One Member Registers Multiple Members for an Event
Hello,
I mentioned this in the last survey I took and Dmitry suggested I post this here.
We have encountered several instances where allowing a member to sign up other members for an event would be a big advantage.
For example:
Member Frank would like to make a reservation for dinner with member Mike. It would be faster and tidier if Frank can do this in one registration. This way, Mike and Frank both appear on the list of registrants and both will receive updates about the dinner event. At present both would have to register separately (this would cause some confusion as to who is sitting with whom), or as Frank plus 1, in which case Mike would not receive any notice about the event.
To take this example further, we have many couples who are members. I have given both parties login credentials so that they can access the various sections of the site that are for the members only. Under the current system both parties would have to register for an event in order to appear on the registration list. Many, many times I have been asked to allow them to register both parties at one time.
We also do team events of up to 8 members so this would be very helpful in that regards as well.
Any change to the system that would allow this would not need too much in terms of error checking since every party that is registered would receive notice and any errors could be very simply corrected by the administrator.
I'm not sure what type of control I would suggest for this, but a drop down box would work, although it would be tricky if you have a very long list of members.
Maybe we can implement a screen where the member chooses the other members who are authorized to register them for events??? Just a thought.
Anyway, i'd be very interested in everyone thoughts about this.
It would help me immensely!
Thanks!
John Williams

We have a question, when we raise an event, and the member books in, the system then allows them to bring along a 2nd, 3rd or 4th person.
However when the member making the booking wants book insay his wife, the system treats her as a guest, event though she might be a member under a Family Membership Bundle?
Is there a way that when a member books, that he can insert his wife;s membership number and WA then poulates the guest field with her details.
The reason for this is we are only getting event analysis from the member initating the booking and we are getting no information as to when his wife attends.
Obviously this could be addressed by her making a booking in her own right, but if Husband and wife and say their two children are coming to the event (and the children are coverdd under a family membersahip bubdle) this would be uneccesarily burdensome on the member making the booking.
Is there away that we can resolve this by the member listing on the booking form any other members that he wishes to add to his booking and the system then shows how many members are attending from his booking. -

There is no clean way to register another person who is a member. I suggest in the invite that you can register a second member by re-clicking the Register button and overwriting your own email with that of your member guest. That works, but nobody really such wonky stuff in an email, so people just register the second member as a guest. We charge extra for non member guests, so that sets up a payments problem. It shouldn't be too hard to check a guest's email and determine member status and bill accordingly. Please make this happen.

Yes! We have scores of member couples, most of whom count on one to register both. We allow guests, but registering a fellow member as a guest incurs a different fee. At the very least, Wildapricot could check the email on a guest registration, and if it's for a member, treat him/her appropriately.

I wholeheartedly agree! This feature is greatly needed! Our members are mostly couples (either married or partners). They don't understand "bundles" and they really don't understand why they have to record their spouse/partner as "guest" in their registration for an event. It makes the whole registration system an annoyance/confusion for them. Thanks for fixing this for us!

This feature would be much welcomed. We are a track cub putting on meets and we need the Bundle administrator to be able to register multiple athletes for multiple events. Please please please implement this request. We may have to look elsewhere if we cannot find a way to do this.

Yes! Please! We are a yacht club with many members and couples are a bundle. It seems wildly inefficient and very frustrating for bundle users to have to register for events independently. A simple check box - ‘Add the following bundle members to this event’ would seem very logical to any user.

We currently allow 2 members per household. We would like to be able to have 1 member of the household register for both members for an event, along with a guest if they so choose, and 1 invoice generated. Having multiple invoices gets costly with your transaction costs.

We really need this feature. We offer couples memberships as "bundle" memberships limited to 2 total members. It's really frustrating for couples to have to register separately for events in order to get member pricing. We also have members who sometimes want to pay for a friend's registration along with their own or simply register a friend for a free event at the same time they complete their own registration. We need either the capability to have multiple types of guest registration (members and non-members) or the ability to members to register other members.

If I could vote for this again, I would. This is the 3rd year in a row we've needed this feature (and 8th year since being suggested). Members need to be able to register other members.
We have an event where members are free and non-members have to pay. We have many couples and groups who wish to register together, but they cannot. This is a hassle to members, and if they register separately it throws off our registration packets.
We also have a holiday luncheon. Everyone pays the same amount for that event, but people register in groups of 5-10. When they do it online, they add people as "guests" even though they're in fact members; then Wild Apricot doesn't show on those 9 other member profiles that those people attended the event (because the guest registration isn't connected to the member accounts). This significantly hampers our ability to send notifications and do event follow up. We can correct it one-by-one on the admin side, but at 300+ registrations, that is a huge burden.

I really need this feature in the next month so we can set up our Christmas party!!

I would like to support this change request. We have a situation where members pay one price for an event and guests pay a different price. Currently a member can only add "guests" and the system is unable to identify that the guest is actually a member.

It's been 3 years, Wild Apricot! Any update on this feature request?

Nudge. Nudge. Nudge. We're getting more people registering for our events each week (which is great!) but with more people comes more issues with this.

Yes, please! We often have bundle administrators who need to register multiple people in their company for an event and want to make sure they receive them member price for those people. It's also important to note that this person might not be attending themselves, but registering for others.

I'm setting up an event and am very frustrated by the limitations of the "guest" feature. For this event, members attend for free, and non-members and guests of members are $5. Many of our members are couples and are accustomed to registering together, i.e. one person registers both members plus a few non-member guests. Because the "guest" price can only be set to one price, it’s impossible for two members to register on the same order and both attend for free.
Guest registrations should have the same option to choose a different ticket type.
Does anyone have a good workaround for this? Requiring both members register separately will confuse our members and throw off our registration packets. We are considering not using Wild Apricot at all for this event because it's too confusing for members. This is very unfortunate, because one of the main reasons we switched to WA was so that we could do event registrations online!

We need this for spouses, when one spouse wants to register for both. Without that feature, it's unlikely that we will use the Events feature.

Our organization has private music teachers who would like to register their students for events. A function like this would be helpful to allow multiple registrations by one member. A bundle is close to what we need, but a teachers list of students is often changing, and we'd still want the student to manage their own membership, while the teacher would register and pay for all students for event registrations.

This registration ability needs to be optional. It would create chaos in our group.

Currently we have the registrant enter all names and dinner choices in a text field for the tables, but as you can imagine, it causes some overhead on the back end to get an accurate count.
