How important is this to you?

Many thanks for your comments and feedback in this thread - it was super helpful for us in analysis and design of the feature.

I'm happy to announce that we're working on adding donations to compensate payment processing fees. This feature will be released later this year. Some design decisions I wanted to speak out explicitly:

    1. We decided to proceed with optional donations to compensate credit card processing fees as opposed to surcharges/convenience fee.
Main reasons for this is that there are too many regulations around mandatory charges to compensate fees: it's illegal in some countries/states, there are caps on how much you could charge, etc. To avoid all of this legal complications we decided to suggest members to opt-in to compensate processing fees, as opposed to make them obligatory.
All these transactions will be recorded as donations in WA and can be later used for tax deduction.

    2. You…

A similar issue here is for fixed fields we would like to have on every event form, eg, "How did you hear about this course?" that only appear as one column on the course listing export for reporting. We can make them Contact Fields, but then they appear in the general profile too, so we would like to hide them here.

Similarly, we have some contact fields like mailing address that we would like to be compulsory in the event form, but optional elsewhere.

Simply allowing a negative currency amount would do it.

What is the progress on this, and the bulk import of event registrants? Eventbrite has similar status to WordPress: WA can do most of what's needed, but it is so popular that having a pre-built API integration neutralises the discussion.
In my current client's case, Eventbrite can solve some multi-currency issues.

The "Board of Directors" (admin control) vs "Tennis" (user opt-in) sums this up perfectly. Simply need a tick on the Edit Group page, or for more sophisticated control, a tick per membership level, as per fields.

Can be done using Theme overrides functionality – by fixing HTML code in the gadget templates. But I’ll be collecting comments to see if suggested user-friendly functionality needed by others.

    |t's good to show the savings they get by being a member, but the non-member rate should be greyed out.

    Hello everyone!

Seeing your activity on this thread we would like to present you with three new templates using the third-party app called “Integromat”. They could help you to:
    - Copy an event with registrants
    - Export registrations into a Google sheet
    - Import registrations from a Google sheet

These need a short one-time setup and then you’ll be able to do the actions above in just a few clicks!

For more info see our blog: https://www.wildapricot.com/blogs/newsblog/2019/04/30/event-registration-integromat

We absolutely understand this is not a solution but more of a workaround for this request, so we won’t close this thread. But feel free to share your thoughts about these templates as well!

Please note, these workflows have some limitations and might not suit everybody. But we hope they will make your life a bit easier.

Different situations, both useful! We use Events for training courses, and want to import 4 years of history of who has attended which training courses. Need to import over 100 courses and 700 trainee records. Not an unusual situation for many associations - especially to sell further courses and refreshers.

We’re looking into this request in much broader context – we want to simplify overall management of contacts, lists, saved searches. Saved search should be perceived as smart lists and provide quick access to various contact and member groups.

In my view, the most common clash of AND and OR is when you have OR logic criteria, but also want to exclude Lapsed members (or only include Active ones). Couldn't you just add a check box for all searches saying "Exclude lapsed: X". One small step for a programmer, one big step for admins!
