Registering families / bundles for events
I've really had to finagle the system to make it possible for us to have an event to which children are likely to attend with their parents. At present, we have the ability to have guest registrations at a different rate, or guest registrations at the same rate, or the ability to have everyone register separately. What's needed is to have the cardholder be able to register everyone according to whatever rate they should get. For example:
Adult at 10, Children at 5. Right now the system can handle two adults, or two children being registered at once. The system can also handle 1 adult and many children being registered. The system cannot handle 3 adults and two children.

Our memberships include couple and family memberships. Event registrations don't cope with this well. It's easy to add a guest but not a your spouse.

Our group is a moms group and it is important to be able to track amount of children that will be attending. Currently we are saying "Please enter number of children in 'guests' drop down" but reading directions does not always happen...

Any news on this? It's extremely inconvenient for families to register for events as it is.

Allow spouses/significant other to sign up at the same time (not on separate accounts for the same event). An event can sell out and then the second person won't have a spot.

Would like to have a process that would allow our company/agency members to register multiple bundle individual at once. This would create one confirmation and invoice detailing all of the registration information to the bundle administrator as well as individual confirmations to the individual registrants. This would be similar to the guest registration process but they would not be called guest since they are actually members and they would be able to log in and manager their registration as well like add guest, amend, and cancels. This would also place the registration detail on their individual records under "Events" all leading back to that main registration.

Registering multiple people has proven complicated for some of our members. If a mom wants to sign up for herself and 2 of her kids for a zoo field trip (when adult tickets are $10 and child tix are $8) they are not always clear on how to do this.

I would like this option too please!

Unfortunately it is not possible to have select a different registration type for guests at the moment. I have moved this to the Wishlist forum.

I too have this issue,we often run events for members and non members over 1 and 2 days. I thought that I might be able to get around it by using the radio buttons with extra costs (and just add guests) but ran into the problem of members and non members having different prices and there is no way to stop non members choosing the member rate doing it this way. It would really help out a lot if people could add additional guests with a different registration type or make the radio buttons inherit user access so only a member can select member prices in the rego form.

We are desperately seeking a bundle registration solution. We manage several associations with bundle memberships.
How about providing the Bundle Administrator with the ability for group registrations? This person would be able to see all of the members "linked" to their membership just like the list in their profile. If you allow group registrations(create a parameter), the bundle administrator can log in, go to event registration and see the list of the members linked to their membership. Select a name from the list and then go through the registration process for that person. Then have the option to register another person from their bundle. The registration information is tied to the individual but the invoice is tallied and tied to the bundle administrator for 1 payment after completing the registration for however many people will attend the event. We would be happy to discuss possible solutions to ease the registration process for bundles.

Our Organization also supports some sort of shopping cart functionality for event registration. We always have multiple price points for adults and their children so the requirement to go in and out to create multiple invoices based on registration types or to handle children or other guests as extra cost radio button add-ons is pretty outdated when we compare usability to a site like Event Brite. Any thought of integrating some sort of plug in that would integrate with the membership data, and just take a nominal fee per registrant in order to get this process a little smoother?

Our events are family events and so everybody is always registering more than one person at the same time. Currently, they have to go back to the registration page to register each additional person and then, after the last one, pay for all at once. This is a little cumbersome and some people find it confusing and even forget along the way which family members they've already registered.
We would like very much if there could be one page that allowed people to add additional registrations (under their email address).
Adding a guest doesn't work because of the limitations. The additional registrations need to be able to be of various registration types and rates.

Our club also strongly supports this enhancement request as majority of our members are families where we have different rates for events based on age of the attendees. Today families have to create multiple registrations for events with no way to let the event chair know the are all together.

To clarify: there is no mystery about "~70" - these are the threads with 10 or more authors commenting in them (not comments, but different authors).
Speaking about your requests: both are yes.
"Late fees on renewals" - This in analysis queue, not ready for development yet.
"Recipients of Announcement E-mails" - this is ready for development and one of the top candidates for after 5.0 release.

Thanks for the candor -- much appreciated. So... regarding the ~70 easier features... I wish/hope/plead that these are included (?):http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308920-archive/suggestions/8833867-ability-to-select-recipients-for-event-announcemen

Thanks for sharing the details, Kim. We haven't had any progress on that and, frankly speaking, we do not expect any in the nearest future. Let me expand a little on this comment, so it does not sound rude. Most important: this is not because we think that this is not important (quite opposite!), but to make the change we would have to spend considerable amount of time. And we are not willing to go into that - we are just going to release our version 5, which has been a very very long project for us (more than 3 years ) and we do not want to start right away another big one. Instead, we will be focusing on other top and long outstanding threads (we have ~70 of them) that require less efforts to do.
But things change and as soon as we see that we are doing a good progress with closing less difficult issues, we will be switching to more difficult and important as this one.Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Dmitry. Just wondering where the idea of linking family members' WA accounts stands, if anything has changed or is planned to change anytime soon? Here is a recent question I received from a client regarding this that demonstrates one aspect of the problem of not being able to link accounts together:
This is for a boy scout troop. There are two membership levels: adult memberships and scout memberships that are at different price points. A typical family will have one or two registered adult members and one or two scout members (4 independent WA accounts). There is not a single "family" price option -- each scout must be paid for each year as well as each adult, and a portion of each of their dues gets passed onto the regional organization. [Same is true of PTA organizations, btw, which also has the same parent/child problem as far as WA is concerned since kids' WA accounts are not linked to their parent's WA account.]
I've considered using bundles, but I don't think membership bundles works for this scenario since there are two different membership level prices and the total pricing for the membership is not at the bundle level but at the bundle member level (a summative calculation based on the number of individual members in the bundle and their respective pricing (scout or adult).) Unless I'm not understanding something about bundles.
To summarize, the outstanding issues with the current configuration are:
1. Communication/emails/invoices -- go to each individual WA account, therefore parents aren't always aware of the status of their kids' accounts unless they login as their kid.
2. Account administration -- No birds-eye view of the whole family for the parent or the WA site administrators. Parent name/address/phone/emergency contact info duplicated for each child's WA record.
3. Registrations and payments -- Not easy to register multiple family members in one step without using "guest" registrations feature.
Thanks,
Kim

Justin - thanks for the input. We haven't done any work on this area - though it is now clear that we need to replace our generic 'bundle membership' functionality with properly designed dedicated functionality for families and for corporations. This thread is focused on the family membership and I would really appreciate if you could post a new thread with a detailed example of how corporate membership specifically would ideally work.

Any update on this over the past year? There really needs to be a way for a bundle administrator to register multiple bundle members for an event. Our bundles are companies and the bundle members employees. The admin (business owner) needs the ability to register their employees for events vs having to ask each person to register or log in under each employee for them to register.
Also there needs to be the ability to modify the profile fields required for bundle members separate from bundle admins. Why would I for example need to collect company name for all employees if they work for the same company?
Thanks!
