Provide option to turn off Stripe email receipts
We're using Stripe for payments. When a member pays, they get two redundant email receipts, one from Wild Apricot and another from Stripe. I would like you to provide an option to disable the Stripe email receipts, because 1) they are redundant and noisy, 2) they can't be customized like WA email receipts, and 3) they can't be turned off from with Stripe.
I've not tested any of the other payment systems, but I think it would be good to provide this option, in general, so all of the email confirmations can be controlled from with Wild Apricot.
We won’t force sending payment receipts anymore starting from 5.12.2 release. You can control this yourself in Stripe notifcation preferences or use WA payment receipt instead.

This is controlled only by PayPal, so please check PayPal settings. You can only turn off WA notifcations.

would be nice to offer this option for those using PayPal as well. When receiving a PayPal donation, multiple receipts are generated and emailed to the Admin

Ken - To the best of my knowledge, no, this issue hasn't been resolved yet. The only option to avoid sending duplicate receipts would be to turn off automatic sending of Wild Apricot receipts; obviously this isn't ideal because the Stripe receipts can't be customized with WA fields or link to the invoice / WA website where the payment was made. Other than this issue, Stripe is working well for our organization. I hope this helps!

Please update Wild Apricot to honor the email receipt setting in Stripe. I don't want our members getting two email receipts. As Carey Jung commented, turning off email receipts in the Stripe dashboard currently has no effect. Some people may want the Stripe receipts though, so rather than disabling them altogether in Wild Apricot's code, allow the Stripe setting to determine whether it gets sent or not.

Frederick, that doesn't work. The API calls that Wild Apricot is making to Stripe are telling it to send email, and Stripe honors that. This is per Stripe Support.

You can log into Stripe. Select Account Settings under your name in the upper right corner. Go to the far right and select Emails. There you can turn on and off emails sent by Stripe.

Oleg, I agree, I don't see any value in email receipts from the payment system. They don't add anything to the Wild Apricot receipts.

This is entirely possible, though I'm not sure adding an extra setting is a best option here. I'm thinking of disabling these emails completely in favour of WA payment receipts.
What do you think on this?
