Allow secondary/alternate emails for members
Current features:
Each contact/member (company or individual) can only have one email that is used to receive messages.
Desired features:
Allow contacts/member to have multiple emails that can be used to receive emails.
Sorry for the late update.
The first step was finished and emails can now be carbon copied to contact’s alternative emails. To do so the contact fields which store the alternative emails must be explicitly marked on the email setting page.
Unsubscribing will unsubscribe all alternative emails simultaneously because they all belong to the very same account. The person clicking “unsubscribe” is warned about this on the unsubscribe page.
For now we paused the development of this feature. but not for good. :) So I’m changing this wish status back to “collecting comments”.
Thank you everyone for a valuable feedback.

It looks like only the primary member (what WA calls the Bundle Administrator) can renew a membership.
So we have the touchy duty of telling our members (mostly couples) to please renew, but we only consider the husband (usually) qualified to do it. The wives might well find this offensive.
I hope I'm misunderstanding this. But if not, could you please provide an option for all bundle members to renew?
Or even better, implement the suggestion https://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8825614-allow-secondary-alternate-emails-for-members so we can get rid of bundles entirely in our organization.

Especially valuable when one account bounces an email, would like to be able to choose an alternate email address to send bounced email to.

This is the one feature that would greatly enhance my use and rating of Wild Apricot.

This is not intentional, priorities just change all the time. We now never promise any release date. When we start working on something, we change it to "Work in progress".

We have been waiting for this change since we implemented your system 15 months ago. When we selected your system, this was shown as a upcoming improvement, but now it seems to have dropped off your radar. For us, this is a "bait and switch".

well, it's not a kickstarter :)
this has a good number of votes and it is in out top list.
No estimation though. -

How many votes are needed?

We will update the status to "Work in progress" when we start working on it. Nothing more I can add now, sorry.

Is this going anywhere? I ask because this was listed as an enhancement that was to have been in the Sept 2016 bundle/release but then it was pushed to the end of 2016 and now it looks like it's still in the "collecting comments" step.
This is something that we've needed for the last three years and the members are getting restless.
Since all the spouses and significant others have added themselves as "contacts" to get around this and we keep going over our allotted number of contacts.

Since our website is dedicated to tandem cycling and our members are couples, I would like to have the ability to send e-mails to the "Captain" (primary account holder) and "Stoker" (would be considered a secondary account). Currently I am having to use a sub-account of my personal e-mail to send out e-mails to the entire club (Captains & Stokers).

It is not very hard, but it is not a couple of clicks either.
Most probably, this is not something we will change soon as we're focusing right now on top voted ideas. -

Geez, folks, this should be an easy to fix no-brainer. All you have to do is add a second box with an email enabling link. Should be a couple of clicks for a programmer. This is a VITAL service for us since our members are by household. I generate many pieces of correspondence that are email only and have to be sent through Wild Apricot as they are generated through the templates there. As the previous poster stated, this may be a deal breaker for us when we come up for renewal if it is not fixed. Very aggravating and a huge amount of work to try to do work-arounds when the solution would be so simple.

Having multiple emails for a member contact is important to the Dishman Hills Conservancy. Our memberships are by household. Each member has multiple people and multiple email addresses. Since there is a member fee and renewals, it is quite confusing to split households - let's say the husband and wife. One pays and we dun the other. We added a second email field but there is no link to email to these secondary emails as part of an email blast.
For member-only events, we have difficulties due to some of the member emails not being accepted. It is not reasonable to have household memberships linked to only one email. This is a deal-breaker for us.

Sooner than later would be great.

In your example you show "home email", would we be able to change email name?
Otherwise great.

If you're going to do it, allow for more than 1 extra email. Maybe as many as you want or up to 5? Most families have a minimum of 3 email addresses and the kids start to have them as they get older. You might want to push this one to the top of your list as everyone will have to upgrade their plans to accommodate!!

What we need: 1 Contact login email address (primary) and many additional email addresses (secondary) for email blasts. The additional email would be for spouses, children, and other relative that would like to receive updates buy neither current or future full members. The email function should have a toggle, "Send to Primary ONLY" and "Send to Primary AND all Alternate email addresses." None of the Alternate addresses should have any logon privileges.

Most everyone has 2 email addresses - personal and business. It would be great if when the WA system sends an email message to the primary email address that fails to then automatically attempt to send the message to the secondary address. All too often people change jobs and no longer have the business email they used as their primary contact email address - having the backup helps organizations keep in contact with their members.

It would be a great help if the alternate email could be copied on the emailed invoices too.

Today our member families typically have two emails (one for each spouse). Because WA only allows one email per member/contact we have to use MailChimp for our newsletter and email communication. It is such a pain to sync with MailChimp.
We've been thinking at work around (1. Use the member bundle function / 2. Create additional contact for the spouse) but they are too cumbersome. We need this feature so I can get rid of MailChimp !
Thank you !
