We have two main levels of membership, meetings and individuals. Some members are registered in both levels and normally only have one email address. They are not the sort of people who are going to cope with setting up alternate email addresses.

Also, the Common Fields do not sit neatly with the application forms for the two classes of membership. Any workaround makes for a long, complicated and confusing form. Our members are not going to cope with this.

So we have had to buy two plans, one for each. They each work perfectly separately but trying to combine the data into one plan didn't work at all. However, our membership numbers mean that one plan would be more than sufficient for all our needs. It also makes life a bit more difficult for our admins when they have to switch members membership levels.

Can we please have the ability to have two separate systems for different classes of membership in one plan, so that individuals can be registered twice using the same contact details.

The goal is to have the chapter presidents have access to the event and no one else. (they would register all their members as "guests"). the individuals must have approval from the presidents to take part in the event and the presidents are responsible for payment.

a second level of membership OR a way to limit access to an event registration is what i was searching for.

i have had to create a chapter president member level - then created the event with access for that group only. now i must change the membership status of all the presidents and then when the event is over i will need to go back in and reset all their member levels to what they were before (and in accordance with our by-laws/rules etc).

an additional level or perhaps some kind of designation allowing registration access would be the answer for the recurring event (yearly).

You can create additional registration type of Chapter Presidents only. Why doesn't it work out for you?

Because you can create events that are accessible ONLY to certain membership types we would like to allow certain members (Chapter Presidents) to have a second membership level.

These chapter presidents will register individuals (that have/need chapter approval) for a certain event.

This would be SO useful.

We would definitely use multiple membership levels. We have several basic membership levels. But members may add-on additional privileges to their basic membership. Right now, we are planning to use a PayPal shopping cart for members to purchase those add-ons. Then, members who purchase an add-on are assigned to a group (of others who have added on the same privileges).

I think we're really talking about a fundamental change. Where now there is a one-2-many relationship between members and groups, we also need a prior one-to-many relationship between 'contacts' and members, so the one email address (contact) can take out several memberships.

I would appreciate additional comments from anyone with a similar need.

Specifically, I would love to get detailed examples of what exactly would be included in each subscription. (I am mulling over an idea where people would have one membership level but would separate be able to buy one or more subscriptions, e.g. for access to some content areas)

Why not? Why would you not want my money? This makes no sense.

I am too evaluating this package, and I am working on offering multiple products for sale, and have the same dilemna.

I already figured that I would purchase the Community package if I could get some of these issues resolved. $50 a month is at stake.

* Inability for having multiple concurrent memberships (multiple different-price-point products)- I just learned ..."Not in the cards".

-- So I figure that now I really don't have to use WA as a payment services gateway, cause I have to find another solution anyways to sell multiple different-price-point products. Another instance that I am giving my money to another vendor. And WA is ok with it. Still strange, but true. And then I have started to question, why even use this platform at all, if I have to outsource every component that I need?

I have ignored my family for many days, and have been burning the midnight oil learning all I can working to get my site up as fast as possible-to then work on the bugs, and now I get to shop for a different platform, because of these two major things that are not in the cards. I am not a technical guy, but I will learn it if I have to. Really, I can't do multiple price point products from a membership perspective? I still can't believe it. My marketing plan is in place, I am set to launch next month, and I need to go somewhere else?

This is like owning a Ford pickup truck. Not a lot of great features, but very reliable. I would like to get better MPG, so I buy a Toyota truck of off lots of recommendations, and I learn to love it. I buy a couple of Toyota's back-to-back and recommend them to everyone I meet. And then I find out the automaker was hiding problems, and really is not that reliable. Even though I have not had any problems, I can't risk the chance of dying. So what do I do? I go back to Ford, Steady, reliable, with no frills, even though I want to pay for the frills of Toyota. And what will I end up doing? I will find another automaker to like, learn to love it, and pay them my money for the frills. Will I come back to Toyota? Why would I? There are so many other choices.

Or McDonald's, whom can't figure out how to make a variety of healthy food, that isn't supersized that tastes good.

And so I search some more...I already found another site that does what WA does not do, though the interface sucks, and they do not allow recurring payments.....who does the market research to build these hosting packages? If someone could just figure it out, they would get my money. I would be willing to put up to about $75 per month for that hosting package.

Wow (shaking my head), I still can't believe I have to go find a new hosting service.

Sorry, this is still on the wishlist - not even on our roadmap so for now it is not clear when we might be able to address this - if at all.

I do hope this is something WA will consider adding in the next release. We have a football information site that is organized into three categories. We are sure that there will be some coaches who are going to want more than one membership or subscription. But, right now, they can only choose one.

Is there some kind of work-around so that the same member can choose more than one membership?

Our website, www.collegecoachcontacts.com hasn't been marketed yet because we are still working out the bugs. This is the big bug that is still remaining. Can someone at WA take a look and tell us how a new member can get all three memberships if they wanted?

This would solve our dilema. We are trying to run a cub / scout group and most information and events are for either cubs or scouts not both. Most members are actually the parents of cubs and scouts, so we want to keep them informed and not anoyed, that means sending relevant information and event invites to either cubs or scouts, seldom both.

Problem is, parents sometimes do have a child in cubs and scouts, so we could not use Cub or Scout membership, we have used Parent. We have used Groups to seperate cubs and scouts, so membership = parent, group = either cub or scout or cub and scout, but we are finding neither Membership type nor Group membership useful to limit event announcements and the process of doing advanced search to constrain on Group membership when doing email blasts is too complex for our Group Leaders. The email blast history soes also not show who the blast was send to, ie Cubs or scouts.

Perhaps allowing multiple membership would help our situation, but giving Groups greater power in WA would have a greater benefit as it offers multiple concurrent grouping options in addition to the single Membership type.
