Hi supporters,
Today the Wild Apricot online store functionality was enabled for all paid accounts. We did our best to roll it out earlier than it was expected so you could try it out before the day of price increase.
Please fill out this survey to let us know what is missing in the initial version so we could define the followups:

Thanks for all the support and help during beta-test.

any update on this, we are looking to start selling our logoed products on our site, and don't want to use 3rd party software.

We sell reports to our members. The software in the Events section could be easily adapted to allow for payments for specific items that are not events or membership renewal.

Hi, Jeanne!
Thanks for posting this. We will definately add upsales together with applications and registrations, but not right away. In our first public version we will add only most basic online store capabilities for selling products from catalog.

I may have asked this before: Please try to make this new feature integrate with event registrations. We have a huge need to collect materials fees for classes at the time of registration, but we need for these fees to be accounted for separately from the basic class fee. The current system that allows for upcharges (such as special meals at an event) lumps all of the money in together, so it does not work for us. Nor would it work for us to make someone complete two transactions (one for registering, one for materials fee). They need to be part of the same shopping cart system.

Additional to comment below - we want the public to be able to purchase from store to support our organization - not just members....
Thank you!

We have a need to sell eBooks online. So we need to be able to sell individual or group items, and then once paid, they need to be able to download the eBook. So it would be helpful for them to get some kind of code, or for it to register via their membership that they are permitted to download a paid for eBook, or whatever mechanism would be easiest to implement and hopefully not too arduous for the user.
Thank you! -

Just an aside- we've created an integration with Formstack, Webmerge and the Wild Apricot API to enable custom sales and distribution of electronic documents in PDF format. Contact us for more details.

We also have a need for recurring purchases, e.g. monthly, quarterly etc. that schedule and bill similar to membership fees.
Currently we use WA to charge membership fees for our club division but this is actually a fiction to allow us to use WA at all. Actually our club division is one division of our larger organization which charges an annual membership fee and the club "membership" fees are regularly scheduled user fees to the members of our larger organization who elect to use the club. We are currently using internal accounting to deduct the larger organization membership fee from the user fee.
Putting our case aside I can see other scenarios where members want to purchase regular services on a time period basis with options for recurring payments etc.

I think for shopping is better to use external software, like https://wordpress.org/plugins/scottcart/

We also need this feature for books and certificates.

Our organization would likely only sell gift certificates, but this would still be a useful feature. Members currently have to mail us a check. The Products tab could be like the Events or Donations tabs, with its own set of custom Product fields. The predefined fields would be Title and Amount. Each item would also have checkbox options to add a charge for shipping (along with the amount), and whether to charge tax. Just like with events, the admin could set a quantity limit. The invoicing and payment process could be the same as for events and donations. Products would need its own receipt and confirmation emails, so admins could include shipping info, return policy, and other details related only to products. Just like events, the sale of products should be able to be restricted to certain member levels. On the admin view of a contact, there would be an additional tab for Products that shows their purchase history, just like with events and donations. Duplicating the same basic structure as Events seems like it would be the easiest way to make a simple shop happen. The only brand new coding would be for the gadget to display the items to the members, and optionally a “cart” that shows what items they’ve already selected before going to payment (just like their event registration details before they pay). I’d also like to add that I agree with other users that this whole “module” should be an optional add-on for those who want it, so it doesn’t slow down sites who don’t want it.
If WA doesn’t want to develop and maintain such a system (because based on the comments, there would be a lot more requests after this), perhaps there’s an open source commerce system out there that could be decently integrated, just like you’ve integrated payment processors.

An on-line shop where not for profits could retail various items e.g. promotional items for the organisation, books etc.

Since internal development isn't available, is there an integration option or suggestion?

An online store for logo'd goods would be great to incorporate. We would want pricing per item, sizing options so a user can select, shopping cart, some type of inventory management and payment to the club capabilities.
On the inventory mgmt, we would have to supply some data on sizes available and a quantity. The system should be able to keep an accurate count based on what is ordered and potentially let us know when something is 'low'. Maybe a report on inventory could be created. We would be willing to help with use case and requirements as well as alpha/beta test.

I would really like this option. I am currently loosing money because I can't sell product with out making it a hassle for my customers to go through a separate site. I would be willing to pay a few extra dollars a month to have the added on feature. I would have to pay 10-15 a month now to add an embedded store. But my invoices wouldn't all be in the same place.

We would like to sell a few logo'd items like polo and rugby shirts. This function would be very useful.

A store gadget would help us sell one-of items like an exhibitor table or advertisement space in our conference programs as well as the other organization merch others have mentioned.

I'd like to see a very simple e-commerce ability so that clubs can sell a small range of merchandise items, e.g. coffee mugs, lapel pins, etc.

Having an ecommerce section in Wild Apricot would be huge and very valuable for many associations. Please keep us updated as to when this would happen!
