Uploading documents and photos in forum and blog posts
Is it possible that you could correct the function of the forum and blog pages to not only allow someone to add a link, but also to add a document to the page?
What downfall is there in providing this function?
Update from CMS team:
Happy to announce that this request was released to all clients in version 5.17
Members can now attach documents and images when adding or replying to a forum topic.

It seems that you can add docs if you are logged in as an admin.
I would also like to add my vote to have this available to all.

Just adding my $0.02... my association is very interested in using our website for community-building, and plans to create forums to serve different groups, for the purposes of sharing both ideas and files. We were surprised to see that it wasn't possible to share files in forums when we started evaluating WA.

It's on the wishlist - but not on the roadmap yet - so for now can't tell if/when we implement this.

Yes, we also really need the ability to add documents and pictures to forum posts - but it should be possible to decide whether this is allowed (or not) for the different membership levels AND groups for those on Community plans.
Is thi on the official wish-list, any ideas on time-scales...?

We'd very much like to see this as well as for our particular usage to facilitate writing/playwriting discussions/script reviews without an upload option for our users its of very limited use to our members and they'd definitely like to see the option to at least upload a pdf or word doc at minimum.
We'd also really like to utlize this technology for our board members and various fellowship/meeting groups to be able to post minutes/discussions/agendas but don't have a way to do this currently.
Thanks!

We'd very much like to see this too -- we write a newsletter and each month there are several authors and editors that want to collaborate by posting and editing articles (documents) that will eventually go out in our newsletter. We want the ability for say 3 or 4 interested members to all be able to see and work on the current drafts of particular articles.
An alternative to document posting in the forum would be a new type of functional page that would allow members - not just admins - to upload documents.

let me clarify - are you asking for them to be able to post pictures into forum posts - or have (one) secondary picture in the profile that is displayed in all forum posts?

PS. This is for my members to be able to insert Real Estate Property for Sale Images.. I would love it you could do this..

I would LOVE IT, if my Community Members could post at least 1 x photo from their computer (Max size 110 x 110 pixels, larger images resized) in their 'Forum Posts' (additional to their profile pic).. I am sure this feature would attract MORE Members to my website (and, benefit both me and Wild Apricot in the long run)!
Thank you kindly,
Katie

Ok, I'd like to see this ability. I see many site that allow for it now. I guess someone could attach a document with a virus, so I can see where it could be an issue, but I think it would be helpful to allow for it; as many times people want to attach documents and not just links.

We have not done this yet for security reasons - but will make a note of your request and investigate further.

We can't figure out how to insert images into forum posts. Our post toolbar does not have the 'insert/edit image' button like you have here. How do we enable that?
Oddly, I can copy and paste an image and it shows up while editing but not when the user submits the forum post.
A link to instructions is all I need. I searched and did not find it.

Greetings - I've searched for this and failed; I do apologize if this has been asked and answered previously!
I would like members to be able to add pictures to their blog post; this does not appear to be possible. If I login as admin, I see I can add a picture from there - but when I am in member view, it appears as though they can not add a picture. Am I missing something, or is there a way for members to add a pic to a blog post?

Hi All,
Does anyone know if it is possible to allow my members to create a forum post with images from offsite? eg. Photobucket / Flickr / Picasso / etc
My members often have their own online photo storage solutions and do up descriptive how-to posts linking back to these photo's - however I doesn't look like the forum module supports displaying an offsite image in a post?
Is this true and if so are there any plans to add that functionality?
