RSVP with Guests
Thank you for implementing Simplified Event Registration - https://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8825605 . It's a great first step - but there are many other suggestions in that item that could not all be implemented right away. So I will start this wishlist item to capture my suggestion and others to come.
Could you please improve this feature by adding either a field for number of people, and/or checkboxes for each member if it is a bundle membership? These would be options in setting up the event.
Without this, or at least the option for a member to register more than once, the feature is not useful to us as is, because most of our registrations are for both of the members in a couple (bundle).
Released in version 5.18.
Registrants for simple (RSVP) events can now add guests. They can indicate the number of guests they wish to bring, up to the limit administrator specified.

Thanks again for your votes and comments.

In addition to this, some of our members want to be able to select another member as their 'guest', e.g. my husband and I have separate memberships due to the way our club is setup. As a result, both of us have to individually register for events.
Can we have it that on the membership form, a member could select another member and/or a 'guest' which would then require further information such as name etc. if desired.

Would like to be able to add guests when checking in registrants at event. If someone shows up who is a member, we can add them with the plus sign but we cannot add their guest. Same true when using mobile app for admin. If someone says in person "yes, we're coming" I can only add the person who is a member but cannot add their spouse/SO except in notes and then come back when on full site and add guest. Would love to eliminate this step.

We found the RSVP mode inappropriate for our reservations situations. A far more useful way to make the Event entry process simpler would have been to provide an image file cropper and resizer, so those tasks -- essential to every one of our several weekly events -- doesn't have to be done externally, using specialized software. Most operating systems include some app for that, but everyone has a different system, even different devices, and rather than making life simple for us system Admins, we have to educate our end users in all those various environments.

I received the following response from Wild Apricot: "The RSVP events are simple events that does not imply guests functionality". Actually, simple registration for an event with no fees would cause me to think it would be attractive to my members inviting guests. As stated by others, this gaff makes the Simple RSVP as challenging as the old method.
As a developer and coder, I am aware of the ease of adding the guest count field to this action. I hope you will correct this short coming quickly. -

We need to be able to register guests otherwise this really is useless.

I wanted to let you know that the Events is really hard to find for members. Also, I registered for an event and I showed up 6x! I'm only 1 person or even if I were bringing more people, there should be a way for me to note that it's myself and so many more, but not myself registering for an event many times. It shouldn't be allowed at all. Hopefully this will be updated soon. Thanks!

I would like to modify the number of days the link is available to use as registration. I would also suggest softening the language that refers to forwarding the email. A "Please" and no explanation point. The current language is not how I would address my members. And, a softer color than red would be appreciated. Though I understand the security issue, that is not the most important message in my email.

One easy way to simplify registration for ALL events would be to eliminate the initial email screen, where the member confirms their name and email address. This is an unnecessary speed bump for almost all member registrations.
Instead, they should go straight to the registration form. On that form, logged-in members could see a button "Use different name or email" to go back to the email screen.
And of course if they are not logged in, they still start with the email screen.

Allowing for a simple registration is probably our biggest issue. One step RSVP even with a paying registration, and the ability for a member to register and a guest register with a guest charge. That we would know if we had a quorum. I manually have to subtract the guests so I can figure out that detail.

The comments from the initial thread:
Please allow the attendee to specify the number of people they are bringing. You might call this guests but it doesn't have to be so complicated as a registration (shouldn't be!). Most of our events are simple RSVPs but we need to know the total # coming as our members can bring children or family members. We want the RSVP to be super simple so people actually do it. But our event coordinators need to know how many people to plan for. -

I agree. The simple RSVP is great, except for the fact that it doesn't allow a guest count. We can't use it yet because of this. All of our free, simple events allow people to bring guests with them. We need to know the total number of people who will be attending, not just the number of members.
