Integrate Facebook Connect login option for members [9204]
Would you consider implementing Facebook Connect? http://developers.facebook.com/connect.php So that people can log onto our websites as members using their Facebook account information?
The next step would be a Facebook App that could then feed information into our members Facebook notifications areas!

Released in 5.2

How will this work for existing members? For example, if a member joins today, and then a year from now needs to renew but can't remember their password, will this enable them to log-in? Or will the person need to log-in with their WA credentials in order to connect the social account first?
My organization uses WA widgets embedded in an external site, and the reset password workflow does not work well for our purposes. If this meant members could log-in without having to first reset their existing password, that would be a huge improvement.
Also, what about new members? Will connecting a social media account be part of the registration process at all or can it be? For example, could they use their social media account to auto-fill information, or use Google Wallet to pay? Just trying to wrap my head around the scope of the change as it applies for strictly membership management purposes, not member participation in the site. Thanks.

You can do this now - customize Event registration system page and add there social sharing gadget https://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Sharing+buttons+gadget

In version 5.2, we are working on the first scenario from our roadmap of integration of Wild Apricot and social networks - login option for contacts/members. This feature simplifies the process for contacts and members to log into Wild Apricot accounts.
Click the image below for a sneak preview of solution we are working on right now:
Please, place your comments here, in this thread. To review our current development status and plans (including this topic), see our Roadmap http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8827717-roadmap-2015-plans-releases-expected-dates .

I think this is much lower priority than some other wishlist features. I don't hear any problems from users having issues logging in. I would like to see a "share to facebook" link after you registered for an event though, to help get the word out about events, but even that is low priority for me.

My organization has a facebook page and most members have facebook logins. I have had requests to set up SSO between Wild Apricot and Facebook to simplify login. This is becoming increasingly common on web sites, and Facebook has published good instructions on how to make it happen.
Hope it is coming! Thanks!

No progress so far.
And we cannot provide any timeline, sorry. We are slowly going there - recently we implemented API - and part of this road is integration with additional login services. But this is not something we can estimate now, we're very busy with other things currently.

Has there been any progress on this? Can someone in WA attest to a timeline for releasing features that allow for Facebook integration? I am very interested in this thread.

Dmitry, I'm not impressed with your approach to this issue. If one of your users gives you feedback, you should look into it, don't question it and belittle the user and the quality of your forum (not to mention your brand).

We hear you.

Add another vote for possible Facebook integration, or if there is some type of workaround. I noticed someone mentioned Javascript issues with WA/Facebook but that was 4 years ago.
Our members vary, but we are a campground, therefore quite a few of them are older and prefer the ease of use that integration with Facebook offers. I have administered other (free) forums that offer the same integration.
Please reconsider offering it. As someone who works in IT, I can appreciate prioritizing and all the requests you must be receiving, but it's just a little surprising that it's not offered.
Thank you!

Please, urgently needed!

I think that WA is falling waaaaay behind the times here without this integration. All of my new clients expect it as part of a website now and if we cannot provide it - they will go somewhere else.

There is no simple 'demand count' - we also take into account the input we get in support and customer surveys.
As it stands, I don't expect us to release this at least in the next 12 months.

Good Morning Mr. Buterin,
Can you please tell me what the demand count is at currently?
I am looking to purchase Wild Apricot's services, but I am looking for Facebook connect integration. In what time frame do you honestly believe this integration to be implemented?
November the 13th will be the four year anniversary of the remark you posted noting the demand. What progress has been made thus far?
Thanks for your time.

In my opinion, this feature is becoming a must have. It would be awesome if you could do this on your next release.

I'm sure there is far more demand for this feature than the number of posts here.
Please, please incorporate Facebook login in the near future.

Jan commented
Totally agree. Please implement this feature. No need to wait for more DEMAND. Thanks.

Thanks for posting. For me the key thing I still want to understand for this request is the scenario/use case behind it and would appreciate more input from everyone.
