An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedSo how do you envision the process? A donor comes to the site, sees that donation form will all the fields (like email, etc.), fills it in including amount and then presented with a choice if he wants to pay online now or send a cheque later? Looks a little bit too complex for a simple cheque donations, doesn't it? Do you think people want to fill in forms just to make cheque payments?

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedGenerally speaking - this is system bug. When no comments are allowed for all levels and public, system show hide "Add comment" link all the time. I'll add this into our bug queue.

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedI merged this thread and another old thread for Genera forum to solve them together. The problem is that difference in event registration record and contact/member record may cause (and causes) a number of difficulties so we have to rethink the approach from the begginning and possibly change the background logic completely.
For now, it'll be staying here, collecting comments and waiting for its turn to get into the Roadmap http://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Product+roadmap
An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedHi Paul,
you are right - when you send e-mails from specific event, system uses e-mail from event registration and not from contact record. And as Denys mentioned earlier these are two different e-mails.
I understand you point and we have this particular problem in our analysis list. For now that cannot be changed quickly as we have a lot of to do things on the very next release. But I will consider your particular case when I will work on this problem.
For now I would suggest you to use a workaround: to use correct e-mail in your case, you need to send e-mail from Contact list, not from Event details. To get a list of required contacts, use advanced search option on Contact list and add search criteria named "Registered for specific event(s)" then select the event you want. This will produce you with a list of all contacts that attended this particular event and you will be able to E-mail them - system will use e-mails from contact details record, not from event registration.
Hope this will help.
Evgeny.

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedAny event registrant (except guest) is a contact - new contact is created if there is no such email in database. Guests are exceptions - see separate thread http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8825941-create-contacts-for-guest-registrations-7166
An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedWe are now analyzing changes to be made to our events module and this particular problem is going to be part of the scope.
An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedFor logged in members we can do this easily, but for public (anonymous) registration the situation is much worse. We cannot allow to override contact details data based on public event registration as this is a security hole. This means that any person can just fill in any email and if this e-mail is in the contact database WA will override internal data with the ones that public user defined.

Thanks to Barbara, here is current workaround:

TO ADD A SITEMAP.XML to a WA SITE:
Create a new folder under file mangement called sitemap.
Then upload your site map to this folder.
Sumbit your site map to Google, it will look something like this yoursite.com/resources/sitemap/sitemap.xmlA good place for free google sitemaps is:

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedAn error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedI joined 2 threads on similar problem
An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedSorry for a late reply. I agree with your point - forums need a major upgrade. Unfortunately we are currently busy with changing a different part of our system (CMS and payments) and no chance we can make major forum changes in 2011.
In the meantime I would be glad to here from others on the initial comment on things like recent posts, active topics, etc.
An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedThis is good suggestion. Anybody wants to comment/rate this?
Jay - I assume that there have to be some link that helps user to show all unread thread? Also, an action to mark all as read?

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedThe problem is that public member profile (the one that opens by the link) can be accessed by direct link and the link is the same from different directories. So we can potentially disable the link, but this will not close the "security/privacy" issue you're speaking about.
Member determines what to show in his profile using privacy options. There are default privacy options that admin determines and they used by new members, but any member can change them for himself. So strictly speaking there is no privacy or security issues here - each member has an access on over information he wants to show to outside world.
Joined the thread into existing one
An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedThinking loud... What if instead of a single "Members" other access setting we have 2: "All members" and "Members of your level only".
First one - "All levels" - works the very same way as now, meaning that if a user is logged in and he has membership active, then he is able to see the field in your profile
Second one - "Members of your level only" - would allow to see this field in your profile only for members in the same level as your own.
This set up can resolve the very initial problem - Members and Organizations. Two levels can have 2 separate set of fields, and each of these fields would have "Members of your level only" other access option. In this case, members, even if logged in, will not be able to see organizations fields.
OR
we should redesign our member privacy options page and fields setup options and make them more robust and per level rather then global for all.
An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedI like suggestion about 2 options - just directory listing without access to profile or listing with access to profile.
But I would like to here comments from other people here as I'm not sure if this is a right move for all clients.

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedAny comments from others?
What if system automatically keeps all links up-to-date on other pages when you change page name? would it solve your problem?

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedThanks for the comment, I can assure you that we understand the problem.
An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedI would say that the problem is not in number of fields to be shown in each column, but in absence of special address field that shows address in special way (not field by field). \
Still I agree that it is reasonable to increase a number of fields from 3 to at least 5 in each member directory column.

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedI believe we need to consider this together with http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308920-archive/suggestions/8834698-5-year-renewal-period-10559 and just allow to setup any custom renewal period (week, year, etc.)

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedThis is probably to be covered with so called "Newsletter templates" feature we're planning to release in 2012 Q2 - see http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308920-archive/suggestions/8832034-email-templates-3194 .
Main part of the change will be ability to use predefined templates when sending email to a member or list of members - including usage of macro.
An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedThanks for comments, they look quite reasonable. Unfortunately this is not in our current plans for 2011 but we will keep looking after this thread.

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedWe're planning to make a very simple change - sort attendees alphabetically (last name), instead of current registration date order.
We may consider additional settings to control the sorting, but not now - we usually are very reluctant to add additional settings parameters when a key problem can be resolved without it - and this is exactly the case here as last name sorting looks very common approach, easy to understand and use.
The question is: would it work for everybody? Or someone is heavily relying on registration date order?
Just to remind: we are speaking about publically available attendee list, not the one that admin can see via admin backend.

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commented- Sorry, no workaround in Wild Apricot to get a single page with updated from all members own photo albums.
- Photo albums functional pages photos do count into limits.I can see here actually several things for possible future enhancements in Wild Apricot:
1) Make new functional page / gadget that shows recently added photos added by members into their profiles. The page should have setting to define which members to include into list (all, specific levels, etc.). The pages shows a list of photos, there is a way to understand date when it was added and who added it. Probably, the page should show photos grouped by member
2) Allow to show in member directory last uploaded picture, total number of albums and photos and also allow to sort by these parameters
3) On photo album functional page for each photo give a name of a member that uploaded it. Make this behavior optional - so if admin wants he can enable or disable this.
UPD: Actually, system already shows member name that uploaded a photo.Comments?

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedSorry for a late reply.
Do you mean that when a member makes a reply to another member's post, he wants to make it anonymously so that post creator does not have a link to his profile?

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedSorry for a late reply. Thanks for comments - but unfortunately this not going to be implement soon. There are a lot of other changes we are doing now plus there are more important forum changes in queue (like forums moderation http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8825590-add-moderation-of-new-forum-posts-3452 )

An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedSorry for a long reply - this is still in queue and small chances to have it in 2011.
Note also related post http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8826364-future-dating-blog-posts-5011 about future-dated posts.
An error occurred while saving the comment Evgeny Zaritovskiy commentedNo, this is not possible now but it looks like a good idea so I move it to our Wish list forum.
And can you please give more details on what you are trying to achieve? It's not common to remove blog posts so I'd would really want to know more of what is behind that.
Isn't this the same problem as http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8826229-functionality-to-track-donation-pledges-9178 ?
