Allow members and/or conference registrants to upload file attachments - like abstract submission
Our academic society would find it extremely useful if members -- or better yet, conference registrants -- could upload files (e.g., Word docs, PDFs). This would allow presenters at the conference to share papers prior to the conference, potentially enhancing the feedback that they would get from other conference-goers. We would really like to provide this service for our members/conference attendees.
Dear supporters,
With the new release 6.18 version, we added the ability to create File attachments field for Common and Membership forms.
So now, you can collect documents/images from your members, subscribers, registrants. Members can share their documents with others via Public profile. You can upload files and download files right in contact, member or registration details.
If you have any ideas, requests how we can improve this new functionality, please share it with us.
More about this and other updates in our release notes: https://gethelp.wildapricot.com/en/articles/1665
Thank you for your support and have a good day!

Product Owner @ Wild Apricot by Personify

I would like to add my support to the request for this feature. My organization would like our members to have the ability to upload files with a discussion forum, both for sharing presentation files associated with our conference and for ongoing collaboration among members.

As an addendum, we have attempted to use the Upload Photograph field in the application as a workaround for this, but when our Membership Team enters the new application to view the document, it's a tiny thumbnail that doesn't allow them to read the information. If the "Upload Document" function can't be rolled out soon, could the photo be viewed at a higher resolution so that it could be used as a workaround until the next release?

For organization, this is an essential function. We're a professional writers organization and have different membership levels that are based around certain professional credentials. We require proof of these credentials, such as confirmation of being paid professional rates for one's work. Our previous system allowed members filling out an application to upload these documents.
We recently transitioned to Wild Apricot and are loving it as a whole, but the lack of this function prevents prospective members from getting us these documents in a quick and easy fashion and is causing an increase in work for our Membership team, thus negating the efficiencies we had hoped to gain by migrating to Wild Apricot.
Our Membership team is currently requesting that we revert to our old system, but I would like us to stay with Wild Apricot. Is there a timeframe that I can give as to when this function will be rolled out?

We've analysed and designed this feature already and it is now in our queue. Though, no actual system change is expected till the middle of next year, we're busy with wrapping up 5.0 release.

Our organization would benefit by an upgrade feature which would allow uploading of documents either viewable by admin or select groups accordingly. Such items would include resumes, references and other supporting membership documents. Document uploads for events would also be beneficial. Are there any updates as to when this feature may be available in one or all sections? Thank you.

We are an art society. We hold several online shows per year and one physical exhibition (in a real gallery). Most are open to the public. Some are members only. We produce online galleries for all of our shows to promote our organization, artists, and sponsors. Our current event registration requires that the artists upload a picture (.jpg) of their painting with their entry information.
In order to use WildApricot for our shows we need the following:
Event registration allows from 1 to 5 file uploads per event registration entry.
The set of data for each entry contains a reference (unique identifier) to each of the images uploaded for the entry. It would be awesome if the image filenames had the entryID in them. If an artist uploaded two images then the filenames would be entryID-A and entryID-B or an equivalent.
The entry information is downloadable (or api) in a parseable format (excel, csv, xml, json).
I take all of the images and create an attractive searchable mobile (touch) friendly gallery. I take the entry information and parse the data to create the artist, painting, and award information for each of the images in the gallery.
That's the short of it. There are additional steps but this describes how WildApricot can enable this activity simply by adding file upload to event registration.
BTW - there are many art Societies on WildApricot that have same/similar need.

I would appreciate as detailed example as possible - how exactly would this be used in your organization? Who would upload what kind of files, how they would be used afterwards etc.

FYI - by definition you will only see here things that are still outstanding since other threads are archived once we release them.

We could use this feature also. We could use it on any page. And . . I am becoming increasingly concerned that every time I look for a feature I see requests from 3 years ago that have never been fulfilled and typically promises for the next release.

Sorry, the scope of version 5.0 was closed long time ago. Though attachment fields is one of the candidates for the subsequent version 5.1 (~ end of the year)

I know that this is a year after the fact, but my site also requires an attachment option for member Resume's. Any chance it gets into the upcoming version due this summer?
Is there a workaround? I'm currently using a field that allows them to link to a website (their own or Linked).
Thanks.

Thank you very much for posting, I especially appreciate the details - they give us great insight into not only why people need this but also how it might be used so that we can design for that.

I would like to make a request for future consideration. I would love to see a function that can be added to a membership and/or event registration page that would allow contacts to upload a digital file that I could then access.
The reason I ask this is due to an event I am currently setting up. I am involved with a large state counseling conference and am setting up an event for our Call for Proposals. In order for us to get approval from our state licensing board for continuing education hours, we must have on file resumes/CV's for each person presenting. We have over 140 presenters at our conference.
Right now all I can do is add a note at the bottom to encourage them to email their resume to me after the register their proposal, but that is a mess of emails and then trying to match people up. An option where they could directly attach this resume to their registration would be awesome.
Appreciate the opportunity to share as always.

Unfortunately we have not added this to a specific release yet - but it is on our short list of high priority features.
But in the next release (due in May) we will be working on adding date fields and explanation fields to forms.

Hi, what is the status of this request? I am also interested in this. My nonprofit, community organization is interested in going green with paperless meetings. It would be great if our officers and committee chairmen could upload Word, Excel and PDF files to our member only section. Since these users do not update our website, nor have any experience with it, it would be great if the steps for uploading a file could be pared down just for this purpose of sharing documents.

Same here. Would really like this capability.

Just found this request and it is exactly the same as ours. Our members need to upload their resume, profile, presentation and such for recruiters.

I do support this feature also. For the moment we do have to send an email and ask new members to send their resume so we can approve or not their membership.
We would like to have a new membership field type "upload a file", so when filling the new application for membership, one can upload his resume. It is not necessary to allow the file to be seen by others, just the member and the admin.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am pretty sure that CLT and I are working on the same web site. That doesn't diminish the importance of this feature for us but I wouldn't want anyone to think we were packing the ballot box either.
