RSVP - Simplified event registration
Current behavior:
Registration requires filling out online registration form.
Desired behavior:
In some cases this is an overkill and what is desired is Evite-style registration when people can simply click on the link in the event and be done with it.
Notes:
1) This would only work for people already in the database
2) This would only apply to free events
3) If there are multiple registration types - assign one as default? Force people to choose online?
4) Highly desirable - negative RSVP - when people say they can not attend.
Hello, dear supporters!
This suggestion has accumulated many votes over years and is one of the top 3 in “Events” category.
We’re happy to announce that the RSVP (we called them Simple events) is now ready for your use!
As all big features, this one contains several suggestions. Some of them are covered in this release, some are not.
What released: Admin can create the Simple event that requires only RSVP from registrants – one-click registration with Yes, Maybe, or No answer.
The simple event is very simple now :) Free registrations only, doesn’t allow for guests, registration limits and sessions. Some of these options are still important for you and required, so we will continue to improve our RSVP feature.

We hope you’ll like it. Please leave your feedback any time by email, by using in-product feedback form and use our Wishlist for sharing your new suggestions.
Thank you for your patience!
Have a great day!

We schedule automated emails to go out to our members regarding their quarterly meetings. Members have the option to register for the meeting, but there is a not a way for them to decline the meeting. It would be helpful to see those who have registered and those that have declined. Plus any automated messages scheduled to go out should remove those members who have declined to attend, so they do not receive additional messages about that particular meeting. Right now, there is no way to do this and it defeats the purpose of "automating" our event processes when we have to figure out who cannot attend vs who has not responded.

I'd like a No response allowed as well so the followup reminders only go to those who have not yet responded. For our board meetings, currently if a member isn't coming they have to send an email to the secretary to let her know and the automated second reminder notice still gets sent to them even though they've said they weren't coming.

email event reminders only to the people that haven't RSVPd yet

Have the ability for a member to choose a NO response to an event. At this time they can only "REGISTER". It would be great if they could let us know that they will not be attending.

Allow members to reply to an invitation with "sorry, not coming this time" and include space for a few optional words why. This reply would NOT be counted in the "coming" total.

A non-registration button... Please!

Give the ability to RSVP = NO for an event. This way the Administrator/Event Planner knows that you were reached and made a decision that you could not attend. Currently a person can only Register for an event.

It would be great to have use of broadcst text and response option/capability. Text goes out with event description and response choices. Member responds with choice. Done!

Eventrii enables you to create events, issue Online Invitations to your guests and allows guests to respond using the free RSVP Online service. Users simply register their details with the site and create an online event before sending out free online invitations.

We really need a 'not attending' option! Our club has some very specific rules, and attendance is assumed if members do not indicate otherwise. Unfortunately, this results in a lot of work for me - and a lot of complaints from members who have no intuitive way of indicating non-attendance on the site and have to do so via other means.

The general idea makes good sense,
My understanding is that event invite formats are specific to each calendar, e.g. Outlook uses certain format, Mac OS uses another format etc. So accepting/not would work for some users but for others.
I would appreciate comments/insights from other users.

I don't even consider this to be "feature creep". More like clarifying what would make the feature useful.

Ha! I was just coming back to request the option to add fields for additional info with the simple RSVP.
We definitely would want attendees and this info to show up for all paid members.
We would like to have a registered member be able to just click yes, no, maybe, and then possibly include a note about which kids will be coming that day. It helps others see if there will be playmates of the same age as their kids there on a particular week.
With apologies for "feature creep" - it would be nice for the admin to be able to specify fields on the registration form that would be displayed on the list of registrants that members can view.
With this feature, the admin could add additional questions (yes / no / maybe, number of kids, etc.) tailored to their particular event that their members want to see. It would also be helpful for people working on the event to see some of that information without having to make them all admins.
There are other uses for this. Our yacht club has a crew list, where non-members can sign up to crew on members' boats. We don't want the public to see the signups. With this feature we could implement the crew list as an event with the registrant list available only to members.

We really need this feature. We are a homeschool group and have weekly park days, where people may or may not attend each week. Members like to know who is coming, but filling out a registration form each week is over the top for this. We would like to have a registered member be able to just click yes, no, maybe, and then possibly include a note about which kids will be coming that day. It helps others see if there will be playmates of the same age as their kids there on a particular week.
Plus, its too confusing to see the word "free" next to each registration type. We are a social group and we organize events that will cost monies to our members, but we are NOT collecting these monies. They are paying at the venue or in advance at the venue. Not sure why that word has to be there at all.
Agree. This is a problem. For pay at the door events, we can put the price in the event details, but then it says $8 in the details and Free in the summary. This looks awful.
Even worse - sometimes we want to set up a different prepay price and a pay at the door price. So we create two registration types. Then the event details page shows:Registration
Pay in advance - $8.00 (USD)
Pay at door - FreeSimple fix: If the price is zero, just leave out "Free."
And agree with pretty much all the comments above. The registration process is not user friendly and it's the most common form interaction for our members.
In our existing website, the member goes to a page and clicks one button. The fields in the registration form are pre-populated from a cookie and they rarely have to change them.
(It would be helpful if when adding a Custom field to the form, it could be pre-populated with a contact or member database field.)
I understand there's a lot of moving parts in these suggestions, but this should all be part of your review of the user registration experience. We might have the best web site in the world but it does us little good if our members don't like using it.

This would be a huge asset for our management as well... just spent over an hour looking for a solution - even searched for RSVP in help, which didn't return results - FYI.

It's pretty high in our priorities, but there is nothing else I can add except what is shown in the Roadmap. Keep in mind, that schedule can change any time.
