Mapping location of members

For trade associations, it would be great for companies to be able to indicate where they are located, so everyone can search for local companies.

then to sort and map companies by their indicated locations, would be phenomenal.

An arrow to the closest intersection would be helpful and protect privacy without showing an exact location.

This is a great idea, as it is not only helpful for trade associations. We are an eduactional charitable trust where members want to meet up between themselves...

Our music teacher association ORMTA would love to have a searchable teacher map on our Find a Teacher page! At the very least, the nearest major intersection would be most helpful.

Toronto is a big city....it is extremely helpful and time saving to be able to find a qualified teacher in their area or close to public transportation. I think a grid map that hones in on major intersections plus an arrow etc on the street could be most useful. I hope you can find someone to create that link.

Postal code might work for Canada. But outside of it?
Only with one look at a map whis is showing were members are located I can see for example that there is no member close were I life but there is one were I work and were I grew up... this way I get information I was not even thinking about to look for.
        About privacy:
Members who don't want to be located exactly can change the settings for there street to "not public".

Doing it by postal code is a good system. Totally walkable from any area location to another.

This would be amazing for our website's many members.

I agree with the idea of having some privacy about exact location while indicating the neighborhood.

I like the idea. However, I personally would like the option of not revealing an exact location on the map - just what neighbourhood it is. Some privacy in this regard may be useful.

Everything that you search online has a map. If even small retail stores can provide the closest options for a one-time purchase, it seems obvious that we need the same option for our potential students that will be traveling to us for years. This is common technology, and I think that people expect it now. I really think that this will be of tremendous value.

Yes, I totally agree with this need of the map on the ORMTA website. Zip code search is super good news if that will happen. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing the result when done.

Hi, this would be very crucial for us, too. We want that members can search for each other in the directory. Distance is very important and a display on google maps would be perfect.
        Cheers, Chris

Our Province-wide Music Teacher's Association could really use a map that integrates directly with our often changing member directory. Many prospective students look for teachers who are close to their homes. This would be such a big help!
