Non-attendance button
We run a very particular club with strict membership requirements. Due to the nature of our club and restrictions placed upon us by contractual arrangements, we require our members to tell us if they are not coming to events, so we can plan, cater and capture costs accordingly.
At the moment we are trying to achieve this via a non-attendance forum, which our members hate. A 'non-attendance' button (or non-attendance registration that does not generate an invoice) would be fantastic!

Barefootgal,
Thank you for your feedback! It is quite reasonable suggestion.

Can we have a manual option for this too? Members often email me to mention they're not coming, and I'd like to be able to take them "off" the invitation list myself.

Looked at the design, can I suggest the text in the button is "Not Attending" and the status in the listing matches the button wording.

Thanks for taking this idea forward WA! I just reviewed the concept in your Google Docs link and the functionality looks perfect!

I believe that "Not attending" records should not be shown in the list of registrants for admins, similar to Cancelled registrations. If admin wants to see them, they can use "Not attending" filter option.

Current design suggestion looks good.
On slide 4, the English is not quite right. To be clearer, perhaps it could say .... If you change your mind, you can still register for this event at any time. -

It would be very helpful to add this feature. It's hard to know which of our members just didn't see the invite vs. those who have seen it but cannot attend.

Allow members to RSVP for an event so we know they cannot come and therefore don't receive further reminders.
