Ability to copy a gadget or a whole layout in new email editor
The new email editor released in v7.6 makes it easier to create good looking layouts with mixtures of gadgets. One thing that makes it difficult to be productive is the inability to copy a gadget or layout with gadgets that has been laboriously configured. If it was possible to duplicate a gadget or a layout with gadgets preconfigured it would be so much easier to build a template. Right now there is a fairly long "rework" of existing templates that really need to be recreated from scratch, and people resist the urge because they think it will take a long time. The ability to duplicate gadgets will make this process much faster.
The ability to copy gadgets and layouts in the new Email editor was be published with 7.13 and 7.14 version releases.

For the content of a content gadget, I copy and paste the HTML code. The content is reproduced exactly, including links. I have done this between a clone and my live site.

This is a great suggestion. But I'd like to see it taken a step further; i.e., I'd like to have the ability to copy a gadget or layout with gadgets from one webpage to another.
When redesigning a webpage it would save a LOT of time if this capability was available. Currently, the workaround I use is to Duplicate a page, make the changes, then make the duplicated page the new page.

I am also struggling with the re-working of all of our templates. First off, our primary website colors are not automatically appearing, so for every line, border or text block, I need to enter the HexCodes by hand using the 6 digit code. In addition, the inability to copy a gadget or layout (with all of the proper coloring/spacing already created) has cost us hours of time.
Our old templates that included both photos and text cannot be modified to add a new photo or button and they now have to be re-worked into the new email format from scratch. If one had the ability to create a "layout block" that could be copied into a template, it would make things much easier. Thank you. -

Agreed! Our newsletters have so many sections that are formatted the same and all that changes is the text or the link. Having to recreate each section from scratch takes SO much more time than if I could just duplicate an existing section and make small changes to it.

Sigh, I needed this yesterday. But it would greatly improve my quality of life if you could add this functionality!
