Different payment options for events/membership
In release 2.3.4 you added the manual payment option which is valid for all payment types.
I would like to be able to make the manual payment option open to the few hundred people who are the membership but not make it available to the thousands who sign up for events.
I do not have a need to have it selectable at each membership level or for one event or another - just events vs. members. Any chance?
Released as a part of 5.7 version. See http://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Release+5.7

Thanks for the support - you hit the nail on the head - running down $30 checks is real administrative burden. I also second your suggestion on the text box - some quick way to customize that text.

I believe this issue has come up before. You should combine this thread with the other one that I remember reading before. I agree with this individual that payment options should be controlled by event, by membership area and by donation area (as you suggest). So you could have one event that allows only credit card payments and another event running at the same time that offers both credit cards and checks. I think this is really important and will save a lot of admin time since following up on a $75 payment for a dues payment or event because they said check is a real hassle. It would be to force them to pay by credit card so we don't have to run them down for the money.
I also remember discussion about installing a text box so that the words used for manual payment could be tailored by the administrator instead of having your fixed text option. I also liked that idea.

Good point. I suspect to make this universal, it would be useful also to set it separately for different membership levels and for donations.
Let's see what other users have to say.

Right now, we have our payment settings for both online (GC) and manual. But this setting apparently is global for our entire site. This setting is great for memberships (becuase they are hundreds of dollars and we want to provide payment flexibility). But emost vents are less expensive ($30 for example) and for these, I don't want to deal with manual payments, so I want to be able to turn off the manual payment option. And it's not just events vs. memberships - if possible I'd like to set different payment settings for different events. Seems like it wouldn't be too much trouble to make payment settings more granular. Thanks!

I also like this and asked for this on a different thread.
I'd like to expand this to be able to have one event offer manual payment and another one offer both credit card and manual and a third one offer only credit cards to pay. It would be nice to control which payment options are allowable for each event and be able to very the combinations offered.

Would like to be able to control payment options by individual event. For example, turn off online payment option for one event (but leaving it on for all other events). Thanks, Scott

We would like to add on-line payment for dues, but it would not be appropriate for some events that are paid at the venue. For many of our members, their country club accounts are charged for certain events. We don't get involved with collecting money at that level, but we'd like to collect from others that are not members of the country club.
I think we could solve this if we could set the payment options at the event "type."

James, this idea makes perfect sense and we will add it to our queue. I hope we will see other people commenting and voting for it to help us prioritize it.

Don't know how others feel about this, but I was wondering if you could allow the payment method options to be controled at the event level instead of at the website level.
For instance, let's say we have event 1 which we don't want to deal with collection efforts on someone chosing a manual payment option. For instance a one day webinar which will happen in the next few weeks. We want everyone to pay by credit card so we know everyone will be paid in full when the event happens.
Then let's say we have another event whose registration is open concurrently with the first event, but this second event is a larger multi-day event and costs more money so we are willing to allow individuals to select manual payment options for that event because they may have to go through some approvals to attend the event.
Right now we can't set the website to credit card only for one event and all payment options for another event because that control is at the website level. I know this would take some programming but it would be pretty nice to have control at the event level instead of at the website level.
Hopefully others can see a need for this and can give a positive vote on this. Great product and getting better all the time. Thanks

Almost the same issue - I would like to be able to switch off online payments for specific events when we want cash on the night. Now we have members paying online even though they are instructed not to. (Who reads instructions?)

Ross - thanks for your input.
That's why we have these forums - so that we can gauge relative importance of many possible enhancements. This point makes good sense - it's just a question of priority.

Hello,
I have run into a similar dilemma. Specifically, I would like to place a manual payment option on a single event. My preference would be to have the ability to differentiate between each event AND member registration. Please consider updating the system as Gordon and I cannot be the only individuals with these problems. Thank you.

Gordon,
Manual payment option has always existed in the system and we made no changes in this functionality in the latest version. All we did is added one more online payment option.
Your request does make total sense - so we will now wait for feedback from others to prioritize it.
