For some members we would like to choose a different billing date other than monthly. In our situation we don't need to bill on a specific date and have flexibility. For example, instead of billing monthly one member may have a package where we bill six times a year. It would be helpful if we could select which months the billing takes place. It would also be nice to have the flexibility to set the number of billing period. One member may be six times a year and another member may be four times a year.

While this feature request has been around for 13 years, and I understand priorities shift, its core value—automated trial upgrades—remains highly relevant. Specifically, enabling automatic conversion to a paid membership upon successful payment would significantly enhance the user experience. A basic custom renewal period, without that automation, is less impactful.

I'm curious if there are any updates or a potential timeframe for when this type of automated upgrade feature might be considered for implementation?

Have the feature to create for a customizable renewal period, such as every X days/weeks/months/years. In our case, we'd like a renewal period that is every other month (e.g., every 60 days).

Dear Wild apricot team. It's been 2 years since myself and a number of people have suggest that you make it possible to have termly membership as an option. 3 times a year. This is surely a simple update as yearly, half yearly and quarterly is already an option.

Not having this option is causing great annoyance to me and anybody else with a membership that renews 3 times a year.

Please please make this change!

I have renewed for 2 years but will be seeking a different platform for my group if this doesn't become available as a feature.

Currently, Wild Apricot is set up to renew annually (12 months). We need to expand this to 18 months. We have 45 members who needs theirs to automatically be set for 18 months and not 12.

I would love to see more flexibility with this - ie every week for 8 weeks, or ever second week for 3 months etc.

We wanted to have a 10 or 15 year renewal period because we have members who do not have credit cards and it is a process for them to get a check and send in an application renewal form so to make their life easier we thought of the idea of having a longer renewal period option. Not a lifetime membership but close for some people.

Coming from a background in S/W development I am curious why this option has to be a dropdown and not a simple variable you can use to enter your own number of years?

Hi I would like to set a membership scheme that is scheduled every 28 days (thus having 13 invoices per member per year). Is there a way to do it as the only option i see are to repeat a member ever 1st or 15th of the month

This is a membership platform that doesn't allow for monthly memberships to end? I've run several membership based businesses and EVERY other platform allows this. I cannot believe this is not a feature that you have. A simple calendar field to allow for 3/6/9/14 month membership period with renewal. This ONE feature is going to cause us to move to another platform.

We would like to be able to offer a membership period that lasts for an arbitrary length of time. In one case, we need to have a seven month membership (December 1 through June 30).

The need also exists to renew for just the current "season" and not renew for a subsequent season. The current renewal policy of allowing to renew 1 season ahead should allow to turn off renewals for 1 season ahead completely.

The issue with renewals for 1 season ahead has to do with financial record keeping and some sports/seasonal club do not want to allow renewals for anything but the current season.

There is insufficient flexibility in the ability to customise renewal dates and payment date options. We operate on a Calendar year fee basis, but give options for people to pay up to 1st April, or in certain cases in instalments. The current options do not allow for 'twice a year' to be eg 1 Jan and 1st April, or 15 Jan, 15 Feb, 15 Mar and then stop. We are 'seasonable' and want people to pay before the season starts in April. We also need member profile to describe the 'subscription period' not as 1 year, but as 'calendar year 1 January-31 December, otherwise it is just confusing for our members as we set our renewal date to April 1 to generate the auto invoices and reminders to have paid by 1 April.

Configure specific membership renewal dates; ex. Start on 1 November 2016 and end on 1 March 2018.

Our club has programs for students where the term of the membership is oriented to a semester. For example, fall semester has 4 months and spring semester has 5 months with no membership durring the summer. It is also important for us to have recurring payments for these memberships.

I would think this would be a fairly common need for any athletic club that caters to students.

Shorter term membership options : One week, Single time drop in

Not sure it's the same thing, but I have a number of clients who would like to offer short term, one time memberships. Perhaps just a few months, or a year at most. The member can renew at that time but has to select a different level. One example would be a specially priced membership for a newly graduated student. They can only use it their first year after graduation and then have to renew as a professional-level member.

This proposal is to allow a member or an administrator to set multiples of a membership level’s standard term of renewal as a part of peforming a single renewal, while updating the renewal date and the renewal date on the membership account and the price on the generated invoice accordingly. For example if the membership term for given level is one month, the administrator or the member could “dial in” a selected multiple of that term with the price, renewal date, and generated invoice reflecting the extended term.

The “dial” could be a UI device that shows a pop-up of integer terms ahead that also accepts and validates text entered integers >=1; an alternate indicator would be a calendar UI object that shows the new renewal date. This option could be added to the definition of any membership level that has any predefined term (month, year, etc.). As possible additional features administrators could set a maximum limit on the number of membership terms added (to prevent abuse), a notification flag could go to administrators if a large number is selected (a warning of a major commitment or potential abuse of the system), or one or more discounts could be applied to memberships renewed above a specified number of terms.

Our club uses monthly membership terms. The current system of renewing a membership for multiple terms is very awkward. Either an administrator shoves cyclical renewals into the membership account, generating multiple email warnings, or he/she manually adjusts the term of the membership and manually creates an invoice, or the member has to try to perform the first approach with even less flexibility. We have had several members put in donations to cover multiple session memberships because doing so under the membership process is either too cumbersome or impossible; the administrator inevitably has had to issue an internal refund to the membership account and then issue a manual invoice. The only other alternative is to create additional levels for longer terms but this becomes impractical to manage as there can be too many permutations when multiple standard levels of membership already exist.

Please note the significance of forcing administrators to issue a manual invoice for a membership: once a membership invoice is created manually it does not show up as a membership invoice in the financial reports. Manual invoices are a separate category from membership invoices, thus eliminating the effectiveness of simply uploading those reports into an accounting package.

Members make their own decisions about how far ahead they want to pay their dues. This proposal is to acknowledge that fact.

Our organization has about 9 levels of monthly memberships. We have some members who ask for x months or annual renewals of these memberships.

There are too many possible permutations to create separate memberships so our admins naturally try to extend monthly memberships using custom invoices and adjustments of membership terms. Unfortunately in the some of the reports custom invoices are counted separately from memberships so that becomes an added complication.

It would be very useful if any level of membership would allow the option of granting both the member or admins the ability to set arbitrary multiple of period renewal.

Renewal policy - we pay our membership fees at the beginning of each school term (UK) which is September, January and April. There is no option to configure this.

Come on people. I can't believe we're the only ones that need temporary memberships or arbitrary period memberships.
