Bulk import of attendees
We sometime invoice institutions for a group of attendees. It would be great to have an excel file that can be imported per event to populate the list of attendees.
Hello everyone!
Seeing your activity on this thread we would like to present you with three new templates using the third-party app called “Integromat”. They could help you to:
- Copy an event with registrants
- Export registrations into a Google sheet
- Import registrations from a Google sheet
These need a short one-time setup and then you’ll be able to do the actions above in just a few clicks!
For more info see our blog: https://www.wildapricot.com/blogs/newsblog/2019/04/30/event-registration-integromat
We absolutely understand this is not a solution but more of a workaround for this request, so we won’t close this thread. But feel free to share your thoughts about these templates as well!
Please note, these workflows have some limitations and might not suit everybody. But we hope they will make your life a bit easier.

I'm always for sharing love :)

As other platforms are offering add-ons to what WA provides, this function will be invaluable to allowing customers integrate and leverage other technologies that support our work. From mobile apps to providing Continuing Education, this feature is necessary to keep WA relevant and supportive of customer's needs.
Evgeny, is it possible to share the love as you did with Brandon below?

Thank you Evgeny the API Call function works GREAT!
Now I'm going to get my excel list of registrants, merge their details with MS Word into the API code and import all of my registrants.
Can't wait to begin online check-ins for membership events!

This would help a lot as we often put on events for corporate clients who wish to handle the registration themselves.

I have a case for needing to import event registration information. We have 95 persons registered (so far) for an event. We added a new registration field. I need to update that field with information I have.
To update 95 registrations, I have to go into each one, click edit, set the field, Save, Cancel invoice update, click Back, click Next. And do this 95 times. We typically have 250-300 registrants. This manual process is too time consuming.
I would like it if I could export registrations to XLS, make edits, then import back to the event.

Adding my vote here.
Would like to be able to import either from Excel or directly register according to search results (eg Wednesday Seniors volunteers).
As it is I have to print out a list, go to event, add registrant, search for name, create registration, go back, add registrant.... This gets pretty frustrating when you've got 50 participants.

The ability to upload a registration list for an event or a way to choose multiple members at the same time so you do not have to save them all individually. Similar feature for sending emails; ability to select multiple names at once or import a contact list. (Contact list already created to register new members who took our course).

I have an event that is chargeable. I did not use an event in WA to identify participants but do have a list of attendees. Now I have to invoice each attendee individually. Would like to be able to upload an Excel (or CSV file) by member number to generate the invoices.

Be able to add all members to an event so I can check them in. Right now it's difficult to add everyone one by one. Our members will not RSVP but we want to track their attendance by checking them in.

I would like the ability to register to an event a whole membership level with one click with the option of those added to automatically get confirmation email notifications
We are presently having an event in which members are free but non members get charged. It took me over a half an hour to find, add, and send notification of their free registration to just 15 people in 2 membership levels.

Yes, in addition to adding an attendee list from a spreadsheet, I would LOVE to be able to add a whole "Group" of contacts to be registered for a particular event. This way they get the automatic event reminders for events they have already committed to.
Thank you for your consideration! This would save lots of time on our end.

What is the main reason to use Eventbrite? Printing tickets, or anything else? I would rather focus on improving built-in event management functionality...
-
Terry Kerr commented
Sure.
We used Eventbrite to create meal ticket orders and print them. It would be nice to be able to import their Meal ticket order # into their event registration so that we can export that information out when needed for name badges etc.
We also track whether a person has completed their conference evaluations and Act 48 Professional Development credits earned for our records.
We found it very cumbersome to edit 400 event registration records one by one.

Can you elaborate you scenario? Like who is doing this and why do you need to have bulk import instead of simple editing records one by one? You comments will help with analysis and design (when it comes to this point)

I am in agreement with this request. We would really like the ability to load the attendee list from a spreadsheet. This is useful when the registration process is done offline of WA. The way it is now, we have manually go in and add them which takes a significant amount of time. Having the ability to just load the list would be great.

Different situations, both useful! We use Events for training courses, and want to import 4 years of history of who has attended which training courses. Need to import over 100 courses and 700 trainee records. Not an unusual situation for many associations - especially to sell further courses and refreshers.

Looks like you are speaking about another scenario: initial request was about bulk update of already registered attendees (so admin doesn't go one by one), while you speak about importing past event details. Do you think these are similar cases?

Brad Hunt commented
Adding my vote to this feature. Similar to importing financial records, I need to import past events to capture the membership activity history.

Actually, there is a workaround, but it's not easy - you can use API to import attendees. Specifically, this API call - http://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/EventRegistrations+API+V2+call#EventRegistrationsAPIV2call-Creatinganeweventregistration
Unfortunately, you will have to create events manually before using the API to add registrants, as our API does not allow to create new events yet (see wishlist thread http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8827954-add-extended-event-api-add-events-edit-details if you want to boost it)
