Insert Picture Into Text
With the new email update, I was told by Wild Apricot that you can no longer insert pictures into the text. This is an issue especially, for example, if I want to include a signature block and cannot include the company logo below the name, address, etc. I would have to instead include an additional image gadget and line it up just right with the signature block.

WA should include the old email editing, which was much more useful in so many ways, in addition to the new one.

We've developed a simple yet effective workaround by composing emails requiring images in an external editor, such as Google Docs or in a WA blog entry. Once the content is ready, we copy and paste everything into an email template. Linked images will make this transfer nicely and even get a Settings option to adjust positioning or sizing. Not everything is rendered exactly as in the source editor, but it typically takes very little time to make corrections.
Note that you can also paste images from your computer's clipboard directly into an email template. Alas, you will have no control over text flow or resizing.

Frankly, it's been a year and I don't see any improvement in the "new" email editor and would prefer to have the old one back.

there is no way to flow text around the graphics. Our new news editor just sent me a copy of what she wants the newsletter to look like, and there is NO WAY we can make it look as good as she has.

Can't see any reason why this is not available

This email layout program stinks.

I have been working with this stuff for over 4 years. This email editor is very difficult to work with. The workflow often saves multiple copies of the template I work with, but I HAVE to use the manual save to get out of the design program, no text wrapping and it is SO inflexible that it looks so "old school" The mobile version is incredibly boring. Please consider bringing back some of the features of the old email program.

Am constantly struggling with the new email editor. Bring back the old one or fix this. Don't use this new one for event emails or any others. Why, oh, why, can't we access the HTML?

A plain text file, such as a file with a .txt extension, can only have plain, unformatted text and no images inserted into it. If you are working with a plain text file, it needs to be converted into a file format that supports RTF (rich text format). https://vidmateapp.win https://canlimacizle.red/
To convert the file to RTF, you can save the file as a different file format, such as .RTF or .DOC for users using Microsoft Word or WordPad. Once the file is converted, you can follow the steps below for inserting an image into the text file.

Yes, please let us have this feature. It is really important.

Each month I post head shots of 5-6 new members into one of my weekly emails to an audience of 2,000 people. To do it, I put the pix onto a page of a Word document, convert the Word doc into a pdf and then Browse it into the Pictures folder and insert it into a Gadget as if it were a photo. It takes at least an hour, sometimes longer. I used to insert the pix into the column with wrap-around text. Help!!!! Pulleeeeze!!!

Currently, I am looking at Wild Apricot as an option for my organization. This is a definite shortcoming that will be considered as we move forward with a decision as to what application my organization will choose. I'll check back to see if this is remedied.

It's 51 votes now.
I have all my social media images in a line at the bottom of my emails. We just added YouTube but I can't add the YouTube image with the other logos because of this new editor. It also took me forever to get the text font and size to be the same when before it would have take 2 seconds to fix it using html. The only email option I need is a template where I can set a header and footer and only have to change the body each time yet that is the one thing they didn't give us. We also can't easily change system emails because they aren't all in one place. Yet, we have this new editor. I hope it NEVER gets rolled out for events.
For those that need text wrapping they posted a "workaround". A workaround that takes infinitely longer than just inserting an image where you want it.

All images to be embedded within text in the new email editor. Our newsletter editors are not tech savvy. Having to do a workaround to get desired images included throughout the various sections of text is added work even if they were able to figure out how to do it for each weekly set of announcements.

would love to be able to add a photo into the text box in my templates and wrap the text around the photo - like we used to be able to do. Thanks

Let's get this feature back. Very frustrating when it was so easy in the old version

Why is an item with 35 votes not responded by WA in 4 months?

Another important feature removed in an email update. Why work so hard to make your product less useful? Please restore this basic feature ASAP, or allow use of the previous editor. I just spent 30 minutes pasting (I copy emails from Outlook due to WA text formatting bugs) that would have taken 5 minutes with the old editor. The extra work included: selecting from various inadequate layouts, adding multiple additional layouts and context gadgets, adjusting the layout cells to remove default padding, cutting and copying text (several times) to balance the columns. What a complete waste of time this is to generate an inferior looking email. If this continues, I'm going to have to use a 3rd party email system. I was thinking about this anyway with billing by (limitation) of email contacts, rather than active/members. Sad.

Fully agree! Taking away the text wrap around is a step backwards.
