Calendars that sync with Google Cal or Outlook
Calendars that sync with Google Cal or Outlook
Right now, parents on our ski team must manually click each event to "add to my calendar," but since we have as many as 2-3 events per week, that is a burden. Instead, they would love to subscribe to a series of events (for instance, all events that share a given tag).
We just launched integration with Integromat platform, which helps to build automated workflows. We also provide several templates for quick start, and one of them allows to copy Wild Apricot events into google calendar. So you can share this google calendar and you members can subscribe to it.
You can try the integration by this link https://www.integromat.com/en/integration/2276-copy-wild-apricot-events-into-google-calendar

Yes! Another vote for the linkage between WA events and an external calendar (e.g., Google Calendar). Besides the integration with individuals' calendars, one can embed Google Calendar within a Web page.
As far as I know, WA doesn't have a "calendar at a glance" feature.

This is very important to us! As we transition to WA from our current site, many members have expressed a concern that they will not be able to link our calendar to their phones via Google Calendar. This our biggest barrier to the transition, and we'll likely continue to use Google Calendar for our event management until WA integrates this function. The add to my calendar feature wont push events to them the way Google does.
Please let this community know if we can help develop this!
Thank you. -

I went through many sync programs until I found sync2, so far it's the best tool to help sync calendars between Outlook and Google. Check it out: http://www.sync2.com/google-sync-to-outlook.aspx

I would like the events calendar to be able to be subscribed to, not just on a per event basis as is now the case.

Hi Frank! I have a vested interest in seeing this come back to life, and may have the dev skills to help! Was the last iteration posted on GitHub or anything open-source? Happy to take a look!

Hi Allison,
I'll take another look at this to see if it's something we can recreate. If we can, I'll post an update here.

Please bring it back!!! Doing double the work posting to WA and Google.

yes, this! This is probably the most important event feature you could add to the system.

100% want this feature! Our club is event base driven so having a calendar that syncs to a mobile device is critical for keeping our members up to date on last minute changes along with having everything we offer at their finger tips. Does anybody have a work around in the mean time? I know individual events can be easily added to calendar but I don't believe they update if they are changed. Is there something I can suggest they use relating to the RSS feed and an RSS feed app as an alternative? Thanks!

So... there's no syncing between Google Calendar and wild Apricot?

We have a large number of members who would like to "subscribe" to our calendar via the CalDAV specification.
As an example of how this might work, MLB offers this feature so that a follower can receive the contents of the calendar for a specific team's schedule in the Calendar apps on a Mac/iPhone/iPad by subscribing to ‘webcal://mlb.am/tix/rays_schedule_full’ which is the site “serving” the schedule in an iCal format. During the subscribing process a user can choose how often the calendar is updated thereby getting changes without having to manually refresh the calendar.
This is a request that seems to be coming up more and more often. Thanks!

I'm glad you liked it.
This was discontinued because of some changes in how Google reads event data, so once I'm able to update it I will post a new notification in the thread.
However keep in mind that these experiments are personal projects I work on outside of my work so they're not supported by our team here and will most likely be replaced by actual features in Wild Apricot (at some point).
But that being said - I do like to create these interim solutions to fill the gap between what we offer now and what we might offer in the future.

Does that mean that this feature no longer works??? It was a great idea that made it very easy for people to add our events to their calendar. Why turn it off?

Frank commented
Yes this experiment has ended. If there are updates to it in the future I will post them here.

It looks like some kind of access problem, can you recheck the URL?
You can see that http://inventorsforum.memberlodge.org/Content/RSS/events.ashx?pageId=83347 returns a feed while http://www.hopeca.com/Content/RSS/events.ashx?pageId=143362 returns Resource not found so page is not correct/not publicly accessible.

Did this experiment end? My feed URL comes up with a "Failed to fetch..." error and Google can't see it. If the feed generator script has been removed, has it be replaced with something else? I could really use this functionality... getting my WA events into a shared Google calendar!
Actually, I just tried this with my other WA account and this URL works... http://freshapricot.com/apps/wildapricot/events/feedtogoogle.php?url=inventorsforum.memberlodge.org/Content/RSS/events.ashx?pageId=83347
But the one I'm having trouble with is this one... http://freshapricot.com/apps/wildapricot/events/feedtogoogle.php?url=www.hopeca.com/Content/RSS/events.ashx?pageId=143362

Would like the ability to export the entire event calendar at once, to an Excel/csv file; currently can only export events one at a time to a calendar format. This would allow us to check all the specifics for all the events, compare each event that is repeated, without having to go into each registration type to check dates and details.
