breakdown of the tables or individual…

Sort alphabetically by Last Name and then First Name (not ID) when exporting
I have multiple contacts in my database with the same last name. As it stands now, when I export a list to excel, the default is that they are sorted by last name and then user ID (not first name) so my contacts do not end up in alphabetical order in the output (John Smith listed above Adam Smith, etc). I have to remember to sort them myself in Excel every time I export a list.

import groups
Hello,
We are experiencing some difficulty importing lists from lets say,
Constant Contact to Wild Apricot. We have created "saved searches" and
there are contacts who belong to several "groups" we have created in WA.However, when we are uploading a fresh list to a group from CC to WA, it will upload to that specific group AND wipe out all other groups the constituent belongs too.
It's not a very intuitive process and I advise WA create a warning sign
that pops up before importing "this import will override any group the
contact belongs to, are you sure you…10 votes -
Seperate Data and Time in Data Exports
Add a separate database column for time. Date and time combined is a pain to sort in excel.
Also allow for member levels and created on date to event registration reports to help for priority seating lists.

Bulk import/uploads of file attachments, like member ID photos.
I'm converting to Wild Apricot, and have over 700 members to add to the database. I can upload everything from a spreadsheet except their ID photos, which have to be uploaded one at a time using the GUI. I would like the ability to include a column in the upload data spreadsheet that can contain the URL paths to the photo for each member, and have the photos uploaded with the rest of the data. Yes, this will make the upload take much longer, but not nearly as long as manually loading over 700 pictures.

importing data from other CRM software
currently our organization uses salesforce and has used it for the last 10 years. if we were to transition to WA, it would be invaluable to be able to bring that information over. i don't know what the export file looks like, but i imagine there are many transaction details for each member, as well as renewal information, and notes.

Remove Auto Email when Exporting
I would like an option to turn off the automatic email that comes when you download information (like financial transactions, event lists, etc. We make multiple small downloads a day and there is not a need for notification.

Importing: skip existing contacts
Would be very nice to have an option to ignore existing contacts when importing, rather than allowing records to be updated. So that only unrecognised end up being created as new contacts. This is important when importing from lists where the quality of personal information data might not be as good as what already pre-exists in the database. (Esp for people who are members).

Exporting of credit card type
It would be really great if there was a way to export the type of credit card used in the payment export. We balance our deposits into our bank account and American Express is deposited separate from all other bank cards. It would be great to export the payments from a certain time period, sort by credit card used and then calculate totals by card type so we can reconcile our bank statements. Currently it is a manual effort.

Export Blog Content
My reading of this forum this morning leads me to believe there is no way of extracting blog posts from the Wild Apricot CMS. Is this true? Across the board, meaning even WA staff cannot export the content? Or, a support request to the WA technical staff can solve this issue?
Thanks

Import of Legacy Subscriptions
We must migrated to WA and the one thing I couldn't do which would be nice would be to import email subscription options from our old system. The import function didn't allow me to select the Subscription field even though it's a field that can be exported.
This was my work around. I created groups that matched each of our subscription options and imported to them. I then created saved queries that included anyone subscribed to that option OR anyone in that group to continue sending to the same people. The problem is people who want to unsubscribe can't do…

Import Program Should Not Include Hidden "Notes" Field
There is a field called Notes that is an internal use field. This field is "hidden" in the sense that is does NOT show up in the Contacts or Members fields lists.
This causes confusion because upon import, the import program will attempt to match an imported field name of Notes to this internal use field called Notes. This causes confusion because the admin doing the import will not remember creating a Notes field (because they didn't) and won't see it in the Fields lists (because it isn't there).
I would HIGHLY recommend you either add this field to the…
