Recurring events: separate registrations for each occurrence (e.g. monthly board meetings)
Original recurring events request was to complex for us to resolve in a single release, so we decided to focus it on a simple scenario where event can have multiple sessions, but event registration is one and for all - like courses. See http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8825581-recurring-events-scenario-1-event-with-multiple for more details on this one.
Another important scenario is when event is actually a recurring series of events, but each occurrence of an event may have a separate registration and updated description of event. Example - monthly board meetings. Event is created in the beginning of year with a monthly recurring schedule, but each occurrence can be updated as soon as time comes close to this particular event.

I work in a classroom space where some of our classes are at the same time and day of the week every week, but is not a course. It's technically a drop-in and would like to be able to have people check-in or pre-register for each individual week without having to duplicate each of our daily classes 52 times.

I use the recurring event for our bridge club and our book club. I would prefer to have a choice to registration members for each individual event rather than the entire group, because different people attend each. I know the workaround is to put each event in separately, but for weekly activities, it would be a pain.
While you are at it, give us the flexibility to change the descriptions or venues. -

We would like the ability to later change specific values in a reoccurring meeting, such as changing the date of one, changing the description, location, or trip leader for an event.

Similar to several comments below:
An event is hosted each week throughout the year.
1. People can register or cancel at any time during the year (I can't find documentation indicating they can).
2. We need to take attendance each week for legal and insurance purposes. -

I would like to see two choices for this feature:
1) Each session accepts an entirely new set of registrants.
2) Each session is open to new registrants but carries over the registrants from previous sessions.
A number of our events are organized around of group of core attendees who make the event viable but also very much want others to join them, which is why we would like the second option above.

Add easy duplication of events. We have about 6 events that regularly repeat - some every week, some every two weeks, and some every month. Now we must manually duplicate each event for each new date, change the date, save, then repeat the process for 52 times for a year of that event. In the input and edit screen, please include a "repeat" function, where we can repeat the event on a weekly, monthly, basis, or select a date from a calendar.

Craig, this is not dead - we're just not working on it right now. It is very high in our priority list, but we haven't been able to get into it yet so far. As soon as we start working on it, we will update this thread.

I've been playing around with WA recurring events for a few days now. It looks like the recurring session works in so far as setting up a string of events with a singular registration. However, I don't see any capability for individual event registration. This is a long time in the making and as others have noted is basic calendar functionality in many other platforms. Is this a dead feature or is there any traction on making this happen sometime before the decade is out?

The majority of our events are recurring like membership meetings, board meetings and special interest group meetings. Some require registration while others are open. We try to block off/record all of our regular meetings on the calendar at the start of the year and then update individual meeting description with topics/speakers when the details are available. This change would greatly enhance the usability of Wild Apricot

In the training events we hold for prospective members we also have a "Helper" registration type where our existing members can assist with these multi-session events. We'd like to have members who register for this registration type be able to indicate those particular sessions they will be attending.
Oh, and I'd like Wild Apricot to send them reminders for just those sessions.

Probably 80-85% of our events are recurring and we need to be able to have our members RSVP to them individually. It is sad that Meetup has this feature and Wild Apricot does not.

If I create a recurring event But have to change one of them I would like to do so. now if I make a change it changes all of the events, so for example we have an event the first Friday of every month and location A but for one of the months the location is different I should be able to make a change only for that one month while leaving all the rest at location A

Recurring events is basic functionality of all electronic calendars in today's world and the lack of support in WA is a big miss. When scheduling repeating events, you should be able to specify the number of occurrences, the repeating frequency (daily, monthly quarterly etc) and on which day of the week the event should repeat. Microsoft Exchange Calendar is a good example.
While WA provides much of the needed functionality for our rowing club, this feature gap along with several other critical gaps (variable membership terms, SMS communication, limited discount feature) result in significant expenditure of volunteer time and communication issues with our member base.

This would save us an incredible amount of time!

Serene, we do not promise particular release dates. We used to, but no more.

Would like a check like a 'check in' feature for all events and recurring dates wishing that event. If an event has multiply sessions there is a need for check in for each session for my use.
Will this be available in 2017 early? -

In our case, we publish weekly our rowing schedule with sessions set for various days (Tu/Th/Sun). Rowers should be able to indicate which session(s) they can attend that week so that other participants and coaches can plan ahead. Posting this as separate events every week would quickly become an overwhelming list of events to wade through, especially as different programs (youth, women, novice) begin posting their own rowing schedules!
We could convert all this to recurring events (Tuesday practices for novice rowers, for example) but we'd need participants to be able to indicate which of the events they could attend.
Of course, attendees should ultimately be able to go in and update their selection(s) if necessary due to last minute changes in plans.

Would love this! Most of our meetings are recurring monthly, weekly and quarterly. My admin would love to setup once for the entire year.
