An error occurred while saving the comment Roger Brooks commentedWild Apricot is fairly good at allowing administration without requiring knowledge of HTML, but this is a glaring exception. Lacking a function like this, there are many cases where HTML must be edited directly to update the website.

An error occurred while saving the comment Roger Brooks commentedWe too have a lot of mail to members marked as spam, delivered to spam folders or even just deleted despite correct DKIM and SPF implementation.
This will only get more and more important as people (and organizations) get more security-conscious!P.S. Since Syd Weinstein talks about an address at wildapricot.org, I presume he doesn't have his own domain. We do, but the lack of DMARC support is still a problem, as is the lack of flexibility in DKIM and SPF!

1. Create a new page for past events.
2. Copy the Page ID from the "General" section of the page.
3. Add an Event Calendar gadget to the page.
4. In the gadget settings, enable "Show past events" and choose "List" as "Default view".
5. To suppress the appearance of upcoming events, insert the following in the site's CSS, substituting the copied paged ID for NNNNN:

As mentioned in https://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8828056-list-of-past-events-on-a-calendar, past events are good advertising. Showing the public what we've been doing is a way to attract new members. Furthermore, presenters at our events often allow us to post their slides or other supplemental material from the event on our website. For lack of a better place (see https://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8825776-after-event-materials-link-for-presentation-docume#comments and https://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8827870-allow-members-to-post-comments-pre-post-events), we usually add them as attachments to the event. Those interested in these materials will have a much easier time finding them in a list of past events in reverse chronological order than they will searching through the calendar gadget.

An error occurred while saving the comment Roger Brooks commentedSteve has done what he can since this post to make the help page a bit more helpful, but the process still could use some improvement.
1. Refunds could be better integrated into the invoicing process, since refunds are generally applied against invoices.
2. The exclusion of fully settled invoices from the process is arbitrary and counter-intuitive, as this is a common use case: a member has overpaid an invoice, perhaps due to incorrect options selection and is due a refund, but first the invoice needs to be voided or edited and then the refund generated against the open payment balance.
3. It would probably be easier to understand (and use) if refunds were separated from payments.
4. In particular, the terminology "Add refund" is misleading. Instead, the button should be labeled "Record refund". This is one of the things that makes it counter-intuitive. If I *add* a refund I expect it to reduce *the amount the member owes the club". Entering a refund in Wild Apricot is however intended to record a refund *being paid out* to a member (or contact) and therefore reduces *the amount the club owes the member*.Roger Brooks supported this idea · -

Even without actually refunding anything (https://gethelp.wildapricot.com/en/articles/85-refunds explicitly excludes this possibility), it would be nice to have the single "Cancel & Refund" button requested. As it is, I still have to void the invoice, then find the open balance and then refund it to settle everything within WA's accounting.

As a workaround, we created the membership level "Resigned". "Active" members can switch to "Resigned" and vice versa. "Resigned" members are excluded from renewal reminders, and lose their membership when they fail to pay the following years dues. For a detailed description please see item 2 in the description in our FAQ for board members below:
1. Immediate resignation:
Simply suspend the membership. (See the Wild Apricot help article "Suspending memberships".) His profile information will no longer be accessible to other members. If the member asks to be removed from our database, see the Wild Apricot help article "Deleting and archiving contacts".
2. Resignation effective at the end of the current calendar year:
Members can change their own membership level to "Resigned".
If a member notifies the board of their resignation instead, the Membership Secretary should change the member's level to "Resigned":
In either case:
The member's status will remain "Active".
Until they have been removed from "Active" status, they will have the possibility of changing back to active membership.
They will not receive an invoice for the subsequent year.
