Ability to change sort order on the attendee list - published view
I know this has been talked about before, but it looks like it was just on the admin side.
I am wondering if there is a way to sort the attendee list that is published for general members to see.
We tend to have about 800-900 members register to attend our events, and would like the list to be sorted alphabetically so that people can easily search to see if their friends have registered. It is currently sorted by WHEN they registered.

It seems like the common consensus is to have this list sorted alphabetically. Seems strange that this wasn't done from the start considering it is the global #1 method for finding names in a list...
Can you just get it done please? People have been asking for it for 10 years now. -

Any update on adding this feature? It is not user-friendly for members to have to scroll through the attendee list to find out if a specific person is registered. Members do not care when people registered. They want to be able to see a list of registrants sorted alphabetically.

It would be great if they could also print or create a pdf themselves.

This is very important to our members - no one cares about registration date order - just alpha.

A sort capability and a search capability just like Admin have.

We also would very much like to see the public view attendee list sorted alphabetically. Our members want to see who else is attending when they sign up for an event. we have no use for current date sort order...

The feature in the Calendar that allows registrants names to be displayed should have a sort option. Currently, the names are listed in reverse chronological order with the latest registrants being first. Sorting alphabetically by Last Name (Surname) would be much more useful if someone is looking for a particular name. The other option would be to have a search function that would look through the registrants.

No, actually the members like to see who is coming to the event. And if they want to find a specific person it is easier to go through the list alphabetically.
The reason for the guest names is that other members can see if a particular spouse or child is coming to the event. Currently, the only way to see the name of the guest would be for the member to register each guest on a separate registration.
In any case, we get more registrations when members know a certain member or members are also attending.

Let me ask you - what is the reason behind this? My guess is that you want this to use for attendance tracking / at the door check-in.

If we go to Wild Apricot from Regonline, we apparently lose the ability to sort the posted names and racing fleets of people signed up for our sailing regattas. This is a very "nice to have." Members click on a link and can see everyone registered, not by date as in WA, but by alphabetical fleet and then alphabetical name. Date registered is minor interest.

We're planning to make a very simple change - sort attendees alphabetically (last name), instead of current registration date order.
We may consider additional settings to control the sorting, but not now - we usually are very reluctant to add additional settings parameters when a key problem can be resolved without it - and this is exactly the case here as last name sorting looks very common approach, easy to understand and use.
The question is: would it work for everybody? Or someone is heavily relying on registration date order?
Just to remind: we are speaking about publically available attendee list, not the one that admin can see via admin backend.

This would be a nice feature to have. My need is similiar, though it would be nice to have more options than just alphabetically (ie think sortability of member directory).

It is currently not possible to change this sort order. We will move this post to the wishlist forum to gauge the need for this functionality.

We would like the ability to display the list of attendees in alphabetical order rather than in date order. Also we would like the name of the guest(s) displayed next to the member rather than a count.
