"Link/URL" transforming membership field
When we use normal text fields and members want to post a lengthy URL (for example to a Facebook Page that includes browser parameters in the string) it totally destroys the page layout since the long URL will not be "word wrapped" into multiple lines but remain one single liner that extends the layers divs.
Solution: Have a NEW membership/contact field type named "Link field" where a member just be able to fill in legit URLs and the field encloses the URL in a link tag where you can either then have it displayed as "Link" in the member profile or as a short significant name of choice.

Thanks for sharing. I created a separate idea based on your feedback - https://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/14832468-html-fields

If you're going to support the ability to create a link field why not just go full route and support an HTML field which allows the embedding of a subset of HTML code like <a> <strong> <a href> some formatting and also <embed> tags. <img>
This would enable you to put all sorts of content into the membership field and enable rich media to be available. This will also solve the issue of profile photos not being large enough since you can create a Photo album.
I daresay putting a field like this in will actually let you design a more custom profile page without having to modify the underlying template in some cases.

I can see this would be useful, not for my organisations use but useful in general.

Good point. I was surprised that we did not have something like this in our forum before.
