Jenn, you are wonderful! Thank you for sharing this. I was desperately looking for a way to easily sort my membership levels.

We are moving this to the wishlist until we have a set release date for it.

This would be a great feature!
I think I read how to do this on here (because I am not this creative), but we have been able to get around this so far by just adding spaces in front of the levels to sort them by price (lowest to highest).
(2 spaces) $15 (student)
(1 space) $20 (individual)
(0 spaces) $35 (family)

Thanks for this info. Adding spaces worked just fine. I welcome the ability to manually sort levels - any timeline on this?
Thank you!

Well, I am very happy with this interim change -- so thank you. I just added the requisite number of leading spaces to make things sort as I wanted, yet the spaces aren't displayed.

Sorry, there is no way for us to change anything until we release manual sorting.

hi Chief,
Renaming levels/adding spaces don't look good in our case, since we have different application pages for different category of memberships.
If we can't have manual sorting soon, we prefer sorting by membership fee (low to high).
Can we have the option to use membership fee sorting or alpha sorting? or can WA switch back to membership fee sorting until you develop the manual sorting?
Thanks.

Dmitry Buterin commented
esl - Alpha sorting you can adjust by simply renaming levels/adding spaces in front of names.
Re manual sort - I do not expect us to be able to put it in for at least the couple of next releases. TOo much other stuff already in the works.

YIKES!!
I did not realize from the first comment that this was something that had already been put in place!
Our member page isn't too bad, but yes, our sponsor page is UGLY! Got to go do something about that right now . . .

Hello Dmitry,
Thanks so very much for the new alpha sort feature on Membership signup forms!
By simply naming the levels to follow what we wanted we now have exactly the sequence we needed to avoid people taking the cheapest rate even when that is not what they wanted, (because they did not have the patience to look through the options.)
Keep up the good work!

hi Chief,
We don't like the current alpha sorting - it looks messy in our application form. It is even worse than ascending cost sorting.
Manual sorting will be the perfect solution. You said 10 days work for manual sorting. Can we expect to have manual sorting next month?
Thanks for your hard work.

Dmitry Buterin commented
Yeah, unfortunately alpha sorting is much easier (say 1 day of work) than manual sorting (~10 days)...

I'm not looking forward to the middle step - I envision a mess when sorted alpha. About the only way to fix it will be to put a number in front of each one to order them . . .
Is there a big time lag between middle step and final step? Can it just wait?

We are currently planning on doing this in a couple of stages
In the first stage, we are going to change the sorting of membership levels. They will no longer be done by cost, but instead will be alphabetical by membership level name. You will then be able to exert control over their placement by giving them names that either arrange alphabetically, or by placing a blank space in front of names that you want at the top of your list.
The next stage will include the ability to create a custom order of membership levels regardless of price and name.

We'd like this feature, because the way it is now, the free membership sorts to the top of the list, even though it's our least common category (only for retired "emeritus" faculty members).

We have exactly this problem with the Membership Level sort sequence ourselves, just as we are getting ready (in the next week) to make a large push for more members!!! Argh!
The current sort sequence seems to be in ascending cost sequence, then alpha within levels with the same cost. A quick fix for us would be to simply drop the cost part of the sort - comment it out for God's sake - and leave a general alpha sort for the levels.
Then we can put numbers or letters in front of the Level Names and get exactly the result we need, on our own, with no new switches or controls needed.

Most of our prospective members will have to pick the membership level that is almost at the bottom of the page, while the cheaper but rather exceptional levels are shown at the top and will only confuse and frustrate them. Having the possibility to manually re-order the membership levels is therefore extremely important to us. Thank you in advance for helping us out asap.

Having the ability to manually sort membership levels is critically important to me. 90% of my membership utilizes the membership level that is now at the bottom (out of 6 levels)! New members signing up will find this very confusing! I signed up for WildApricot to help make things more streamlined for myself and my members - not to confuse them more. Please help by implementing this asap.

Excellent! I missed the little radio buttons at the bottom of the page when I first set it up. Thanks for the tip - splitting the two categories works much better.

sabobird - what yoг have described can be done in the current system. Simply add two membership application pages and set one to only display regular memberships and another one business memberships.
