Archive events
Be able to archive events so they no longer show in the event list and do not delete any invoices. But still be able to access them in a search. Kind of like archiving members.

I would like to archive past events.

I would like to have last years events archived so they don't show up in searches for upcoming events. The customer shouldn't have to sort through last years events when looking for future events.

Any update on this - being able to archive events?

Simpler still, a simple toggle switch that will show old events or not show old events. It just takes forever to load the events list when you have to wait for 6 year's worth of events to be compiled.

For no-fee events, option for member to cancel themselves

How about an event management tool that allows search on more than a keyword (author, date created, date of event), displays the results in a table where you can set the sort criteria, then allows one or multiple rows to be selected for delete or archive?

Yes! I just want to concur with this desire to better manage the Events list, mainly to have an "archive" option for events that are already passed. Another (less preferred) option is to at the very least, be able to move the order in which events appear on the list. This would allow us to move past events to the bottom of the screen. Again, less preferred, as an archive option would be WONDERFUL to remove them from the Events list, but still keep the information/transactions associated with them.

It would be great that the option of cancelling an event, and then posting a note regarding the cancellation would be an option. If we delete it, how do we communicate that? I know that one application I use has this function, but it's necessary. This way you can communicate with your members on why the cancellation is happening...not deleting it and forget it and the members.

If we're talking about filtering options here, I would like at least simple logical operators--AND, OR, NOT. At the moment, only AND seems to be supported.

Another way to do it would be to not try to show all of the events by default. That part takes a long time, and it slows the filter box too.

What your android mobile app does for me with our many events is a good step in this direction, showing buttons for All/Upcoming/Past events and then events by each Tag. When I display one of those categories, it would help if it showed the year of each event, instead of just the month and day.

We certainly need better event list access, with our 2751 events right now and adding roughly 200 more each year. Our biggest needs are Date Filter and Filter by Tag, settable BEFORE it starts displaying the huge event list. I like the "tag-based folders" idea.

I suggest merging this with "Managing a database with many events [5687]", which is older, has more votes, and covers the same need in slightly more detail. We certainly need this capability, with our 2751 events and adding a few hundred more each year.

Plus 1 for better managing long lists of events, we also amass several hundred per year...

Now after just over 12 months we have 3000 events listed. This makes list management quite laborious.
We do not want to lose history but some sort of archive option seems to be the most simple and sensible approach ?
