Discount coupons for membership level upgrades
I have offered a one-year free membership to my new membership site users using a 100% off coupon that I created. It works pretty slick, when the new member signs up, the space for the code is right at the bottom of the sign up screen.
However, when a "free" member wants to convert to a paid membership using the coupon- the coupon code spot not there. Can you please add it to this form?

I would second that request.
If the systemwas designed correctly, a request like this should be easily implementable in afew hours. However, with the push back I have seen, I'm not too sure whatthey have done and I will be curious to see their response.

My first membership level is free - people take a small step and peek at what is available.
My aim is to persuade them to Upgrade to a paid membership.
I would like to be able to encourage/ promote with discount coupons...
.but every person upgrading to paid membership is already a member - so coupons cannot be used.
WA tell me I am correct
It appears to me that discount coupons are a very powerful promotional tool.
I would like to see coupons available not only for new memberships but for upgrades in membership.
I feel sure they could be used in other imaginative ways and should be a high priority enhancement.

This should be very easy to provide and would be very flexible. This mechanism must already exist, but is restricted to new membership transactions.
I can see that there might be problems - a discount code for an event would, if used, provide a discount on a membership upgrade. This could be overcome with a "Global" switch. "ON" means discount coupons apply to anything, "OFF" coupons apply as they do now...to be expanded at a future date.

we want to have this feature too -- we need to give current free membership an incentive to upgrade.
