Prohibit sending message from one's own profile
I am writing as a webmaster who must deal with confused members. Currently when a member is on the web page to edit his/her own profile, there is an option to send a message. There is no clue shown as to whom that message will go to, but I am quite certain it will only go back to the sender. That seems like a useless thing to do, and one likely to create confusion (because the member is likely to erroneously believe a society officer will see the message). I'd like to see <SEND> removed from the edit profile page.

Pamela, sorry for the delay with answer.
As workarounds for 'Contact us' function creation I can suggest the following:
* You can insert the link 'Notify us about changes' right to the 'Contact profile' system page. The link can be displayed as text or as a button. The Member profile page is not public, so the link will not be used by spammers. https://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Inserting+links
* Also, we have an instruction how to organize Contact us form on the site https://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Creating+a+Contact+Us+or+feedback+pageThere is thread on our forum about 'Contact us' function –
https://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932/suggestions/8828116. Please vote and add your comments there. And as I already commented before, the recipient information must be presented on the form. We will try to fix this issue and add such information to the form.

Katya, sorry I don't understand your answer here.
I too have an issue if Members think they are sending an email to a Club Official using this function, and this is not the actual function available.
I actually need Members to be able to notify us of certain changes rather than using a self-serve option to edit profile for all fields because some changes link to extra charges and we need to generate another invoice manually if these change during the membership year. I would therefore be happy if Members can include a 'send an email to notify changes' from their profile, but am not sure how this can be communicated to Members without confusion with existing function. So how can the purpose and recipient of the email be indicated on the profile form please? Thank you. Pamela -
Rollie, thanks for your request.
The Send message function is available from Member's Public profile. But still, agree that it's confusing to see it on the own profile page. The only situation where it might be necessary is to check how the sending of a message works - send it to yourself.
And of course, the information about who will receive this message must be presented on the form. Now, it is not obvious.
