Inventory/Asset management
Hi,
My organization has a library that we allow members to check out from every month. With that said I was hoping for 2 things.
1) an inventory database to keep track of our media (I can see this also being useful for other things such as equipment we own or donation items we get and then give)
2) the capability to connect members to an item. this would allow us to track who checked something out and automatically send out reminder emails to members and what they have checked out (currently this is all done my hand each month and the library has a separate excel doc with emails and information which is already in WA)
If these 2 things aren't possible I'm hoping for at least a connection to a MySQL database possible.
Thanks!

We use WildApricot to help run our Yacht Club. Keeping track of empty docks when our members are away is a chore (we have 180 docks/boats).
When members are away, or planning to be away, we would like to know those dates so that their dock can be used for visiting boats.
An online WA solution would be ideal to make it as easy as possible for members to sign-out; and for people like me to assign docks to visitors. -

I'd like to vote for this again for the OTHER organization that I am webmaster of - they need this so badly!

I am looking for a product/service that does everything Wild Apricot does, plus check assets/items/equipment in and out. Specifically: rowing clubs and venues have boats their members can use and also need to keep track of which members are out on what boats and when they come back. Using your existing platform to issue permanent QR codes to each boat, then have a rower scan those codes, we would need a real time list of activities for each boat going in and out with which person or people (based on WA's ability to associate mobile numbers with an ID and have "guests" -- the other rowers on a multi-athlete boat). Maybe have an alarm if a boat wasn't back on time. And having the ability to analyze boat use and print reports about it.
It seems that WA could be adapted to handle this. We are wondering whether it has the capability and we've just missed it on your site or something like this is in the works. -

I posted this comment in response to a different, but related, wishlist item. I represent a genealogical society that maintains databases of indexes to birth, marriage, death, obituary, etc. records. We would prefer not to have to use an additional website (for example, a WordPress website with a Ninja Tables or WP Data Access plug-in) to store our databases. It would be very useful if Wild Apricot provided this capability.

As a club, we have assets that our members can borrow. However, we have no way to manage these "assets" in WA today. We'd like to be able to list the assets and offer a scheduling option to check out an item, then check it back in when returned (ex. like a library book but with the option to schedule for a few hours, a whole day, a weekend, etc.). This would make it easier for members to look online to see if an asset is available or not, when it will be available, and who has it. This could be used for books, physical equipment (bikes, paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, etc.) and other shared assets like overhead projectors, screens, laptop, etc. This would make the management so much easier.

We're releasing free orders for Online store - and one of the possible scenarios that can be addressed using this functionality is inventory tracking. Will be public with 7.19 in 1st half of Mar 2021

WildApricot replied to my input by an email, instead of doing it here:
"Hi Jean-Baptiste,
You can build integration with other applications by using WildApricot API
https://gethelp.wildapricot.com/en/articles/182-using-wild-apricot-s-api
Best regards,
Katya Tyukina
Product Manager of Wild Apricot by Personify"
... so it seems highly unlikely that WildApricot will ever offer the service of a normal basic website host, including building/control over custom databases.
Even for its customer who choose to build their website through WA's interface, the answer to database customization is "do it outside of WA, and use the API", forcing users to source database hosting outside of the website they built on WA, and to develop extra outside tools around the API to eventually integrate the result in their WA website. -

We would LOVE this! We're exploring moving to RecHub for this very feature to help us manage our fleet (Capris, sunfish, paddleboards, canoes, kayaks, windsurfers, prams, and 420's). We need to be able to check in/check out boats and remove from the list for maintenance (very similar to a comment by Jean-Baptiste Leveque posted on 2/19/2021). Please feel free to contact me.

We just started using WildApricot at our sailing club, and would appreciate having not only the one database, but instead have the following relationship databases as well:
- a database of equipment (boats, sails, etc...) to manage usage and condition
- a database of bookings to manage fleet usage
- a database of maintenance tickets to manage fleet maintenance
- a database of volunteer tasks to track how much our members contribute back to the clubMore generally, being able to build custom relationship databases would be greatly appreciated.
Barring that, if not MySQL which type of outside database can WA interact with?

Allow for the creation of additional databases beside the single membership DB. This would allow organizations that other items that they want to track or organize in a DB. Examples: Inventory of Library Books, Cemetery Records, track Projects, etc.

This general concept could be used in a lot of ways!
I have an application for pet (dog) rescue, wherein people could adopt dogs or put them up for adoption.
All sorts of things would be possible if there were an independent object database with its own primary key and attributes, that could be linked to members 1-to-1 and searched.

We would like a way to list an inventory of books and tools. Functionality of loaning (check out/in books) could come later.

We, too, would love a way to link membership to an inventory system of books and tools.

We have a book library and an equipment/tool library. It would be nice to be able to have these assets online and to be able to track them with WA

Could an inventory database serve the purpose of class tracking? Set up classes as product and product type with description, hours, CEU, and then run reports by member, date, etc to see what they have "purchased" then use that to create reports, or transcripts.

We also need database functionality. We are a publisher and have 800 essays that we would like to post in a searchable index. They are currently displayed as tables (1992-style).

We haven't considered this request yet. I do not see any workaround with WA functionality now, you will have to track it manually somehow.
