Mapping location of members
For trade associations, it would be great for companies to be able to indicate where they are located, so everyone can search for local companies.
then to sort and map companies by their indicated locations, would be phenomenal.
Happy to announce that ‘Members location mapping’ feature is released for all our clients in version 6.11.
Now, with our new gadget, you can display an interactive map that shows where your members are located, and displays information about each member.
We highly recommend reading the setup instruction: https://gethelp.wildapricot.com/en/articles/1601

I am a BOD member of anew organization that uses WA for our Web Site. I just posted this as a new topic but it would be extremely helpful for our membership to be able to search for other members in their area to help organize local events

Is it possible to add to a website a map, similar to Google maps with pins for locations of members or contacts.
-
Yes, Gail, we have some work documents that we could share. Placed in thread's attachments.

This will be a great addition for many of our clients on the Wild Apricot platform. Do you have a workflow of the new functionality that we can preview yet?
Thanks! -

our association of healthcare advocates is also desperate for this--and we are at the point of it being a deal breaker. We've been with WA for 9 years, and we may have to leave.....Enter zip code, choose radius around zip code, businesses pop up with information already in database. Please! Soon!

Option 2, our own Google Maps API key would be totally fine. If we exceed, we're fine to pay for the excess.

Gwyneth,
Yes, if we will go to with option 2, we will provide all instructions, as we usually do.Katya, Astra crew

In response to the email you sent with two options my preference would be 2. Implement and we will do the google API bit if you tell us how to. We only have 100 members so it should be free for us

You can use BatchGeo.com to map members on a Google map. Just export the required fields from your membership list to Excel, then copy/paste from Excel into BatchGeo maps. Send or embed the link to the map in your website. Users can search and filter by any attribute. It's easy.

Members want a locator page with map and pins so customers can find them. My membership association is for professional with retail outlets. A Google Maps page app would be great so members can pin themselves. Allow members to add themselves but public can only view.

I think I would be useful for admins to be able to reachout to a specific group of people in a radius. I have chapters in 4 different states but I have members from all over the country.

There seems to be some people who would want zip code only and some with exact addresses, so an option box when the admin adds the map to the directory would be to choose "use zip code" or "use street address".

Yes! So glad this is gaining traction. we are an island state and it would be wonderful for our artist members to be able to look at a map and see who else is a member on their island.
Do it!!! (please :) )

This would be an awesome option for our professional organization. Currently we have to manually create a map.

I would want to be listed by postal code as that is safer than a full address.
