Event Registration Types with From AND To dates [8815]
Hi,
Our club hosts races which are announced many months in advance. We provide a sliding scale of pricing for each event regisration type, based upon how soon someone signs up. As we get closer to the event the amount goes up.
This strategy typically requires that we set up our event types such that there is an introductory race (until some date), followed by one or more periods of price increases (each one is scheduled to run from some date until another date), followed typically by a period of a week or two prior to the event when registration is closed, and then finally a higher fee on race day.
Because the "From" and "Until" dates on the registration types are implemented as radio buttons we are unable to specify a date rage.
This causes us to have to manually go in and change the from date to an until date at the end date of that period's registration fee.
If we had the ability to specify the period (from date AND until date) we would have a perfect match between the capabilities and our requirements.
As this problems exists for each of our races this is an important change request for us. Please consider this change for the next release.
Thanks,
Joe

When defining the "Available Period" for an event registration type, it would be enormously helpful to be able to set the ENABLE registration date and well as the DISABLE registration date. This way no one would have to remember when to call up the record manually and turn registration on or off. Currently, we can only do one or the other - why not both?
Thanks!

I would like to be able to schedule both start and end dates for a registration date, not just either. In addition, as our registration changes 24 hours prior to the event, I would like to be able to schedule inactivation at a precise time, not just a day. Thank you

Great to hear that this will be implemented in v5.1. This is also something that we have been waiting for.

Yes, in roadmap. No, not in v5, but it's going to be in the very next release 5.1

Is this feature still on the roadmap? I was under the impression that it was going to be implemented with the Version 5 software.

Currently, event registration types can be set to start OR end on certain dates. Can I please have the option to set both dates so I can set a registration window in the future that will start and end when I set it up? For example, we have an earlybird registration fee with a regular fee that starts after that deadline. I'd like to be able to set the start and end dates for regular registration when I setup up the event so I don't forget to close it on time. Thanks.

Yes I agree with adding time frames for different registration types.
We use early bird, regular, and late registration fee schedules. Currently I have to manually enable and disable these registration types on the specific dates.
Thanks for listening.

Dmitry,
I started this thread ... and I have to strongly echo Luchia's comment.
A FROM and TO date is essential ... but a START TIME and END TIME would be EVEN BETTER.
For example, we have registrations that we want to open at a specific TIME on a specific DATE rather than the registration becoming available at midnight (0000) on the day of ...
This requirement is an absolute necessity.

When editing the AVAILABLE PERIOD in the EVENT MANAGEMENT TYPE, please add a fourth stereo button that allows specific FROM and TO dates. This allows the available period to be bounded on BOTH sides, preventing additional work (or tracking) by users who -- under the current system -- must keep an eye on each event to change the stereo button to the TO date after previously specifying a FROM date.
Adopting this would be a real time saver for ALL users.

Currently, for any increasing price structure (early bird, regular, onsite), the admin has to:
* open all registration types with differing closing dates, which confuses the registrants; or
* open registration types by date but manually close them, requiring the admin to be SUPER on top of them.I'd like to see WINDOWS for differing registration types, ie "Open 01/01/14 through 02/01/14", automatically closing or graying out when expired.

I'm echoing this wish also. We usually have an early registration cost, a regular registration cost, and an late/on-site/day of event registration cost. Right now that will require us to manually change the registration at some point so that registrants cannot pay an incorrect amount. A date range would fix this issue for us.

Yes, absolutely please include this functionality. The system isn't nearly as robust as other systems and having this functionality would help drastically. We don't use only one or two registration windows for some of our events, so we need the From AND To in order to have more than two registration windows available, without manual intervention, which makes no sense to have someone available at a certain time/day to do (which is often not a normal business hours timeframe). Please add this much needed improvement!

absolutely need this feature with to and from dates as well as time cutoffs.
we offer earlybird rates that end at noon 2 days before the meeting to get a good headcount for the kitchen and it is a real pain to have to turn them off and the new one one on and then regular rate off at another scheduled time. we have to cut off regular registration to prepare and make namebadges. we cannot have registrations coming in up to the time of the meeting. Having this automated would save a lot of manual monitoring of time.
It would also be helpful to have a setting that says turn this rate on when this one ends. Eventbrite.com does this well.
thank you for your consideration.

A date range would be very useful.

Dmitry Buterin commented
For now you would have to manually enable/disable these rates.

This option would be a huge improvement for us.
Currently we can only offer 2 price ranges. Early Bird and regular rate.
We also would like to include a third rate - Day of Event rate.
If we currently tried to use 3 rates. Early bird, Regular rate and Day of event rate we can start the end the early bird at a certain date start up the regular rate, but have no way of ending it and starting the day of event rate.....
Thoughts?

I would definitely find this useful. I would like to have not only a start and end date, but an end and start TIME as well. I have to get our count to the hotel (for meals) by noon on a Friday, but registration can continue until midnight of that day. (We can base it on GMT + or -.) I also have a "Late Registration" type that starts after regular registration has closed. I would like to shut it down the day before the event and be able to have some type of message that says, "Registration is now closed. Please call 303-xxx-xxxx to check for availability."

OK, thanks, clear.
I would appreciate comments from other users who would find this useful.

Yes exactly. So for instance we have a coaching session that runs on a Thursday 9th September . we can then take bookings up to the Tuesday 7th September to allow for instructor resources to be confirmed.
However we will only open the bookings 1 week prior (Thursday 2nd September) to stop attendees door stopping a series we find that this leads to better attendance and also a fairer booking system all slots and then (i.e the Thursday 1st).
However a number of these coaching sessions are run weekly so it would be useful and less administration to be able to set up the calendar rather than hiding events and then manually having to open them up on a weekly basis.
Hope that makes sense!
