Allow to use special guest price even when collecting full registration information for each guest

We have the following event-related situation which results in incorrect pricing being set:
Event open to member and non-members
Free to members
£10 to non-members
£5 to members guests
There are no special requirements so there is no registration form designed (we just use the common fields)
In the "registraion type" for members we allow guest registrations
The three options under that related to the collection of guest data.
If I select "collect full registration form for each guest", the guest price is incorrectly forced to base price e.g. FREE whereas if I select either of the other options I can enter my special guest price of £5

Now obviously I want to collect full registration details from guests so I have a problem.

WA Support tell me that this is "how the system is currently designed" so I'd like to request it is changed because it's not logical to introduce such an arbitrary restriction.

        We are having an issue with setting up events where we allow guests to be registered. We exclusively require members to register their guests. We charge a premium for guest registrations and we want the full event registration form to be completed for guests. But we can't do that.

        The system is designed so that setting a special guest price allows collection of contact data only. If we want to collect full registration information for guests, we cannot set a guest price. Instead, we are forced to set up a field to add the guest premium to the base price. The problem is that the extra charge data types are designed for making a selection from a list, which we don't want.

        So the way the system is designed, we are forced to either not collect all the information we need or include a field with an inappropriate data type.

        This causes a great deal of confusion for our members, manual interventions, amount charged errors, and loss of information.

        Please change the system so that a special guest price can be charged and collect full registration information.

        We would also like this feature. We would love to add all guests to our contact list so we can invite them to become members or send them notice of our other events. But can't do this AND charge them for attending as non-members under the current system.

        Agree. Want to collect all information for things like desired lunch, etc. but at a quest price.

        You definitely have my vote to implement this fix hopefully earlier than later. I just discovered today that if I need to collect full registration info for guests which means the additional custom fields, I can no longer charge the guest an additional fee. Not good to discover this limitation. The only work around is I now have to manually generate an invoice for every guest.

        This is something we need as well. We allow our members to register guests. Some of their guests are members (many who do not have a separate e-mail address) and some are non-members. We charge different fees for members and non-members for most of our events. Can you tell me if there is a work around?

        Hi WA, can you please advise on when we can expect this to be resolved? This has been open for over 3 years and the limitations continue to plague us and add unneeded administration to our event registrations.

        We need this functionality too.

        Having the optional items pricing in the full form does not solve the problem of losing the special guest pricing.

        When you set the price, did you make sure that you set it so that guests pay a "special guest price" rather than a base price?

        I use this ALL the time (I have a members registration that allows guests and a non-member registration also allowing guests). In the case of Members, they are either free or a small charge as the base cost, with guests at the "Special Guest Rate", while for non-member registrations I use the base cost. Only time I have had problems is if I got it wrong in the first place (which has happened)

        Well, I've just lost quite a bit of money.

        I have members at a rate of $X and non-members at a rate of $Y. I set it to allow guest registrations, but also told it to collect complete contact information for guests and it said it would charge based on the contact info. I assumed that meant if the contact info was not that of a member, they would guest charged the non-member rate.

        Imagine my horror when all of my members who registered guests were able to only pay the member rate for said guests!

        Did I do something wrong, or does the feature not work as it says it works?
