Classifieds gadget (i.e. Job Board )
Current behavior:
Blogs or forums are repurposed to serve as classified ads/job boards, however they have serious limitations that prohibit them from being suitable solutions.
Desired behavior:
Self-service (e.g. searchable, browseable) classified ads system for members and visitors, with administration tools to moderate and manage entries/permissions.
Hi there!
With closing this thread I want to remind everybody that the Job Board product is available for all Wild Apricot customers with a paid subscription.
The application form is available on the 'Apps' page, in the main left menu.
Have a great day and happy new year!

It would be great to have a classifieds gadget that members can post items for sale that all are able to filter/sort. Showing a thumbnail of the product as they scroll and when clicked on, gives details/contact info. Administrators should be able to restrict number of postings per member and duration posting is good for.

We're a model airplane club where members want to post For Sale or Wanted items for other members or non-member website visitors to view. Member feedback is that there should be a way to see a thumbnail photo of the item being offered for sale in the forum listing. You shoudl not have to open the post to see the item being offered for sale.
Thanks.

Maybe now that MemberClicks is part of the personify family, we can have access to the job board they use which is pretty awesome.

We are a professional organization supporting military spouses in STEM professions and having a functional, user-friendly Job Board is a critical need for us since military spouses have very high rates of unemployment and underemployment. We are relying on the forum tool now and it is a limiter for our organization. PLEASE provide a better tool for Job Boards. Thank you kindly.

I'm getting back to the Classified issue. Seems like there is a demand for the ability to have a Classified page as an option on our website, but Wild Apricot doesn't seem to think this is a credible request. I am very frustrated, the only way I have been able to get classified ads on our site is for people to send me the information and I have to go through several steps just to add them to our page. It's not really worth the effort. Our members should be able to go on the site and do it themselves.

Hello,
Our group would really like to have this feature. I think this is long overdue, and should be given higher priority. -

This is something the CVMG has asked for since 2008. 12 years seems like an inordinate amount of time to be waiting. eh ?

We have put together a Jobs board workaround using the discussion forum:
In a similar way you can change the buttons from forum topics to jobs or classified ads.

I've been trying to figure out a way to put a classified page on our website, one where members could post their own ads without admins needing to do it for them. I can't find anything in the tutorials that seems to address that. We are a bicycle club and we get frequent inquiries from people wanting to buy or sell bikes.

This would be a huge benefit and feature for our members, as we are about to implement a very comprehensive platform for our members to post classifieds.

I would like to add my request for a formal / well-structured job board gadget. The workaround using blogs/forums gadget doesn't work properly based on Admin requirements and user experience. This is a major gap in the functionality of the website.

It looks like this was asked for in 2008. In 2018 wild apricot said that this was on their list of things that they would have within a year. Now we are here in 2019. Has there been any progress? Is this something that will be offered?

I found this WA theme in my search and it looks like it has the start of a Job Board function - https://mergetheme.wildapricot.org/Job-Board
I see this site is by Merge Creative, is it possible to pay for their Job Board function/theme and run it on our WA site?
Also, I read that WA integrates with WordPress with a plugin. Is it possible to have a subsite on our WA site that leads to a WordPress job board? -

If there is no Job Board project in sight could we just have a blog function to hide/archive posts automatically after a specific date, with a manual override?

I think a single solution could address both this idea and the subdatabase idea:
https://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/10503243-create-sub-databasesSupport for a generic list that allows for:
- custom fields (like the contact/member fields, and a rich-text type field like blog post content)
- configurable permissions (who can submit, who can view, and if admin-approval is needed)
- display widget with search/sort/filter functionality and configurable fieldsThis is not unlike the base functionality behind Sharepoint lists.

Not working, that’s correct.

Just so my understanding is clear...Wild Apricot is not working on a solution to allow the Blog gadget to be used to create a job board. Is that correct?

Jenni, I understand it sees unfair and your expectation were different. So were ours, but situation changed and we had to adjust our plans.

I was told at WorldatWork Conference in May by Wildapricot sponsor that Classified was being worked on and forecasted to finish by year-end. Now we are told that this is not being worked on...that's not cool response WildApricot Product Mgr!

As of now, we do not have plans to work on this in 2018.
